How to be the Man that All Women Want

By Scott Patterson

Okay this tip is very important to your success, so pay close attention...

Recently I had an epiphany. In my main ebook, Attraction Mastery, I spend a lot of time giving guys advice on how to attract and seduce women. But there is one area which is more important then anything else you can learn about dating women. It's this...

How you become a MAN!

Many women are completely fed up with guys who act like little boys. In addition to learning "pick up" techniques, it's equally important to learn how to cultivate a specific personality which is attractive to women.

Why is this important...
It's simple.

By being a REAL man, you'll exude a certain type of confidence which strongly appeals to women.

So what virtues does a MAN have?

Well here are a few characteristics which I personally think describe the ideal MAN:

• Honor and integrity
• Passion for life and a clear understanding of his goals
• Confidence in himself, but still humble enough to be thankful for what he has
• Calmness under pressure regardless of what's happening around him
• Generous to his friends and family
• An ability to lead people
• Decisiveness and ability to make confident decisions
• Doing the right thing
• Having courage and conviction

Now I know these are a LOT of personality traits, but becoming a MAN is one of the most important steps you can take towards attracting ANY woman.

I challenge you to take each trait and rate yourself on how you compare. Then make a point to discipline yourself to work on developing each of the characteristics. I guarantee, you'll become a much more attractive to the women you meet in your life.

Scott Patterson can help YOU meet, attract and seduce ANY woman! In his free resource, Attraction Mastery, Scott provides over 50 TIPS you can use to get instant results with girls. To claim your free copy of this incredible resource, visit his site right now:

Simple Techniques To Teach Your Dog To Walk Politely By Your Side

By Eric Letendre

A lot of people have problems with their dogs pulling on leash. Pulling starts from a very young age. Learning what triggers the pulling and how to change it can make leash walking with your dog more enjoyable and fun.

Dogs naturally pull on leash for several reasons. First, it works, period! Your dog learns at a very early age that if they hit the end of the leash and start leaning and pulling, they will make forward progress. The dog is trying to close the distance between themselves and whatever they are looking at - and the leash is restricting that.

Since most dogs can cover distance a lot quicker than humans can, they will pull to the point of gasping for breath. Second, dogs have what is called opposition reflex. As soon as they feel pressure on their necks or chests they reflexively lean into it. So, given this information, it is vital to begin anti-pulling exercises at a very young age.

To begin, you must be able to stand still with your dog on leash without him pulling and straining at the end of it. Have some treats ready to reward your dog when the leash becomes slack. Put the loop of the leash on your thumb and hold the remainder of the leash in your free hand.

As your dog pulls and the leash becomes tight, pull your dog back into you while giving him a verbal correction. Some dogs will run and hit the end of the leash again. You must persevere and pull your dog back into you with a verbal correction as many times as it takes.

Sooner or later he will give up and stay near you with the loose leash. At this moment, heavily reward your dog with food, praise, and pats. Once he is standing consistently with you on a loose leash you can begin your walk.

When you begin your walk, start with the leash hanging loose. As you take a few steps forward, your dog will most likely run ahead and hit the end of the leash. As soon as he takes off and the leash becomes tight, immediately change directions and make a full turn. Your dog will have no choice but to follow suit.

As your dog catches up to you, be ready to heavily reinforce him. Proceed forward and be prepared to turn around again. Try to focus on the times when your dog is walking next to you and the leash is loose rather than on times when the leash is tight.

If you allow your dog to make forward progress when the leash is tight, then you are training your dog to pull. Your dog needs to learn that there will be no forward progress made when the leash is tight. In fact, they will lose distance by making the turn.

Another exercise to try is the red light/green light game. Begin walking forward with your dog.
When he hits the end of the leash and begins pulling, immediately put on the brakes. Your dog will most likely fight this and start bucking, but it is important to remain rigid and become a statue.

Do not look at your dog, talk to your dog, or move forward again. You will probably need to put the red light on often in the beginning, but with repetition and consistency, your dog will begin to see the picture; leash is tight no distance is covered, leash is loose forward progress is made. Yippee!

Yet another exercise is to form circles. Begin walking forward with your dog on a loose leash. If your dog runs forward and hits the end of the leash, pull him back in close to your body and spin in a circle once or twice.

Stop and begin to walk forward again. This will momentarily disorient your dog long enough for you to make several steps with a loose leash. At this point you can heavily reward him with a few special treats coupled with heavy praise. Remember that the key to training is information and communication from you.

There are hand and arm saving pieces of equipment on the market for adult dogs with extreme pulling habits. Gentle Leader Head Collars or Haltis are great tools to use until your dog is trained. However, dogs do not generalize well, and if you use a special collar to walk your dog, once you take the collar off the no-pull effect will not filter over. The best prevention is to train your dog on his flat buckle collar and reinforce loose leash walking. Good Luck!

When in Rome, Eat As The Romans Do!

By Adam Singleton

For generations, Italian food has captured the hearts of people around the world, providing a delectable gateway to the passion and romance inherent in Italy's history and literature. From the height of the Roman Empire to modern-day Italy, food has played a crucial part in cultural traditions and is a part of the Italian experience that many travellers to the country relish above all else! And where better to experience the beauty and delights of Italian cookery than in the country's vibrant and imposing capital - Rome.

During the heady days of the Roman Empire, Roman cuisine was dominated by a diversity of meats, although vegetables were still incorporated into lighter dishes. Today, however, the food you'll find in Rome is much more varied, with vegetarians and vegans being quite naturally catered for.

Typical food native to Rome includes puntarelle (chicory salad), carciofi alla romana (artichokes Roman style), abbacchio alla scottadito (lamb chops) and coda alla vaccinara (beef stew). However, as well as these local treats, anyone planning a holiday to Rome will quite naturally be anticipating an authentic taste of one of Italy's greatest exports - pizza! In Rome, the best pizza places will only open at night, as it will take the better part of the day to warm up the traditional wood ovens in which they're cooked to the right temperature - so make sure you don't get fooled by a tourist trap serving warmed up frozen pizza during the day.

