Ready To Sell Your Timeshare? - Here Is What to Do

By David Faulkner

Are you ready to rid yourself of the timeshares you bought? Want to feel the freedom of not having them? Continue down the page…

More than once, you have found the desire in your heart, to sell the timeshares for a multitude of reasons. It could be that you just do not like the area anymore or you are ready to move on and freeing up the money will lead to improved ventures. Putting the timeshare up for sale is not as simple as the buying part of it. Realize that location, the resort name, the dimensions of the space, the season and how the ownership is done, are grave factors that influence e your sale. Never the less, the timeshares that are kept up in some of the better and more popular resorts will be an easy task for you to sell. The units being bigger will also be a plus. Ownerships under a deed will be much smoother sailing than other types of limited ownership.

The difference in needing and taking is the middle ground for selling timeshares because the need is far bigger than those taking it are. The amount of money being asked for it is a necessity in the selling power of the unit. These timeshares should be bought for the vacation in mind and not to make extra money on the side. You will have a rude awakening if you try to do this. You might be sorely disappointed when you learn that you are going to lose money on the sale. If you are lucky, you might get half. Do not compare timeshares to that of an apartment because it is very different. Timeshares are everywhere, apartments are centrally located.

It your price is good and falls within the market price, you could follow the rules and know that the past resale and the current resale may be from the same resort property. It will behoove you to advertise in many types of media to gain much exposure. The price for this advertising should be small to make the sale even more profitable for you. Thinking about a resell company?

Make sure they provide you with adequate advertising. Do not venture into deals with any such companies that are expecting you to have an appraisal done for resale value or for demand of the fee. Any good resell company will tell you at the beginning what the timeshare is valued at by the ones around it. Advertising should be done generously on any internet site that will allow it to be. You might even be able to list the timeshare as an auction. You can also try the boards or newsletter from the resort where you hold the timeshare.

My basic vantage point is to make sure you are real with pricing, advertise much, and enjoy the time you have left in your timeshare.

Finding Termites In America

By David Faulkner

Termites in America are destructive and annoying insects that we have to contend with to protect our homes and buildings. Although they appear harmless, they can destroy a wood structure in no time if left untreated. Many areas of the United States have horrible infestations and termites have caused millions of dollars in damage. Because people normally do not know they have termites until it has become a bigger problem, termite infestation can cause many buildings to sustain structure damage beyond repair. Some people believe they have white ants, when in reality, they have termites.

If you have more facts about termites, you will have a better understanding of the problem. If this problem does not catch your attention quickly, you will see damage to your home or building that may cost you more money to fix than it costs to rid your building of the termites in America.

Here you will see the four groups of termites in America:

• Dampwood Termites- This breed of termites has the largest population of termites in the United States with a length of one inch for adults. This type of termite is found on the Pacific Coast in places like Florida where they feed on the wet woods such as pilings and poles. This American termite does not tunnel in mud and have oval shaped feces.

• Subterranean Termites- This type of American termite is the most common species that finds its way to buildings and structures made of wood. If the building is in contact with soil, they find their way to the building from their underground nests. When this termite matures, it will grow wings.

• Drywood Termites- This termite infests drywood and are a bit bigger than the
Subterranean termite. These termites have wings and fly from destination to
destination.

• Powderpost Termites- This type of termite feeds on floors and furniture along with your woodwork. They are smaller than other termites and are similar to the drywood termite.

Termites in America exist everywhere, but with proper knowledge about the pest and what they look like and what they can do, people can protect themselves from an infestation before they damage your building and belonging. It comes in handy to know the winged typed and the non-winged types of termites. If you do have termites in America, you will want to contact an exterminator promptly before they do so much damage that you will need structure work as well as replacement of your belongings.

Do You Need A Spiritual Teacher?

By Sheri Rosenthal

Many people have asked me my opinion on having a teacher on a spiritual path. Like everything else in life, there are only points of view as to whether this choice is the best one for you. All I can do is reflect my personal experience regarding having a teacher and what I feel the benefits and problems are of engaging in this kind of relationship.

First and foremost, a teacher is someone who has been down the same road that you are traveling – albeit at least a few miles ahead of you. They understand the pitfalls and the roadblocks, and can assist you in making your path easier and less painful. They can comfort you with the knowledge that many people have walked this road before and survived, no matter how difficult the path may appear to you in the moment.

Second, a teacher can reflect things to you that you would never see in yourself – at least not without a lot of self-honesty, which is hard to find when we are first on our spiritual path. Denial is most often our companion and we avoid what we fear is painful, even if we are doing it subconsciously. The point is that a teacher has more awareness and can see through the mental and egoic strategies that we eagerly justify and defend.

Third, a teacher creates a safe and supportive environment to allow us to open our hearts and minds in, giving us the opportunity to explore aspects of ourselves we would normally avoid. A good teacher will not use anything we have shared against us or to hurt us, and above all will not manipulate us with that information. This is not unlike the relationship we have with our doctor – what is discussed in the treatment room stays in the treatment room.

The dangers of such a relationship are found when a teacher has not totally cleaned their ego-mind and still has the tendency to want to use people and situations for their personal benefit. The flip side of this issue is that many times the student does not understand the teacher’s point of view because they can only see from their limited point of view. They then judge the teacher, not totally understanding their intent or the bigger picture. In these moments it helps to speak to other students who have been down the road before for clarity – one way or another. The purpose of your spiritual path is to increase your personal power, self-love and self-worth, not to give it away to others.

Other dangers involve becoming attached to a teacher feeling that if they were to leave you that you would never achieve enlightenment. This is just another appearance of “I am not good enough” manifesting itself in another guise. There is an old Chinese proverb that says: Teachers open the door, but you must enter by yourself. A teacher can be a mirror for you, they can reveal many hidden aspects of your mind, and they can point out many of your habit behaviors that are causing you pain in your life. But in the end they cannot do anything for you. You must do it for yourself. Anyone who promises otherwise is a danger to you.

For me, having a teacher has been an incredible blessing in my life. He taught me what unconditional love was through action – not through words. He reflected to me the love and blessing that I am, revealing the lies that I am not. He gave me words of support when the path was dark and encouraged me when I thought I would never make it. He was brutally honest with me, since there was benefit or investment in lying to me. He lent me his eyes to see the world through so that I could experience that life can be heaven on earth. And most importantly, he loved me just the way I was, with all my bad habits until I finally could express the light that I am.

