Email Marketing - How To Succeed
By Brad J
Nowadays, everyone wants to know what it takes to succeed in email marketing? Of course that subject has had truckloads of information published about it. However, I thought I would revisit the subject and provide a short, succinct message on what I think it takes to succeed in email marketing. First, let’s use common sense. Promoting your service or product is really no different now than it was 75 years ago. Marketing has been around for the better part of a century. Of course then, unlike now, there was no email but there was regular “snail mail.”
Then, as now, the job at hand was to create enough interest about your product or service to get someone to contact you for what you were selling. So the question becomes, how to do this? Well, here’s the easiest formula.
- Create an advertisement that compels the reader to contact you to find out the secrets that your product has that makes it unique and unlike other available products on the market
- Once you have their interest, follow up with some form of sales letter. It can be a traditional sales letter or it can be one more in tune with today’s technology, such as an audio or video message.
- In your correspondence, explain to the customer and specifically detail why your product is the best solution for them and their specific, personal situation. How your product provides the perfect solution to their problem and why, if they want help they need to purchase it.
- Finally, one of the most important and most often overlooked aspects of any email marketing plans is to make sure that it is easy for the customer to purchase your product or service. You’ve already spent countless hours developing your product and many dollars advertising your product. Don’t blow the sale now by creating a confusing or hard to understand payment process. Just make sure that you have plenty of distinguishable payment links or buttons.