If you want to enjoy a traditionally Roman dish, order baccala (battered salt cod) as a starter before your pizza arrives. Roman ice-cream is also well-known for its high taste factor and creamy texture. If you're wandering the streets of Rome looking for a 'gelateria' (ice cream parlour), make sure you find one with a large 'G' symbol on the outside - this signifies guild association, so the ice cream is guaranteed to be good quality.

And don't miss out on affogato, an Italian speciality that involves drowning a scoop of ice cream in a shot of espresso. Many gelaterias charge you extra if you eat indoors - so eat your ice cream scoop by the Trevi Fountain or another of Rome's iconic monuments, and you'll be saving money while absorbing some prime historical locations! Whatever choice of food you have your heart set on in Rome, you'll be able to find it in a variety of charming neighbourhoods, including Trastevere - one of Rome's heartlands for bars and restaurants - and the old Jewish Quarter, which traces its origins back to 1555 when Pope Paul IV restricted all Jews to a small area of Rome.
But there are other ways to enjoy and experiment with Roman cuisine: for instance, rent an apartment in Rome and you'll be able to buy local produce from street stalls and markets, and enjoy it in the comfort of your own flat. Moreover, renting a flat in Rome means that you'll be able to indulge in Rome's abundance of high quality - yet inexpensive - range of Italian wines, without having to worry about making your way back to your hotel in one piece!

About Teen Dating

By Kerry Ng

Teen dating is one of the most difficult procedures of teenage life. Social pressures surrounding it can be impossible to overcome, especially if you are a teen who is shy or awkward. Having an awkward personality is difficult to sidestep as a teen especially if you find that it follows you around like a shadow. Overcoming awkwardness is hard enough in school or work, but the difficulty and complications can be downright overwhelming when you are on a date.

This is not to say that all teen dating experiences will be disastrous or will contain incidents of major social faux pas. Often teen dating takes place without incident and the date goes on successfully to result in an incredible time for all participants. This requires the teen to be less awkward than most and to be as suave as James Bond times ten thousand. The hyperbole is not misplaced, either, as teens are some of the most scrutinized human beings on the face of the earth.

The perils of teen dating present challenges in front of teenagers that many simply are not equipped to face. Things like ordering food for a member of the opposite sex and pulling chairs out for your date are no longer commonplace, let alone in the world of teen dating. These are “musts”, and should be encouraged among all teen daters so as to produce a positive experience.

One of the most important things to remember is the notion of self-respect. In all things related to dating, do not forget to remember yourself and who you are when you are out on that date. It is easy to try to become another person to impress a date, but in the end what is respected above all else is someone who never abandons their principles or their ideologies just for a kiss or a snuggle. Remember to stand on your own two feet in the harsh, cold world of teen dating.

Domestic Violence and Child Custody

By Steven Carlson

Becoming a witness of domestic violence and growing up in such a volatile and disturbing family environment can have a dreadful impact on the psychological development of a child. Hence, the issue of child custody in situations that involve domestic violence is one of great important.

The US Department of Justice gives great importance towards protecting the rights of children who are exposed to domestic violence. Domestic violence in this context does not necessarily mean the child has actually seen physical abuse or witnessed domestic violence. It may encompass circumstances wherein the child is simply present in the home during an incident of domestic violence. Such type of abuse is commonly referred to as “secondary abuse.”

In a California case known as In re Heather A., 60 Cal. Rptr. 2d 315, 322 (Ct. App. 1996) the court found that two children were exposed to domestic violence by virtue of being in the same home as their mother ho was physically abused by her boyfriend, even though the children were in another part of the house and did not actually witness the abuse. The two children were removed from the home and made dependents of the court upon a finding that the children were victims of secondary abuse.

Parents experiencing domestic violence within their family home are at risk of losing custody of their children. These children may be declared as dependants of the court, removed from the home, and taken into protective custody of Department of Social services. There are several means by which parents subjected to domestic violence can prevent losing custody of their children. The most important of these is to bring an end to such a violent relationship.

If you are involved in a relationship wherein domestic violence is present and children are involved, you would do well to consult an attorney in your jurisdiction to help you learn where you stand legally on the matter and what options are available to help protect you and your children.

Men's Shirts - Fashion, Not Just Function

By Adam Singleton

For many, the average men's shirt is simply a garment of utility - one that is worn by men across the world for reasons of function and not necessarily fashion. But this attitude belies the hundreds of years of trends in men's shirts.

From the typical collarless shirts with billowing sleeves worn by classical painters to the modern formal button-down shirt, men's shirts have captured the imaginations of both designers and ordinary men for generations. In the twentieth century in particular, a range of different shirt styles have proved popular with men of all ages.

One of the most important developments in men's shirts over the last hundred years, for example, has been the invention of the polo shirt. The polo shirt, or 'tennis shirt', was created by legendary French tennis player Rene Lacoste in 1929 as an alternative to the stiff dress shirts and ties typical of tennis attire at the time.

In the 1960s, Ralph Lauren propelled the polo shirt to new heights as a prominent item in his 'Polo' collection; and since this time the polo shirt has become so popular that it is now a standard category of clothing - although it has fallen out of favour with most tennis players. The granddad shirt has also been a long lasting trend in men's shirts in the twentieth and twenty-first centuries.

These collarless shirts have been popular with men in warm countries for decades and have seen a variety of incarnations throughout the years. The Nehru Jacket, for instance, is a South Asian version of the modern granddad shirt that was popularised by the first Indian Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru in the 1950s and early 1960s, and has since been prominently worn by a number of celebrities, from the likes of Sammy Davis Jr to Steven Segal. Today's granddad shirt preys on bright colours and an ethno-bohemian vibe that appeals to a variety of men's fashion trends - from festival clothing to smart casual summer wear.

The button-down shirt has also been one of the most influential men's shirts in fashion history - but memories of how it was created tend to be somewhat hazy. Some fashion experts claim that the button-down collar shirt was invented by an American shirt manufacturer who was inspired by an English polo match, in which players had their collars clipped down to avoid flapping in the wind.