Hopefully my words will be helpful to you and assist you in making a healthy personal choice. As always, I wish you the best on your path.

Dry the Basement Before Transforming It

By David Faulkner

Underground rooms are best if they do not contain any leaking that lets the wetness come in and cause harm to anything of value kept here. You definitely do not want the water to harm the betterment of the home or the people in it.

While the amount of the land value is going up quickly and individuals have to make sure that, they use whatever space they can in the best way available. Underground rooms are available for many different things just like any of the other space in the home, and are not a crazy idea to use it for a trendy and remodeled living room or possibly a toy space for the children. They have become more than hidden storage areas.

Transformations and water-sealing experts meet with different thoughts from the homeowners about what the underground room can be used for. These homeowners had the opportunity to by vintage homes because new homes being constructed have already zoned in on this available space.

The younger buyers are ready to buy a home they can change in ways to accommodate many different things. This is evident in the ideas and thoughts on how to transform the basement.
Nevertheless, it becomes necessary for the beginning job that needs to be accomplished when you decide to make your underground room into a new room. The main idea is to begin with a good base stone for the home. Any cracks or crevices in the base wall will give the opportunity for wetness to find its way into the underground spaces.

Keep in mind that this room is ordinarily wet and allows elevated amounts of humid weather that causes issues. Cement is, by nature, absorbent and if not sealed correctly, makes it easy to have a damp basement. This is normal for seasonal rain.

It is wise to watch the water supply lines closely for any leaks. This will give you a better chance of catching them quickly and not having a large amount of cash to spend. Knowledge lets us know that where the home is located can also contribute to the constant dampness. There have been times when the wetness was a result of a neighbor having leaks in the water pipes or drains.

It has been shown that Thoroseal use in the underground space results in harm because it allows the water to be caught inside the bricks. The problem worsens when the Thoroseal and the existing bricks were taken out of the home. Other homes showed damp winters and wet moldy summers.

Altogether, it is easy for you to transform your basement if you are able to do so. With the wrong water sealing technique, the job will be for nothing. Talk to a professional about providing you with a complete report before going further.

Direct Mail Fundraising is a Program, Not a Series of Mailings or a Campaign, Says Consultant

By Alan Sharpe

Before they hired me as their director of development, and before they ran out of money and laid me off, a non-profit organization whose name is unmentionable ran an unmentionable direct mail program.

It wasn’t a program as much as a series of last-minute campaigns. One particularly notorious campaign ran the Christmas before they hired me. As the inflexible deadline loomed to get their last donor newsletter of the year into the mail, the staff procrastinated and put out fires in other departments until the deadline came and went but the newsletter didn’t.

The organization got so far behind that the drop-date for the year-end appeal arrived and they still hadn’t dropped their final donor newsletter in the mail. So, to save money, or so they thought, the person in charge, if I may use that term, decided to mail both the newsletter and the Christmas appeal letter at the same time. In the same package. The appeal letter was inserted into a number 10 envelope, and the envelope was nested into the newsletter, and the newsletter was inserted into a poly bag.

The mailing, as they say, tanked. What should have been their most successful direct mail appeal (Christmas) became their worst. They suspect that donors found the poly bag in their mail, thought that it contained only a donor newsletter, and laid it aside for reading later, or opened the bag and read a page or two before heading out the door to give their money to Wal-Mart.

I tell you all this by way of warning. Direct mail fundraising is not a campaign. It’s not a series of mailings. It’s a program. A direct mail fundraising program.

So what’s the vital difference between a direct mail program and a direct mail campaign?

1. Planned program, not ad hoc mailingsTo professional fundraisers, each letter they drop in the mail is not a one-off campaign or a “mailing” but simply one part of a year-long program, usually one that starts on January 1st and ends on December 31st. Raising money through the mail is complicated, expensive and time consuming. That’s why professional fundraisers plan their mailings months in advance.

2. Runs for 12 monthsUnlike other some fundraising methods (such as banquets), a direct mail fundraising program runs for 12 months. Donors are solicited many times during the year. The program relies heavily on past donors to repeat their gifts. New donors are identified and acquired each year.

3. Repeated every yearUnlike some forms of fundraising (such as capital campaigns), the annual direct mail fundraising program is repeated year after year. The program has a start, a middle and an end, and then repeats itself the next year.

If you want to attract donors, raise funds, retain donors and move donors up the giving pyramid, you need to get with the program.

The Perfume Atomizer: From Classic Collectible To Modern Convenience

By David Faulkner

Perfume atomizers have always been an odd mix of elegance and chemistry lab utilitarianism. The graceful scent bottles of old were produced in a variety of shapes and sizes and a variety of materials including m crystal, cut glass, porcelain and enamel, with delicate filigree, or gold, silver, and jewel accents, paired with Bunsen burner-like tops connected to small rubber turkey baster-like rubber bulbs. When the bulbs were squeezed, they sent a fine mist of perfume through the nozzle of the Bunsen burner-like top.

The De Vilbiss Perfume Atomizer
It all sounds rather cumbersome, but the perfume atomizer has been around in the US for nearly a century, ever since the doughboys of WWII brought exquisitely designed perfume spray bottles back to the US from France. The De Vilbiss Company of Toledo Ohio adapted their medical atomizers to the perfume dispensers, and by the middle of the Roaring Twenties the flappers of America were buying the perfume atomizer to the tune of a million a year.

The earliest De Vilbiss perfume atomizer held its perfume in a glass salt shaker, as they were the only suitable sized containers available in large enough numbers to meet the demand. But as business picked up, De Vilbiss would create a design for each perfume atomizer and send it one of the major glass factories to be turned into miniature glass works of art and delivered back to De Vilbiss for sale.

Perhaps the best known perfume atomizer from De Vilbiss was of Steuben Aurene glass, with its blue or gold iridescent finish. But their cranberry glass perfume atomizer with the rotten acid finish and gold overlays is also highly collectible, and there are many other De Vilbiss atomizers waiting for new homes in the antique shops and auction houses of America.