Others say that button-down shirts were created in New York, when their inventor (as yet anonymous) attached his collar to his shirt with buttons in a fit of annoyance at the oncoming wind. But whatever the origin of the button-down shirt, its impact on the men's shirt industry has been historic, as button down shirts are now worn in both formal and casual contexts.

Today, short-sleeved men's shirts are often worn with skinny jeans, large belts and tailored waistcoats for a fresh and informal look that still exudes smart chic. And with men's shirts available in a variety of colours - from grey to raspberry - and in a variety of floral and striped patterns, it's clear that evolving trends in men's fashion are far from over.

Natural Ways to Get Rid of Bad Breath

By Muhammad Hazman Mohamed Noor

Learning how to get rid of bad breath the natural way is not hard to do. Here are a couple of ways that you can utilize what nature has provided and greatly improve the scent of your breath.

One of the easiest ways for a quick fix to your breath would be to keep some parsley handy. The green leafy herb that so many people use for garnish actually has a very productive purpose.
Chewing on a sprig of parsley helps to absorb the substances that create the lack of freshness in your mouth, and as a bonus has several vitamins that your body could use anyway.

Along with parsley, you may want to think about trying a mouth rinse made from steeping cloves and peppermint into a tea. Allow the items to steep in hot water for at least fifteen minutes, then rinse and gargle with the finished product. The result is a perfectly natural mouthwash that cost pennies to make and leaves your mouth feeling fresh.

Sometimes bad breath is not a matter of what you just had to eat, but is due to poor digestion, colon problems or liver problems. For people with chronic bad breath, the use of cayenne may do the trick. Cayenne contains large amounts of capsicum, which seems to be an all-purpose herb when it comes to proper body function. In spite of the heat of the cayenne, it tends to soothe the stomach and aid in digestion, as well as promote the proper processing of fluids and waste products through the system. A tea made from a teaspoon of ground cayenne pepper and a cup of hot water one to three times a day will not only help your breath but also help your vital organs function more smoothly.

Learning how to get rid of bad breath the natural way not only will resolve the issue of your breath; it will also provide other things your body needs to be healthy.

Hidden Spy Cameras - All-Seeing Eyes

By Nahshon Roberts

With the advent of reality shows, more and more people are becoming aware of the possibility of using hidden cameras to spy on other people for different reasons. Seeing people in their most unguarded moments can be fascinating. Camera manufacturers have taken advantage of the fact that people want to have hidden spy cameras similar to that of James Bond or the popular prank shows of television. This has since contributed to the steady rise of the hidden spy cameras industry.

While most hidden spy cameras are used to capture harmless pranks on video, there are other uses that are not as wholesome. Voyeurs spying on their neighbors and secretly filming other people having sexual intercourse shamelessly utilize hidden spy cameras. Hidden spy cameras, however, are not just for people with nefarious plans. Hidden spy cameras are also great tools to keep watch over your home and loved ones, thereby ensuring peace of mind. They can be used to make sure that your children are treated well by their nannies and babysitters. Similarly, they can also be used to catch criminals or philandering spouses. Hidden spy cameras are so effective and handy, in fact, that they are even used by law enforcement agencies, such as the police and the FBI.

Strings or No Strings Attached
Hidden spy cameras can either be wireless or wired. Wireless hidden spy cameras have concealed transmitters that send captured images to a remote recording equipment. Wired hidden spy cameras, on the other hand, are connected to recording equipment, like VCRs and PCs, through a physical cable. Wireless cameras rely on battery power, while the wired sort has the advantage of a ready power supply.

Its Hidden for a Reason
As the name suggests, hidden spy cameras are always concealed. They are usually hidden in everyday, nondescript objects, such as clocks, calculators, radios, teddy bears, and even plants.

Recent breakthroughs in wireless technology now allow hidden spy cameras to transmit videos real-time. So, not only can you see the action as it unfolds, you can take the necessary action as well. All you would need is a PC or laptop with an Internet access to view your hidden spy cameras. You can even do online surveillance, if you wish. You can also set up your hidden spy cameras in such a way that they trigger alarms or send emails to you when suspicious activities are captured.

If you don't have this technology, however, don't fret. Most hidden spy cameras can be set up to work unattended. They can record hours of video and can be plugged into your VCR or PC directly for review. This way, you don't miss anything and can gather solid proof of misbehavior.

Hidden Or Not, You Still Want the Best
There are a few things to consider when investing on hidden spy cameras. You have to take into consideration the range of the video you wish to capture. Wide-angle viewing is also a nifty feature to consider. It allows you to view the captured video from several vantage points.

For image quality, you need to consider your hidden spy cameras' resolution. Invest on hidden spy cameras that can automatically adjust to varying lighting conditions so you can get the clearest images possible. This way, you don't miss what happens in your home or office when you're out.

See more with hidden spy cameras! Whether you need wired or wireless spy cameras, you can choose from a host of home surveillance cameras when you visit video-surveillance-guide.com today.

Who does not know James Bond? He is the suave spy who goes on secret missions, use high-tech gadgets, uncover elaborate conspiracies, and still find time to chase after beautiful women.

Ian Fleming's fictional British Secret Service agent, James Bond, is not just a movie character.
He has become an institution, an icon of spy movies and spy cams. Over the years, 21 Bond films have been produced by EON Productions. This makes the Bond franchise the most successful film series in the spy film genre.

Acting before Spy Cams and Movie Cams From 1962 to 1967, Sean Connery played the role of Bond. Connery's first film in the 007 series was Dr. No, which was released in 1962. This was followed in succession by From Russia with Love in 1963, Goldfinger in 1964, Thunderball in 1965, and You only Live Twice in 1967.

George Lazenby was cast in the role of the British spy for the 1969 release of On Her Majesty's Secret Service. Lazenby's stint as James Bond was cut short when Connery returned for the next film, which was released in 1971. This film is the now legendary Diamonds Are Forever.

In 1973, Roger Moore debuted as the new Bond in the film, Live and Let Die. Moore would go on to make six other 007 films. This makes him the actor with the longest run in a single role. His last Bond film, a View to a Kill, was released in 1985.

After Moore, Welsh actor Timothy Dalton took on the role for the Bond films The Living Daylights, released in 1987, and License to Kill, shown in 1989.

In 1995, Pierce Brosnan played Bond in GoldenEye. This film became the highest-grossing movie of the 007 series at that time. Brosnan proceeded to star in three more 007 movies, the last one being Die Another Day in 2002.

The latest actor to play James Bond is Daniel Craig. His portrayal in Casino Royale earned the Bond franchise its first Best Actor nomination from the British Academy of Film and Television Arts. A 22nd 007 film is slated for a tentative 2008 release.

Q and the Real Secret Service Q is responsible for outfitting 007 with the latest in spy gadgetry. Even with the fictional quality of the equipment developed by the Secret Service's Quartermaster, Q, most of the movie's gadgets parallel those used by secret agents in real life.

Examples of gadgetry used both in the 007 films and in real-life espionage are spy cams. Q disguises spy cams as mundane, everyday items. These spy cams can be as small as a coin, yet still be very useful in retrieving information from high-security and restricted areas. In real life, a similar spy cam is used by agents. This spy cam is in the form of a Latvian-manufactured Minox camera. Because it is very small, agents can easily conceal it in the palm of one hand.

Besides spy cams disguised as non-essential objects, weapons concealed in ordinary things such as a pack of cigarettes, an umbrella, or a pen are also used by real-life agents.

The heavy parallelism between real-life use of spy cams and those manifested in Bond films prove that our technology is fast catching up with the imagination of writers and filmmakers. Who knows? Perhaps one day, James Bond, too, would make the leap from fiction to reality.

Summertime is a Perfect Time for Rituals

By Nina Amir

It's getting hotter and the days are getting longer. Memorial Day has come and gone, so it must be summer. While most of us look forward to summer vacations, June, July and August also provide great months for creating and performing any number of fun, interesting and spiritual rituals.

Don't let the fact that you haven't ever performed a ritual stop you. And if you have performed rituals previously, summer's a great time to come up with creative new ways to take them to a deeper spiritual level.

So, why is summertime the perfect time for rituals making and performing? Because the warm and bright mornings beckon to us to come out with the chirping of the birds and celebrate the rising of the sun, the blooming of the flowers, the beauty of the natural world around us. The equally warm and late evenings allow us time after our daily chores or work to light a candle or a fire and to join in the crickets' song and to look up at the heavens and feel our connection to the universe and to God.

Yes, the weather and the length of the days give us amply opportunity to take a few minutes or a few hours to create and perform whatever rituals we like. Here are four examples of rituals you can try this summer.

1. Greeting the dawn: Begin getting up earlier in the morning, going outside and greeting the day with a ritual. You might want to have a tea ceremony. Or go into your garden and sit and meditate. Then cut some flowers and bring them inside with you. Place them on an altar, light a candle and offer up an intention for the day. Or simply go outside right after you awaken, stretch to the sun, touch your toes (or the ground, if you can) and then turn around stopping to acknowledge each of the four directions. Before you go back inside, recite aloud a list of things for which you feel grateful.

2. Four Elements Release Ritual: Go to the beach (or a lake) and have a bonfire. Before you light the fire, offer an intention that you are creating this fire for the purpose of releasing the old habits, patterns, issues – whatever you no longer want or need – from your life. Then, on a piece of paper, write down all the things you want to release (debt, eating disorders, health problems, bad jobs, etc.). Fold up the paper and before placing it in the fire, say, "I now release these to the Universe or God. Something better is now coming to me for the highest good of all concerned."

Take a moment to look at the smoke rising from the fire. Say aloud, "This smoke is now cleansing me of those things I do not want and raising my desires to a place where they will be made manifest." Now take some breadcrumbs or pieces of bread and go though this same list while throwing them into the ocean one by one. Be sure to recite the intention before you begin and the affirmation when you are finished. Last, find enough rocks to represent each of the things you want to release, go through the same basic process as before but this time bury each rock in a shallow hole you dig in the sand. When you have released your unwanted issues to the four elements, simply say, "So be it, so it is."

3. Offering up Gratitude: Before you go to bed, go outside and sit somewhere where you can see the stars. Light a candle, and while staring at it's brightness in the dark of the night, feel appreciation for the light it offers. As you fix your gaze on the flame, begin reciting all the things you are grateful for that occurred during the day. Imagine them rising with the flame, reaching upwards, as if your gratitude is being handed off to the darkness by the tip of the flame. When you are done, look up at the stars. (It's easiest to actually lie down.) Gaze at the stars and try to feel what it is like to be on a planet – the Earth – hurtling through space. Try to get the feeling of this planet being such a small part of the greater Universe. Feel grateful for being a part of that larger whole and for the forces of nature – or God – that keep your planet safe, and, therefore, you safe. Feel awe and wonder for the vastness of this place you call home. Then, offer up a prayer – of gratitude, or petition.

4. Planting Ritual: Each time you place a plant in a pot or in the ground, or throw some seeds into the earth, imagine that you are planting a seed of change as well. If there is a particular change you desire, voice your intention to create that change as you plant the seed. Then, every day, talk to your seed (seedling, plant) about that change and how you plan on creating it. Speak of the steps you have taken or plan to take that day. Be sure to nurture the plant with water and fertilizer and generally to care for the plant in the same way that you are nurturing and caring for your change.

Welcome To The Funny Farm (Mental Illness)

By Jerry Aragon

I've been in the humor business for over 50 years, so when I built my website, I knew there would be plenty of humor. But, I wanted more than that! I wanted to address other important issues in all of our lives, such as the environment; encouraging young people to stay in school; and good health care...both physical and mental health, etc.