The Perfume Atomizer Today
While the perfume atomizer of today has sacrificed elegance for convenience, it remains an essential part of a woman’s travel kit. Resembling an extra large tube of lipstick when closed, the modern perfume atomizer, with its top removed has a spray nozzle cap like those on spray mousse cans. The cap can be unscrewed so that perfume can be poured into the base through a small funnel included with the perfume atomizer. Most of these atomizers hold between one and two ounces of perfume, which should be enough to last for two to four weeks of travel.

The perfume atomizer is ideal for storing perfume, because it does not have to be opened once it is filled, and keeps evaporation to a minimum. It also allows the user to spray a fine mist of perfume into the air and simply step through it, achieving an even distribution of perfume over her body instead of having it concentrated at the pulse points. And it’s a great way to turn a signature body scent into a signature air freshener!

Presentations - Top Ten Tips

By Anne Hickley

Like most of my tips articles this article will sometimes seem to state the obvious be believe me, these are all mistakes I’ve seen made in presentations by eminent speakers!
  1. Do make sure you have not only prepared what you want to say but also practiced saying it, preferably to a small audience (family and/or friends). That way you will ensure your talk doesn’t run over time (or come in under time which can also be embarrassing!)
  2. Know what’s expected of you – make sure know how much time you’ve got, whether that includes question time, whether the preferred format is questions throughout or at the end etc.
  3. If possible know your audience – what questions might they ask? Are they likely to be for or against the points you’re making in your talk?
  4. Do use slides but don’t use PowerPoint as a crutch! Use the slides to show key points in a succinct format rather than showing your talk word for word!
  5. Don’t paste graphs or diagrams into PowerPoint without checking that they will actually be readable as a slide.
  6. Aim for about one slide for every two to three minutes of speech, or even less, unless your presentations is particularly visual e.g. on an arts subject
  7. Keep any slides you do use uncluttered.
  8. Don’t overuse animation – words ‘flying’ in from above, one side etc. Some of this can be very effective but too much is distracting and irritating to the audience
  9. Try to use slides more imaginatively than just bullet-pointing what you’re saying, although within limits such bullets can be a useful summary.
  10. Make sure you know what audio-visual equipment will be available at the venue you’re speaking at and how they want you to bring presentation materials e.g. CD, floppy, email in advance, on your own laptop

It can be time consuming and also cost you some money depending on where you go to get your language lessons done. So it must be something you’re willing to do and see through until the end. As it is an investment in you on all fronts personally. Remember it all begins and ends with you. How much you put into it you will get back twofold.

How can I learn to speak Spanish? Ferranti Night Vision Goggles

By Ricky Lim

Ferranti International are renowned for making night vision goggles for the British Military. The most well known pair of Ferranti night vision goggles available today are the Nite-Op NVGS. These particular goggles are a more advanced version of their ANVIS night vision goggles which the British military used to rely on.

In fact the design of the Nite-Op is basically the same as the ANVIS although they have a much craggier mounting system and they provide the user with a wider field of viewing. Plus the lenses on these night vision goggles are much wider in terms of the diameter which provides the wearer with a lot more comfort when being worn.

Actually, all types of night vision goggles are very similar in that they will all contain certain components in them. The main components that you will find in any type of night vision goggles are as follows:-

1. Image Intensifier

2. Objective Lens System

3. Eye Lens System

But although all night vision googles contain these 3 main components within their manufacture, how they are created and then engineered will result in a difference in how effective the goggles really are. Although they are most commonly used to help a person improve their viewing capabilities at night they are now being used in helping with search and retrieval tasks.

When looking for a good quality pair of night vision goggles whether it be a pair of Ferranti night vision goggles or a pair made by another manufacturer such as Bushnell it is important that you learn as much about them as possible.

Certainly once you start reading up on the various models available you will find a lot of sites offering a short description along with a list of the various features that each model has to offer the wearer. By learning more about the various features on each model you will be better able to understand their capabilities and what the quality of the images are like. Therefore it is best to take your time learning as much as you can about each model prior to make any final decisions on which pair it is you wish to purchase.

Vietnamese Art - Taking the World On Its Stride

By Suzanne Macguire

The art scene of Vietnam has taken a few giant leaps in recent years. The Doi Moi has constantly been a source of inspiration for the new generation of artists. Besides, the country has also done well in establishing a communication with the outside world thus allowing the artists to present their artworks to the world. Creation of newer opportunities has strengthened the confidence of the young artists who are constantly striving to introduce innovations in their art works. For long, Vietnam artists have drawn in from the traditions of China, France and Russia. There are instances of oil paintings on themes of village and women folk. A love for the city of Hanoi is particularly reflected in a number of these paintings; the image of the deceased painter, Bui Xuan Phai, serving as inspiration to the new breed of Vietnam artists.

Portrayal of emotions has been institutional in drawing the attention of art lovers, especially from the West. The modern Vietnam artists, Hong Viet Dung in particular, has done a great job by moving away from simple subjects to depicting human emotions. These emotions convey a wide range of feelings with an affinity towards loneliness, despair, sorrow, or other woeful experiences of life. On the other hand, artists such as Dao Hai Phong, Le Thanh Son and Pham Luan are drawn towards what might be called the 'romantic style'. Use of highly attractive colors in these paintings makes them appealing, especially to the foreigners who reside in the gray, urban monotonous environment. Portrayal of abstractions has been done excellently by Nguyen Trung, thus testifying to the spirit of Vietnam artists to take up fresh challenges. However, there is one area, which has not yet been chiefly touched by the modern artists. This is the area of socio-political criticism, which has been widely used by Western artists as their art themes.

Speaking of the more innovative art techniques, the Vietnamese lacquer paintings deserve a special mention. Lacquer paintings have turned out to be a great favorite with the art lovers.

Painters like Dinh Quan, Trinh Tuan and Cong Kim Hoa have contributed immensely to the lacquer tradition. The synthesis of traditional lacquer painting and modern painting is now being widely acclaimed. Production of lacquer paintings is time consuming but the result always turns out to be an exquisite masterpiece.

The art scenario of Vietnam has witnessed a sea change over the years. The Vietnamese art market has been successful in drawing art connoisseurs from all over the world on account of its excellent quality and innovation. Being a dynamic art scene in comparison to other countries, Vietnam has produced some of the greatest masterpieces of modern art. The future of Vietnamese art certainly seems bright. Hopefully, Vietnam artists will live up to the high standards set for themselves and let the world recognize the true worth of Vietnamese contemporary art.