Starting out with my idea on the Funny Farm, I had two problems. We still live in a country, filled with people of hate; discrimination, racism and bigotry! That's the sad part of it all...but true nonetheless! Age discrimination goes on all the time in this country...and discrimination against people with mental illness goes on all the time, too. The name-calling; job discrimination; the put-down in it all, which is all a shame for this country!

Frankly...because of all this, I was reluctant to open the Funny Farm, because of my fear of getting flamed...hate mail, or even being discriminated against or losing my job, etc. Isn't that a shame that a person has to feel this way, when dealing with such an important subject, which affects all of us! So, I had to proceed carefully, etc.

Going back to the Stone Age of 2003, and I contemplated all of this, I did so for about six weeks, and I went back and forth with the idea, as to whether I should go forward with the idea at all. So, I placed all of it on the back-burner for a few weeks, as I tried to make a decision on the matter. The second problem I had, was how I could blend humor with mental illness, and do it in a respectful and dignified way. Experts tell us, that being able to laugh at ourselves, at all the "crazy" and "insane" things we all do is good for us...it's therapeutic! I don't know if I had the courage to attempt this or not.

I decided to go forward and open the Funny Farm, but I would do it in a serious manner, and leave out the humor, because I frankly, didn't know what to do or how to handle it. Weeks went by, and things went well...I was not flamed nor did I get emails of hate! The opposite happened, as a few awards came down, which nourished my soul, and I was relieved that I could go forward with such an important issue.

One day, I was surfing around in the Homestead (host) clip-art library, working on an article I was writing, and I stumbled onto the cutest little straight-jackets I've ever seen! I knew right away, I was going to bring in these little straight-jackets in and put them to work. This is the point where humor would come into the Funny Farm, and I would now open the Funny Farm Gift Shop, where these little cute straight-jackets would be on display, etc. I made them "designer" straight-jackets in your favorite colors.

When I was down with hardship and heart-failure (2005), I was in a lock-down psychiatric ward myself for over three months, and it gave me great joy, when I put a smile on one of the other patient's face, which brought joy into their life, even if it were just for a few seconds! So, now I would try to blend mental illness with all the joys of humor, always remembering that I had to find a way to do it in a respectful and dignified way!

I decided not to throw a bunch of jokes in the Funny Farm, for that would be tacky, cheesy and dis-respectful! I decided to talk about the positive and healing power of humor and what clean humor means to all of us! This was my starting point in blending humor with mental illness...the benefits of humor in the HEALING PROCESS! And, by doing it this way...I was very excited about the project!

I read a newspaper article recently, whereby stress and depression in the work place are at an all-time high. No wonder...as we live in a greedy society, whereby many people can barely make it from paycheck to paycheck and can't save for the future! This is putting a lot of stress on families of all sizes! I encourage everyone to get the health-care they need...physical and mental healthcare! THERE'S NOTHING TO BE ASHAMED ABOUT!

Tips for your Outdoor Stairway Lighting

By Frederic Madore

With the proper Outdoor stairway lighting you will have both an aesthetic and security access to your property or business.

In our modern Society there is a wide variety of outdoor stairs and there is also a very wide choice of outdoor stairway lighting. Your first concern should be to provide security. Nobody likes traversing stairs in the dark, especially if your not empty handed. As the years goes by many people renovate their houses by adding decks. Adding Outdoor Stairway lighting to these dark areas might be a very good aesthetic and safe choice.

The amount of outdoor stairway lighting you want will determine the type of light you need. There are multiple types available:

- Poles attached near the steps- Wall mounted stairway lighting- Miniature flood lights- And lots more…

One of the most common problems associated with outdoor stairway lighting is to have a power source available which can be hard and impossible for some. If this is your case, and you don’t want to spend the extra money it would cost to get a power source, you could look for solar powered lamps. They are very easy to install and they require no knowledge of electricity.

Automation is the way to go for low cost Outdoor Stairway Lighting

Even if you are not using solar power lights, there is a real advantage to having your outdoor stairway lighting connected to an automatic sensor. Having them turn on at dusk and off at daybreak can provide the light you need, but only when it is most needed. And in the case you don’t want to use or burn your lights when no one will see them or benefit from them, you can always use a timer to solve that problem. On top of that most of them can be connected to a simple on and off switch, so having an automatic sensor really is a must.

One very popular choice would be to add flush-mounted lights that can be fitted into the riser of stairs. Unfortunately installing this type of outdoor lighting is not without problems. TO do this you will need carpentry skills and electricity skills. This type of installation is usually the business of professional which makes it more expensive. If you intend to do this alone make sure you do it properly otherwise you could experience electrical problems.

Another popular outdoor stairway lighting would be the use of short lamp-style fixtures. Depending on the style of your house and your landscape this could be a very wise choice, providing you with safety and security to your outdoor spaces. Whatever style you choose you can only benefit from outdoor stairway lighting it will make your house look better at night but most importantly you wont have to navigate steps in the dark.

What Do Celebrities Do To Reduce Wrinkles?

By Gisele Brosnan

Ways of reducing wrinkles is something most of us will want to consider as we age. That said, most celebrities seem to be doing an amazing job at reducing wrinkles. True, they have a team of beauty professionals, but there are some very basic and very essential things you can do to reduce premature aging as much as possible.

If you don’t have a Celebrity status or a Celebrity skincare monthly budget or a Celebrity beauty team, consider these anti-aging skincare tips to help you look as young as you feel:
1. Eat more super aging fighting foods: fill your day with dark green vegetables, deep reds, orange colors and more. Consuming these products will give your body the nutrients and the antioxidants it needs to keep your blood flowing. This helps to keep your skin hydrated and fighting off wrinkles.

2. Wear protective sun screen any time that you come into contact with the sun is a MUST!!! Even in the winter or on overcast days, the UV (ABC) rays come through and your skin needs protection. The sun is the #1 cause of 80% of early wrinkles.

3. Exfoliate. If you allow your skin to have a fresh start weekly, then it will always look young. There are many creams and washes that can be used to provide this help to you, too.

4. When considering wrinkle creams, look for those that contain Vitamin A, Vitamin C and Vitamin E in them. These are ideal for helping to fight off the wrinkles and restoring life to your skin again.

5. Remove makeup and excess oils from your face often. If you don’t allow your skin the health that it needs, you will find yourself in trouble with wrinkles. Don’t dry out your skin, either, though. Removing the debris from your pores is a must for healthy looking skin and fewer wrinkles.

Although there are no products that can guarantee that they will allow you to remove the wrinkles on your face and neck, there are many ways that you can improve the skin quality that you have. If you seek out a high quality product and practice good health standards, the end result is a better looking you.

How to Design Your Life the Way You Want

By Jim Somchai

Life is interesting. It has many ups and downs. It contains both happiness and sadness. It have so many ingredients that we can enjoy watching it if we are the viewers. However, it may not be fun if we sit watching our own lives be in a miserable phase. In order to design the good quality life, we need to understand the simple principles of life. It is not designed to give what you want.
It is designed to give what you deserved. Therefore, we need to be qualified to live an excellent life. Is it very difficult? Fortunately, there are evidences and extensive researches showing that we can effective design our lives. Thousands of people have successfully done this and you can do it too. Success will come if you are serious about it.

The six principles for designing your life include:

1. Set up your mission. Your mission should be short and concise. It could be memorable enough for you to remember and use it all the time. Pick up the best one that motivates you. Your mission can be adjusted along the way until you find out who you really are. But it will be your guideline in designing you life. Make affirmation on your mission every time you have a chance. Write it in your heart and soul. Carry it around with you wherever you go. If you are serious enough, it will become part of you. And you will become part of your mission.

2. Set up your life plan. You should have a plan for your life. There should be both short term and long term plan. Your master plan does not have to be in details. We will use our master plan to be the guideline of our action plans. Action plans should have all details that they need to have. Failing to plan is planning to fail. "If you don't have a plan for pleasure, you will have pain."
Said Tony Robbins in his book "Awaken the Giant Within. The good plan will have target, actions and time bound. Make sure that your plan has all attributes needed.

3. Be excited. This is similar to the state that many gurus said "Peak State". We need the right emotion to drive our actions. Excitement can effectively drive you thorough the life designing process. If you are excited on what you are doing, you will perform your best. This is the key to success. Every morning we will wake up with energy and enthusiasm. We will treat the day as it is the best day of our life. We are ready for everything that is going to happen no matter favorable or miserable.

4. Focus on what you want. There will be the time that things mess up. A lot of time things are not in the way we want. Actually, most of the time it will be. If you understand the process of success, you will know that this is part of the process. Failure is part of success. Many failures mean you do something to approach your target. Do not focus on your failures. Focus on your desired life instead. Emphasize in your mind on your target. Be fulfilled no matter what results come out.

5. Keep momentum. Do not stop what you have to do until you succeed. Do not let somebody say that your target is impossible. They can say it and you can just simply ignore it. Once you start the ball rolling, keep it that way. Make sure that you do the necessity until it becomes your habit. Habit will form your character and character will master your life. It is important that you keep your momentum until you get the life you want to have.

6. Visualization. Visualize that you already possess your desired life. See everything fits into the places you want them to be. Take some time every morning to visualize. Daily visualization will attract the situation and attributes favorable to your achievement according to the law of attraction. You can accelerate the process by using attraction accelerator background sound available in the market. It will help you achieve the life you want faster from visualization.

The Audition - Proving You Have Talent

By Tim Waddell

Now, Talent isn't something that can be easily demonstrated in 5 minutes. If you were an expert in fruit and vegetable carving and I gave you 5 minutes to prove it what would you be able to do? Not a lot!

You could show me pictures of work you had already completed and I might trust that you did it yourself. (Your resume) Or you could use those 5 minutes to impress me with a small part of what you can do. (An audition) By showing me that you knew how to handle the tools of the trade and could make a carrot end into a flower maybe you could convince me to hire you to carve centerpieces for the table at my wedding out of melons.

An audition is exactly the same. It is a practical interview. Whether or not you are required to present a resume and photograph (and I'll come back to the do's and dont's of those in a later lesson) it is no good relying on how good your Publicity Shot is or how much great past experience you have. What counts is the next 5 minutes - the practical interview - your audition. Your chance to show you have TALENT. And talent is a combination of Ability and Sparkle.

REMEMBER: At an audition a director is looking for the spark that indicates you have talent not necessarily the full living proof.

What the director sees at audition is not expected to be the final performance but a suggestion that you will be able to deliver the goods once the rehearsal process is complete. Therefore, if you can't do the basics like deliver a line, speak up, make eye contact or look confident when you are nervous under the pressure of auditions why should he believe that you can do it on performance night, when 30,000 people could be watching you.

"I'm nervous at auditions" is not an excuse to under perform. You will be nervous on first night before the curtain goes up but are you going to go out and make a fool of yourself in front of an audience; or run out the stage door and leave the production to carry on without you? Of course you're not.

The biggest chunk of the audition ‘score' is always going to be based on your "Ability" so it is important that you collect every single mark you can based on your ‘natural gift'. Now we'll come back to this part of your audition in detail later and look at how to get into ‘character', break down a scene or monologue and deliver a winning performance. For now though let's talk about the basics:

Fight or Flight
There is a magic elixir in the body of each and every one of us called Adrenaline. Adrenaline kicks in when we are nervous or put in a challenging situation. It is found in all animals and is linked to what is called The Fight or Flight response.

Adrenaline increases our state of alertness, gets the blood coursing through our veins and empowers us with strength and abilities we never had so we can run faster, lift heavier weights and achieve moments of greatness when the pressure is on and we are in a state of alert.

In the animal kingdom it allows beasts to respond in one of two ways - To ‘Fight for Survival' or ‘Run the Heck Away' as fast as they are able and save their tail! Hence "Fight or Flight."