How to Combat Rising Car Insurance Premiums

By Simon Christopher

Although car insurance premiums have been steadily rising in the UK, there are some tried and tested steps you can take to ensure a competitive quote at renewal time.

Know What Cover You Need
The first and most important step is to know exactly what type of motor insurance you need together with any added extras and excess levels. Everyone has different driving habits, history and needs so only you can judge what options and cover levels are right for you. Many drivers never look at their car insurance policies until they need to claim, so break the habit of a lifetime and dig out your current and any previous policy documents to see exactly what you have paid for in the past. The question you should be asking is do you need all of the options and bolt-on protection that some comprehensive policies provide? Maybe you'll be surprised at the lack of protection you have out on the road and want to extend your cover. Whatever you decide is or isn't needed, write it down.

Shop Around for Maximum Savings
Armed with a firm idea of what you are looking for you can shop around with confidence and compare like with like more easily. The fastest and easiest way to do this is online using quotation or price comparison websites. Alternatively, if you don't feel confident buying cover online or if you need advice, use an insurance broker who has access to the whole market and can do the leg work for you. If you're happy buying car insurance online it's important to remember to stick to the same type and levels of insurance so that you can get fair comparison quotes.

Maximise Your Discount
Whether you use a price comparison site or quote engine, narrow your selection down to two or three companies and approach them directly to confirm the premiums and cover are correct. Contact your shortlist and ask about any new customer premium discounts and do your best to haggle the price down. Also remember to consider quotes from insurers you already have other types of cover with such as home or breakdown insurance. Many online providers now offer discounts for existing customers anywhere from 5% to 20%. This can also apply if you are a member of any associations, specialist groups or work unions.

Reduce the Risk of a Claim
One of the most effective ways to consistently reduce your motor insurance costs is to reduce the risk of a claim. As the two most common reasons for motor claims are accidents and theft, you can reduce the risk by improving your driving abilities through advanced driver training and ensuring your vehicle is secure and parked in a safe location at night. Another tip is to give more thought to your annual mileage when applying for a policy rather than guessing and declaring more miles than you actually drive just to be sure. Remember, statistically, the less miles you do the less risk there is of a claim.

By following these few simple steps, you can save yourself a lot of money and combat the rising cost of car insurance premiums.

Strategies for Success: 9 Ways To Be More Creative

By Lisette Howlett

We all know how essential creativity and creative thinking is to business success. Being creative is not always coming up with new or niche ideas it is also about positioning old ideas in a new way, or finding a solution to a problem that makes you faster, better, cheaper.

This mlh global hr consulting strategies for success article proposes 9 ways you can be more creative

1. Avoid self imposed barriers. These can be imposed on ourselves consciously or unconsciously. They are particularly difficult to recognise but relatively easy to correct. Try asking yourself – what would be an ‘out of the box’ solution; what would xx do? Try brainstorming different ideas – follow the brainstorming rules – nothing is too outrageous to go on the list. Talk to others, particularly people who you think are creative, and get insights into how they think though problems.

2. Try thinking of more than one answer to everything. When you select your preferred solution check this against personal norms – was it predictable that you would choose this solution?

3. Avoid Conformity. Try thinking – ‘what would be totally outrageous to my collaborators, my customers, my suppliers, my network, my friends?’ If you do come up with a radical or different idea think carefully about how you introduce it – using good process, stakeholder identification and different influencing techniques mean that you can ease in a solution that might otherwise be rejected.

4. Challenge the obvious. It can be tempting to find and use the most obvious answer as there is a lot of effort required to challenging the obvious solution.

5. Try to consciously think broadly and long term – even if you use analytical thinking to do this. Practice with mind maps and other visual tools that encourage non linear thinking. Try the paradigm question: “What is impossible to do right now but if you could do it would fundamentally change your business etc”?

6. Avoid making up your mind too quickly which can eliminate possible solutions or areas of thought at too early. If your inclination is to say ‘this won’t work’ try instead to say ‘this will work if we do xx’ or ‘what would be the benefit if it did work’.

7. Experiment with people you trust and are comfortable with. Tell some collaborators that you are consciously trying to be more creative and so will be making more ‘out there’ suggestions. If you prepare your environment it feels safer and you are more likely to take risks.

8. Avoid cynicism and negativity. This will prevent people wanting or trying to put new ideas forward. Not only will this curb your own creative thinking but that of everyone around you. If you find you have tendencies in this way – try disciplining yourself to always think of one good thing about an idea BEFORE voicing any critique. Humour can also often unwittingly appear
cynical or negative, or intimidate others – think about how you use yours; and from time to time adjust it according to the needs of the people you are with.

9. Try using phrases such as:

• That sounds interesting, tell me more …
• That sounds interesting, let’s try it …
• I have never thought of it like that, thanks …
• It sounds off the wall, but I wonder how we can make it work …

Beware Of Lawyers Who Guarantee Results

By Philip R. Brown

Lawyers Cannot Guarantee Results. I don't care how good your lawyer claims to be, he or she cannot guarantee the outcome of your case. It just cannot be done. I frequently hear potential clients claim that another lawyer said, in the initial interview, that their case is a "slam dunk".

Indeed, personal injury victims have even informed me of apparently psychic attorneys that can place a value on their injuries before the attorney has even reviewed medical records.

Prospective clients should be very wary of lawyers who promise too much in the first interview.

Lawyers cannot predict the future. If a lawyer has the telepathic ability to guarantee your outcome, and you are absolutely certain that she is not lying to you, then hire that lawyer. In fact, if she has psychic power, you should also ask her to select your next investment.

In reality, a lawyer meeting you for the first time, cannot accurately predict the outcome of your case. There are literally hundreds of variables that will effect your case, many of which cannot possibly be determined in the initial meeting. For example, what kind of witness will you be?

You may be perfectly charming in the initial interview, yet fall apart under the pressure of prolonged litigation. How strong a witness will your opponent be? Has the attorney reviewed all of the material documents in your case? In my twenty one years of legal practice, I have had very few cases in which the potential client brought all material documents to the initial interview. Yet, without reviewing all of the material documents, it is virtually impossible to predict the outcome of a commercial case. If it is a personal injury matter, what do the medical reports say about the victim's injuries? It is virtually impossible to accurately value a personal injury claim without reviewing the extent of the physical injuries, as reflected in those reports.

If your potential attorney makes elaborate promises about the outcome of your case in your initial interview, you should not be happy, you should be concerned. An experienced, honest attorney will admit that there is no guarantee in our imperfect legal system. A lawyer that is upfront with you, and who knows what she is doing, will never value a case before examining all of the evidence.

When selecting an attorney, see who gives you straight advice. Often the best lawyer for you is the one who is honest enough to tell you the weaknesses as well as the strengths in your case. You wouldn't trust a doctor who told you that smoking was good for your lungs. Don't shop for the lawyer who is most willing to tell you what you want to hear.

Alpaca Rugs, Pillows & Bedspreads - A Natural Alternative for Decorating your Home, Lodge or Office

By Marc Loos

While hunting for decorating ideas, you may have heard about alpaca rugs and other home decor items made from alpaca, but still be unsure of what they are, or how they can be used. In this article, I will try to explain alpaca, and discuss the wonderful qualities and value it represents for people decorating their home, lodge or executive suite.

First of all, and to clear up any confusion, the word “alpaca” is used to refer not only to the animal, but also its wool, and its pelt. The wool is used to make clothing, while the pelts are used for a variety of quality home décor items such as rugs, throws, and wall hangings. As I will explain, the special qualities of alpaca make it highly desirable for these uses.

Alpacas are native to the alpine meadows, marshes, and grasslands of the high Andes of South America. Herds of alpaca graze almost wild there, on high plateaus thousands of feet above sea level. To survive in this harsh environment, the alpaca have evolved coats of incredible warmth and lightness. Alpaca's roots go back five or six thousand years, to when they were first bred (it is believed) from the wild vicuna for wool production. In their native countries, alpaca images can be found in cave paintings, on ceramics, jewelry, and carved in stone for ritual and decorative objects. In Peru, alpaca is considered a natural wealth, related in a very intimate way to its history and economy.

For most of known history alpaca have been herded by the Native Americans inhabiting the highlands of what is now Peru, Chile, and Bolivia. More famously, they were a pillar of the ancient Incan civilization, where alpacas were not only prized, but were 100% owned by the Incan government. Their fine, lustrous hair was woven into robes used by Inca royalty. The fleece was in fact, so revered that possession by commoners was considered a capital crime, and punishment for this crime could include death. Luckily, government attitudes have liberalized since then, and alpaca products are now widely available -- even to commoners!

So why all the excitement about alpaca? Turns out, alpaca is really something special. For one thing, alpaca wool is three times stronger and seven times warmer than even Merino sheep’s wool. Raised at high altitudes in freezing cold, the alpaca has developed more thermal capacity in its fiber than almost any other animal, creating garments that offer featherweight warmth. Its fibers contain tiny curls that give it a soft cushiony feel and provide air pockets that create insulation and warmth. In addition, alpaca is naturally fire-retardant and since, unlike wool it contains no lanolin or other oils, it’s hypoallergenic. Dust mites don’t like it, so they and their associated allergens stay away too. This lack of oils keeps dirt from sticking as well, so clothes and rugs, throws, and bedspreads made from alpaca stay cleaner.

Alpaca wool is ranked amongst the finest fibers by the fashion industry; alongside silk, mohair, and angora. It occurs naturally in an amazing variety of 22 different colors; from white, silver, creams, and ivories, to many browns, reds, grays, and total black. Alpaca fibers are straighter than sheep’s wool, not scratchy, and extremely rich and silky, with a fine luster. In fact, alpaca has a slippery, silky look and feel to put even fine cashmere to shame. Its combination of lightness, softness and warmth makes an alpaca rug, throw or bedspread a cloud-soft experience. And the strength of fine alpaca means that items made from it will remain an eye-attracting pleasure.

The alpaca was almost wiped out, along with their herdsmen by the Spanish Conquest. Today however there are almost three million alpaca in South America, with 85% of that number in Peru. Rather than a beast of burden, the alpaca is raised primarily for its wool, meat and milk.

Like sheep, they are sheared once per year to make sweaters and other garments. At a certain point, they are harvested as a food source and the pelt is used to make rugs, teddy bears, pillows, etc. The pelt is also salvaged when an alpaca fails to survive the harsh Andean winter or suffers an accident. So alpacas are not raised solely for their pelt as are mink, etc. The entire animal is used, as with sheep. The money derived from pelt sales is an important supplement to the income of the people in these regions.

The alpaca’s varied color palette is skillfully wielded by native artisans to create dramatic designs, both abstract and realistic to suit a wide variety of tastes and decorative motifs. Completely natural and handmade, no two products made from alpaca pelts are exactly alike. Check out 100% natural alpaca and explore the decorating possibilities!

The Blockbuster Benefits Of Selling Information On The Net

By Lewis Low

An entrepreneur on the Information Superhighway sells information, in fact, almost all successful online businesses sell information in some form or another. The most famous example is Bill Gates. He has become the one the richest man on Earth because he sells software, which is an information product.

So what’s the big deal in selling information products online? Let's check out some of the benefits in doing so -

1) Low Start-up Costs
In comparison to a traditional bricks and clicks business, an online business requires low start up costs. For example, a franchise will set you back as much as $500,000 or more just for the rights to get started. You can start your own information business for less than $1,000.

2) Low Inventory Costs
You keep little or no inventory. Most information products can be produced and compiled into electronic format. As you can see, today information products are ebooks, manuals, as well as software. You have no inventory cost except investing in some software in the first place. Compare that to a traditional publishing business which might cost you thousands of dollars just for printing, labor, storage, etc.

3) Zero Shipping Costs
Don't overlook the cost of shipping in a traditional business. Just imagine how much money you might lose if the order was returned due to credit card fraud, a customer request for a refund, or product damage during the course of shipping? On the other hand, the delivery of electronic information products is safe, it is instant, and it is online. The only costs you bear are for web hosting and insignificant credit card processing fees.

4) High Mark-Ups
Information products have a high mark-up because customers are not paying for the format in which the products are delivered. They are paying for the valuable information contained within. Actual production costs are irrelevant and can not be applied when dealing with these types of products.