Successful actors, singers and performers harness the power of adrenaline to give the best performances they can give. When they feel the onset of nerves (stage fright) they FIGHT. Few, if any, successful actors, singers and performers let their nerves overcome them and choose FLIGHT. Why? Because these are the people who never passed the audition! Simple isn't it.
So the third rule is this:

Rule #3

"Harness your nerves and use the adrenaline rush to over-perform not under-perform at your audition."

In short - think of your audition as a performance; go out there and knock ‘em dead!"
That may sound too easy because, as you know, nerves can do funny things to your body but look at it this way - if you can't do it for the audition why should the casting director believe you can do it in front of an audience or camera crew.

Look at your audition as your first day on a new job - you don't have to be perfect but you have to show the right attitude and enough potential to make them keep you on! We'll come back to how to channel your audition nerves and focus your energy later in the course. For now just remember this.

Tim Waddell has been working in theater his whole life. His duties have included actor, director, choreographer, musical director and artistic designer on productions across the world. He now runs theater acting programs and trains especially in audition technique. His blog is http://www.Mediatricks.com His new ebook, The Ultimate Audition Guide, is now available exclusively from http://www.WinThePart.com

Do You Make These Five Mistakes Hosting Your Afternoon Tea Party?

By Sharon Mahoney

An afternoon tea party owes its roots to Anna Russell, the Seventh Duchess of Bedford, who began a simple event with friends in the 1840's. The idea caught on with more royalty and soon even the working class held tea parties across London. These tea parties are still very popular today across the world and carry proper, formal traditions.

Having your own tea party is a great way to connect with friends, family and neighbors.
However, you can be easily embarrassed if you don't watch out for five common mistakes. When you hold your tea party, do you make these five mistakes?

Invitations: What Not to SayIf you want your guests to arrive prepared, make sure their invitation states that they are invited for an afternoon tea party. Don't put down the wrong date or the wrong time. Don't invite your guests for a cup of coffee. A tea party serves tea. It may seem silly to point this out, but you would be amazed how easy people get off track.

Timing: When Not to Schedule the Tea PartyDon't schedule the tea party in the morning or evening, or even the early afternoon. Depending on the region, afternoon tea is served from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Henry James wrote, "There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as an afternoon tea." Make sure to schedule the party at an afternoon time that will give your guests a chance to take a break during a busy day and socialize with each other.

What Not to DrinkDon't serve coffee, lemonade, wine, beer or other drinks at your tea party. You would be surprised how often an afternoon tea party is planned without thought to the beverage that will be served, the tea. Since there are different tastes, offer your guests a wide range of black teas from around the world. Make sure that you have enough tea to go around;
don't be embarrassed by not having enough to drink. Keep your guests' tea cups full of tea, your trays filled with delectable treats, and be a gracious hostess.

What Not to EatDon't serve pizza, popcorn, cotton candy, spaghetti or other entrees at your tea party. Traditionally, a full Afternoon Tea serves very light, delicious and small treats, like tea sandwiches, cookies, scones, cucumber slices, and even sardines. An afternoon tea party should include a variety of bite-size, dainty sandwiches with the crusts removed, a variety of home made cakes and pastries, freshly baked scones with whipped cream and jam.

What Not to UseDon't set out styrofoam or paper cups and expect to please your guests. And if you have a motley collection of tea cups, keep them in the cupboard. An afternoon tea is a formal affair, so it's time to put out your finest china, shined silverware and best linens. If you would like a memorable tea party, when you invite your girlfriends, ask them to bring their favorite tea cup and saucer.

Steer clear of these five mistakes and your guests will have a pleasant time at your party.
Lastly, don't get caught up so much in the details that you forget to have fun. An afternoon tea party is a social event for you to bond with your friends. Make sure to drink deeply of the gift of your relationships.

Giving Birth to Higher Life Forms

By Sally Edwards

I’m looking at my two teenage boys sitting on the sofa as they watch reruns of “The Daily Show”. At ages 14 and 15, respectively, they are both gaining height as rapidly as I gain width from mid-life bulge. . Steven is a natural talker, a natural laugher, a definite people person.
Brendan at 15, is so highly intelligent that his innocent questions in the car at age five brought all conversation to a halt. “Mom, why do people say “one egg” but “zero eggs? “ “Mom, what matter do you think black holes are made of?” He followed through in life by getting a 98% on his PSATs.

“Earth to Mom!” My 13 year old daughter, Christine walks towards my desk in the family room and is radioing in. “Mom, what are you thinking about?”

“I was thinking about those earthlings over there that I gave birth to. How’d did they get bigger than me and smarter than me? When I met them they were only 23 inches long. None of this makes sense. I’ve been on the planet longer. I should know more stuff and be able to do more stuff.””

“Mom, can I have a trampoline? The Burkes just got one.” Images of bounding children in neck braces crossed my mind. “No. I can’t take the chance that someone will get hurt in our backyard.” “But the Burkes got one!” “Christine, that’s because the Burkes have five kids and its cheaper than a babysitter. If two of them break their leg, they score an advantage of less mobility in the house.”

“Can I get a tattoo?” I gasped for breath. “A tattoo!” Christine answered me with conviction, “Yes. I’d like a tattoo of a little yellow rose right above my rear. I think it will look pretty with my bathing suit this summer.” I shook my head “No” but I knew Christine was not convinced. I realize that what young girls don’t understand is that with time and gravity that little yellow rose will grow into a giant sunflower. “But mom, tattoos are cool!”

Uh, oh – did she say “cool”? I reeled from yet another revelation. My children are bigger, smarter and COOLER than me. As I gaze back toward Jon Stewart as he wraps up another segment of irreverent political humor – the realization of all the joy of motherhood was clear. I had given birth to higher life forms! I’d given birth to three beautiful children who had become bigger, smarter and cooler than me. For this great gift, I am awestruck and forever thankful. In my prayers, I say, “Thank you God for giving me a little taste of your creation!”

The Challenges of Parenting Today

By Milos Pesic

Parenting today is a lot different from parenting a couple of decades ago. Our society is constantly evolving entailing various changes in the dynamics between parent and child.