5) Your Business Runs Entirely on Autopilot!
Your whole business can be set to run on autopilot, right from customer follow-ups, to taking orders, credit card processing, to products download, and delivery. The system runs 24/7, 100% automatically, while you work on other projects, or spend time on vacation with your family. That's really a dream business!

To kick start your online information selling business, you will need to have a set of your own high-demand products. You may want to create your very own product from scratch, or you can purchase resell rights to an existing product that already has demand. The latter will be a great option if you don't have the time or would rather save yourself the hassle of creating your own product from scratch.

In either case, be sure to do your own market research before attempting any course of action. This should prevent you from getting into buying or producing unwanted products or products without market.

The Top 11 Benefits Of Exercise

By James Mcconnell

So many people buy audio books to launch or improve their exercise regimen. After all, everybody wants to look great! But did you know that looking great is only one of the many benefits of exercise?
Daily exercise is a necessary ingredient in the recipe for optimum health. Here are just a few of the very important health benefits of daily exercise:
  1. Exercise is the number one stress reliever. When we feel stressed out, our bodies produce adrenaline as part of the fight-or-flight response. But we can't always jump on a treadmill the very second we feel stressed out. So all this stress ricochets around in the body for days on end with no outlet. Chronic stress can seriously compromise health over the long term. Exercise is the natural outlet for stress; that's why daily exercise is so important. The stress must have an escape route.
  2. Exercise lowers the risk for developing cardiovascular disease.
  3. Regular exercise lowers the risk for developing diabetes. Type 2 diabetes is becoming a global epidemic. In the United States alone, 18 million people are afflicted with diabetes; and it's on the rise in India and China. Diabetes can also lead to heart disease, stroke, high blood pressure and kidney disease. It can also cause nerve damage that can lead to gangrene and amputation.
  4. Daily exercise lowers the risk for stroke.
  5. Exercise lowers blood pressure.
  6. Exercising regularly strengthens the immune system. People who exercise regularly are less likely to catch colds and flu.
  7. Exercising boosts self-confidence.
  8. Exercise increases your overall energy level.
  9. Regular exercise improves your mood. And who doesn't want to feel happy?
  10. Daily exercise even improves your sex life! You have the self-confidence to show off your birthday suit, and your higher energy level is ready for the proverbial roll in the hay!
  11. Of course, exercising eliminates obesity, which is a high risk factor for developing cardiovascular disease and diabetes.

Daily exercise is crucial to our overall health and well-being. And there are so many types of exercise that are just plain fun, that you can enjoy right at home or in your neighborhood, and that the whole family can join in. Some examples include walking, bicycling, roller blading or yoga. And of course, there are all manner of sports: soccer, volleyball, basketball and tennis, to name a few.

You can learn even more types of exercises from audio books. Audio exercise books can help you look and feel your very best!

No matter how little time you have with an audio book you can listen:
  • On the go!
  • On a train
  • In the Car
  • On your Walkman/iPod
  • While in the Kitchen
  • While commuting to work
  • Even while you're exercising!

One Magic al Tip to Transform Your Daily Dialogue: Positive Verbal Language Makes All the Difference

By Asma Fayyad

Most of us are victims of negative emotions and that is certainly reflected on our daily communications, the verbal and the non verbal. Every morning we fall prey to food allergies, nightmares, sleeping disorders, pains and aches of the previous night. You see the world through rusty and hazy goggles; you wonder "when will I ever feel better about my life".

You start shouting at your husband, children and start posing a cinched nose towards everyone. You forcibly draw a smile on your face and start pretending that you are getting through the day just fine.

That is when you are in great danger of committing verbal abuse. You will tend to abuse your own verbal skills. Most people mistake being direct and honest with being negative and rude. You can always say the truth in a better way.

A simple example comes from your daily life. Let's assume that you want your husband to place his tooth brush back on the holder, what would you normally say? "Honey, please don't leave your tooth brush on the sink?" or "why do you always leave your tooth brush on the sink, can't you simply put it back on the holder?"

The minute you start your word with “DON'T” the person will stop listening to you, no matter how useful your feedback is.

Instead say something like "it would be a lot more hygienic if you kept your tooth brush away from the sink, it gets messy there. There is a holder on the shelf, you can put it there once you are done brushing"

This will sure take longer to say but note that there is not a single negative word in the sentence. The tip for today is

Start your talk with a positive word and lead your listener to understand rather than command him/her to do something.

Watching your mouth, minding your language not only means to avoid abusive words and expressions, it means "STOP, THINK, CHOOSE, then SHOOT" you hit your target better this way.

Online Jobs Save Time And Money Through Virtual Employment

By Mark Farrar

In old days, the companies used to conduct their business in physical buildings, whereby the employees had to travel physically to work for the company. However, with the globalization and the availability of advanced communication technologies such as teleconferencing, video conferencing and internet, the meaning of jobs associated with a physical location has changed. Online jobs have become the vogue, where employees need not travel to a specific location to work for their company.

Many new business opportunities came about due to the increased usage of the Internet for communication around the world and because of the advent of new e-commerce tools. In Internet businesses, people may conduct many new kinds of business online using these technologies. The availability of state-of-the-art e-commerce business solutions have made previously labour intensive jobs such as cash transfers, buying and selling semi automated and much less costly.

Nowadays, Internet is being used for a lot of business transactions. This opened the doors for online jobs. No longer employees need to travel to a certain location to conduct their business.
All they need is an Internet connection and a computer with necessary software. This would create a virtual office for each employee. Mobile computer devices such as palm tops and laptops have made life much easier for employees because they can conduct their business even while they are on the move.

Online jobs are very advantageous to employees as well as employers. They offer a win-win situation for both parties. For employers, they reduce the capital expenditure and man-power costs. For employees, they provide the job flexibility needed, saves the travel time and costs.

Employees can decide when and where they would like to work. Even house wives, pregnant women and physically disabled people can do these jobs. Overall, they increase employee productivity and result in improved bottom line for the companies.

Online jobs are a good challenge as well. Performance management and employee accountability becomes an important issue since traditional ways to manage employees won't work. They give a less controlled work environment that may not be suitable for all kinds of employees. These type of jobs may not be right when a team work is required. The human resource department has to become creative and come up with innovative ways to improve employee productivity and accountability.

In summary, online jobs are an effective and suggested way to move forward and execute successful business strategies. Internet business models provide unlimited new business opportunities with advantages unmatched by traditional brick and mortar businesses. If you can handle the challenges that come with the internet through creative problem solving, you can be successful against all competition.

Internet has heralded new business opportunities. Now you can work online from any location using an internet enabled computer. Internet jobs offer a win-win situation. For employers, they reduce expenditure and man-power costs. For employees, they provide the much desired flexibility. Employees can decide when and where they would like to work. Apart from cost advantage in getting the traditional tasks performed by online workers, internet business houses have also realized the value of crowd sourcing which can be done in the most proficient manner using internet. Surveys, article and report writing, voice-over recording, graphic designing etc. are some of the online jobs in vogue.

Rejection Of Goods In Hawaii Under The Uniform Commercial Code

By Philip R. Brown

Under the Uniform Commercial Code UCC, a breach of a sales contract may occur when a seller delivers non-conforming goods to the buyer. It is the buyer's burden of proof to establish this breach once goods are accepted. H.R.S. 490:2-601. Upon delivery and acceptance of goods, the buyer is obligated to pay the contract price to the seller. H.R.S. 490:2-401. Specifically, tender of delivery requires that the seller place and hold conforming goods at the buyer's disposition and give the buyer any notification reasonably necessary to enable him to take delivery. H.R.S.
490:2-503.

Upon delivery of a non-conforming good by the seller, the buyer has three options;
1) reject the goods,
2) accept the goods,
3) accept any commercial unit and reject the rest. H.R.S. § 490:2-601. For a buyer to adequately reject the goods, the goods must be truly non-conforming or the rejection will be considered wrongful and may give the seller “immediate remedies for breach.” H.R.S. §490:2-602 including comments.

A buyer may reject goods if they “fail in any respect to conform to the contract.” (H.R.S § 490:2-601) But that rejection “must be within a reasonable time after their delivery or tender”, and the buyer must “seasonably notif[y] the seller.” H.R.S. § 490:02-602. The importance of this provision cannot be overemphasized. A buyers failure to timely reject nonconforming goods has been found to constitute a waiver of the right of rejection. Also to be effective, a rejection requires a “clear and unequivocal act,” and not merely a request for cure. Matrix v Jolie, 2005 WL 1074774 at 6 (N.Y.City Civ.Ct., 2005), citing Hooper Handling, Inc. v. Jonmark Corp., 267 A.D.2d 1075, 1076 (N.Y.A.D. 4th Dept., 1999); Sears Roebuck & Co. v. Galloway, 195 A.D.2d 825, 827 (N.Y.A.D. 3d Dep., 1993).

The notice of rejection must be "clear and unequivocal". A buyer's “mere complaints” about the goods were not sufficient notice of rejection. If the buyer does not reject the goods pursuant to H.R.S. §490:2-602, then the buyer is deemed to have accepted the goods. H.R.S. §490:2-602.
Moreover, the buyer’s use of the goods and failure to return the goods regardless of his “mere complaints” constituted acceptance. Maggio Importato, Inc. v Cimitron, Inc. 189 A.D.2d at 664.
Mere complaints also are ineffective in revocation of acceptance. Swift Spinning Mills v. B&H Apparel, 2003 WL 942610 at 2 (S.D.N.Y., 2003) (“Although [buyer] may have informed [seller] that the denim streaked, there is no evidence that it revoked its prior acceptance. All denim has defects, and if a buyer wants to revoke acceptance of a fabric, it has to involve more than merely complaining of those defects.”).

This rule is also supported by H.R.S. §490:2-605 which requires a buyer to “state in connection with rejection, a particular defect” or risk waiving his objection to acceptance.

The UCC is a road map for buyers and sellers to follow in the event they have a dispute involving a contract for the sale of goods. A buyer or seller should state their objections to a transaction clearly, unequivocally and in writing. If it is cost efficient, consult with your attorney before proceeding. Retain copies of everything. These days, copies of email communication can be as valuable as any other writing. If you have any doubt whether it should be saved, print it out and show it to your lawyer.

Balancing Your Writing Life - Exercise Your Body

By Beth Barany

Is your life balanced? Do you work, rest, and play equally? If you’re a modern person, juggling writing, a day job, and a family, your response is: “What are you talking about?” Most likely, we need to move more*, play more and rest more.

Physical exercise is a wonderful counterbalance to the focused mental work and solitary lifestyle of a writer. Our work as writers needs to be first priority if we want to get our work done. Ironically, however, making time in our schedule to move reminds us that we are more than only the mind. We are of the body too.

Exercise is a great way to juice up your creativity and change your perspective on your writing. I see exercise as a form of play. Remember when you were a kid and you ran around playing tag or hide-n-go-seek until dusk? I assert that the right exercise for you can be that same kind of "in the moment" joy. All you need to do is re-discover what is the right kind of exercise for you.

After nearly three years of exercising regularly, I share my insight from the perspective of someone who had never exercised regularly before.

Step One - The Fun FactorFind an exercise that you love! Use your childhood passions for inspiration. How can you turn one or many of them into something you can do now? Bicycling, walking, swimming, running, yoga, one of the many forms of dance - the list is endless.

Step Two - Baby Steps Start out with brief, low-impact classes or short stints outdoors. Take walking, for instance: it’s simple, most anyone can do it, and the equipment investment is minimal. On Day One, take yourself to a nice place and walk for ten minutes. Enjoy your surroundings, the creatures and people. Notice how you feel. Breathe the fresh air. Remember to stretch.

If you’re out of shape, your week one goal is to walk twice for only ten minutes each. Stick with a regular schedule until you can move the frequency up to three times a week. Then incrementally move up the duration of your walks, going from 10 to 12 minutes. Then add a few more minutes, until you’re walking 35-40 minutes three times a week. The object of the game is to keep it fun and to say, “I can do this!”

Tracking Track your routine and your progress. Keep a log of the date, the activity, and its duration on an index card or exercise logbook.

Be kind to yourself Don’t over-do it. Over-high expectations are counter-productive in this realm of baby steps. Be aware of what’s reasonable, in terms of activity chosen, time allotted, and the expectation that it will change your life and body instantly. Choose a place to exercise that is between work and home, or easy to get to, like your living room. And use music, if you like, to lift the spirits while you move!

Sacrifice Like anything important, making time for exercise requires giving up something else in your schedule, like TV, or too many volunteer jobs.