Effective parenting today requires that the parent is fully aware of the world their children live in. Today’s world is highly technical, for one. Technology is very much part of our daily lives.
You will see eight year olds with their own cell phones. Most kids spend time chatting online than watching TV. Protecting your kids from online dangers such as child pornography is a major issue in parenting today that all parents must educate themselves on.

Media and the fascination with celebrities also wield greater influence in today’s society than ever before and these elements affect parenting today because they help shape a child’s views. It’s all about me, me and me in the modern world so it is not surprising that children grow up focused on themselves and whatever they want.

Child experts have said that children today are more advanced and mature than kids in the eighties, for instance. Children today start dating at a much younger age, often before they reach their teens and many fifteen year olds are already sexually active. These are just some of the hard issues of parenting today that parents need to address.

Another major concern in parenting today is the development of a child’s physical self-image, often compared to celebrities and models. More and more teenage girls want to undergo cosmetic surgery to enhance their physical appearance and look like the people they see in movies, TV shows and fashion magazines – their models of perfection.

This goal of becoming “perfect” also leads to eating disorders such as bulimia and anorexia in many teenager girls, which originates from poor self-image, insecurities and the constant message they get from media that being beautiful means being thin.

With all these challenges of parenting today, how can parents help and guide their children and keep them safe from harm? Communication, the basic principle of parenting, remains integral in parenting today. You need to verbally express your love to your children. Listen to them instead of lecture. Discipline in a firm but loving manner. Develop their self-confidence by allowing them to make simple decisions early in life and do not forget to praise their accomplishments or take note of their good behavior.

Build a strong foundation of love, respect, and self-confidence from the moment of birth so they will become well-equipped to make the right decisions on their own.

American Writers

By Russel Clark

America was first settled in the 15th century by the English who went to America to colonise it and set up permanent residence there. It was already inhabited by Native Indians and the colonists fought with them to gain ownership of the land. From the time of those first settlers there have been American writers who have documented life in America and written some classic books. Early authors who wrote mainly about life in the colonies are John Smith of Jamestown who wrote one of the most famous books entitled “A True Relation of…Virginia” in 1608. Other authors of the time include Daniel Denton, William Strachey and John Lawson.

From these early books came more religious books written which documented the various religious disputes of the time and writers of importance from this period are John Winthrop and William Bradford. Some poetry also existed and early American writers who wrote poetry were Anne Bradstreet and Edward Taylor are two famous examples of American writers of poetry.

Micheal Wigglesworth also wrote a best selling poem entitled “The Day of Doom” which describes the time of judgement, and Nicolas Noyes was well known for his doggerel verse. From these books and American writers the themes of books moved on to more political ideas and notions. Benjamin Franklin wrote a book called “The Autobiography of Benjamin Franklin” which was an esteemed work of wit and influence.

As time progressed so did the work of American writers and in the post-war period many writers such as Alexander Hamilton, James Madison and John Jay wrote in the The Federalist which were a group of essays that were a political and historical discussion of government organisation and republican values.

The writer who is sometimes thought of as writing the first great American novel is William Hill Brown and his book “The Power of Sympathy” (1789) is thought of as a classic. As time went on more and more writers emerged and wrote about the American Civil war and other events that were of key importance in American life of that era. In the 19th Century two poets emerged that were to influence American writers for years. These two people were Walt Whitman who was a travelling, working man who’s greatest work was “Leaves of Grass” which used free flowing verse and lines of irregular length to depict the all-inclusiveness of American democracy.

The next influential poet is Emily Dickinson who lived a very sheltered life and never married.
She lived in a small town in Massachusetts yet her work was very unconventional for the time.
She incorporated wit, ingenuity into psychologically penetrating works or poetry. Many of her poems for example tend to dwell on death with a witty and mischievous twist. Then along came Mark Twain who wrote “The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn” and he set the standard for some time for American writers as he wrote with passion and honesty about the slave trade.

Then came the writers of the 1950s with authors such as William Boroughs and Jack Kerouac whos novel “On the Road” was and still is a best seller. For many people this book is the definitive “Road book” and has influenced many other writers since its publication. As shown America has produced some great writers all of whom have their own style and individual flair.

Ever Considered Christmas In Hawaii?

By Gabriel J. Adams

Mele Kalikimaka is the traditional Hawaiian greeting of Merry Christmas. Native Hawaiians had some difficulty with their pronunciation of the English version and nowadays Mele Kalikimaka is bandied about with delight every December, accompanied by popular Christmas carols and an original blend of Hawaiian style Christmas decorations. Santa is frequently spotted in Hawaiian gardens lounging about in an outrigger canoe, cocktail in one hand and toy sack in the other.

Palm trees are decorated with tinsel and Christmas stars, restaurants play Christmas songs and offer Christmas fare on the menu, and locals celebrate the festive season as they celebrate everything else in life, with enthusiastic abandon and faultlessly stylish hospitality.

Christmas only arrived in the islands along with the Europeans. Prior to that time, around December, Hawaiians gave their traditional thanks to mother earth for providing them with food (Makahiki) so Christmas festivities became an extension of their own celebrations. In those days the party lasted for around four months, which was quite useful as during the festivities wars were strictly prohibited and islanders minded their p’s and q’s somewhat. Sort of a friendly Hawaiian version of an ASBO.

With the arrival of other nationalities at Christmas, Hawaii began to include guests’ traditional delicacies and treats in the Christmas menu, adding sushi, lumpia, tamales and even coconut pudding to the selection.

At Christmas you might find yourself invited to a lu’au in your neighbour’s backyard, where they might offer imu – a pig roasted in an underground pit – not the sort of thing you would serve on toast one supposes! Imus continue far into the night, lit by the Hawaiian version of Christmas lights and rocking to the sound of ukuleles and guitars.

Sounds great doesn’t it. And the best thing about Christmas in this part of the world is the clement weather, so the kids can still spend time on the beach, the sand and surf is still on offer and there are still loads of things to do during the day. In Hawaii, Santa arrives in a canoe, barefoot, sun lotion in hand, and with his trousers rolled up. Well why not?