Balance out the intense demands of your writing life with time spent in the body. A calmer and clearer writer’s mind, and improved health the rewards from taking the time to exercise.
Happy Exercising and Writing!

Top 10 Tips to Guaranteed Targeted Traffic

By Lewis Low

Increasing targeted traffic to your website is one of the easiest ways to boost your online productivity. Here are the top 10 effective strategies that will help you accomplish that:

1. Optimize Your Website
While SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is a full-time career option, you can either hire an expert to do this or follow the suggestions below and get the ball rolling yourself -

a) Select Your Keywords Wisely - Keywords are the phrases people use to search and come to your website, thereafter, hire your services or buy your products. The trick is to find keywords that are highly relevant to what you offer and popular enough that your target audience will use in search engines, but not so competitive that you can't rank well using them. (Tip: GoodKeywords.com provides a free keyword tool to help you get started. Find your ‘magic’ keywords and use them to build your website content!)

b) Create Your Meta Tags - One of the methods search engines use to evaluate and read your website is known as 'Meta tags.' Make sure you include your keywords, website title and description in meta tags in the source code of each of your web pages.

c) Create an SEO Friendly Website - Avoid bandwidth-hogging flash animations, fancy graphics or "alt" tags in HTML for pictures. Not only will this slow down your website's loading speed, search engines bots will also find it difficult to read, index, and rank your web pages.

d) Get Links to Your Sites - Create a ‘Links’ or ‘Resources’ page and add links to good, relevant websites. This makes search engines think that your site provides valuable information and it should, therefore, appear high in search engine results.

2. Submit Your Website to Search Engines
Don’t wait for search engine robots or spiders to find you. Instead, go ahead and submit your website to major search engines like Google, Yahoo, MSN, Dmoz etc. and remember to do this regularly!

3. Use PPC Advertising
The best PPC (Pay-Per-Click) programs are offered by Google and Yahoo respectively, called Adwords and Overture. It’s usually pretty tough getting top rankings in the search engines in a short period of time, but it can be very easy to get on the first page of results quickly enough, with a PPC campaign. A PPC campaign can be started with a very small investment and you retain full control over your budget. You only pay when someone clicks on your ad that takes them to your website.

4. Swap Ads with other Ezines
It's a good idea to swap ads or links with other ezine publishers in your niche. These can be real ads, testimonials about your niche, or recommendations within the content of an ezine itself. Also, consider buying some ad space in ezine publications in your niche that have a large circulation. Always run an ad for at least 3 consecutive issues in order to get the best results.

5. Give Away Freebies
Everyone loves freebies and people will even come to your site just to check what you are giving away. So keep in mind to include a free eBook, a time bound discount coupon, a prize for every X-th visitor, etc. on your website. You can also partner with other JV (Joint Venture) sites where you can offer free products and get people to your own website. Make sure you capture your visitor’s name and email address using opt-in form so that you could easily follow up with them later. Remember, 'the money is in the size of your list.'

6. Become a Guru
Other than freebies, people love free advice! So find sites where you're allowed to answer questions, and then take some time off to provide detailed answers to each one of them. Become an expert in your niche, and with every answer you give or every solution you provide, don’t forget to add your website URL at the end.

7. Participate in Discussion Forums
Participating in forums, blogs, and discussion groups is yet another fantastic idea to drive targeted traffic to your site. Check to see if you can offer any advice or make valuable suggestions in forum threads. Always remember to provide your website URL at the bottom of each post you make. Each forum may have its own set of rules about promoting your website, so make sure you carefully read and follow their terms and conditions to avoid being accused of spamming.

8. Submit Articles
This is actually the most genuine and effective technique to getting targeted traffic to your website. Write articles that come under your niche, embed your website link within, and submit the articles to online article directories. Articles with quality content and information tempt readers to click-thru to your site, in the hope of getting more advice or tips. Once prospects reach your website, they're also exposed to the products and services you offer - which can sometimes result in many sales for you!

9. Write A Press Release
Write a press release about your business and circulate it in the local media, online news sites and RSS. Be careful not to make it sound like an advertisement, though. For more information about press releases promotion, check out http://www.prweb.com/pressreleasetips.php

10. Online Networks
There are many sites today where you can network online. These networks usually have groups which you can belong to and post articles and comments. Some good examples would be adlandpro.com, ryze.com, ecademy.com, directmatches.com and linkedin.com to name a few. They work pretty much the same as discussion forums where you can post your articles, and comments, or discuss general issues with others. Many online networking sites offer you an individual page on the network where you can advertise what you have to offer and include a link to your website.

To conclude, these 10 tips of driving targeted traffic are tried-and-tested, meaning they do work. So put in some hard work and give it time... then watch your traffic grow by leaps and bounds!

Hawaii Vacation

By Lauren Ashe

I have been thinking about taking a vacation to Hawaii this year since our plans for Europe fell thru. I wanted to ask travelers that have been to hawaii to get a first takers account of the Hawaii experience. I jumped on my computer and googled "hawaii vacation" the results that showed up were less then spectacular, "orbitz, travelocity, and expedia" all in the top ten?
C'mon now I think the results should reflect more peoples content then the advertisers ads.

As I got to the third page of the google results I finally found a website that would offer me some real information on Hawaii. The website was northshore.com, I have heard of the famous north shore of Hawaii when I was a kid. Lots of movies and films have been made depicting the popular surf and world class waves of Hawaii. I decided that I will take my vacation there on the north shore of Oahu, Hawaii.

When planning activities to do on my trip, since I have a 12 year old and a 6 yr old. I decided to take the free Arizona memorial tour. This is the tour of the remains of the historical WWII pearl harbor attack. My next activity and all the rest of them will be scheduled on the north shore.
Polynesian cultural center is the number one paid activity and I will definitely be taking my family to that attraction. Snorkeling, bottom fishing and horseback riding are the other activities that I will enjoy.

The northshore.com website is great as I was able to download coupons for all of my activities and also local information on things to do and places to eat. I actually found our place to stay on the northhshore.com website, we are staying in a vacation rental for a decent price.

Hope our trip goes well, I will write about the whole thing and report back. Our trip is in a couple of weeks.

Frugal Travel Tips For Road Trips

By Kimber Chin

What better way for the frugal traveler to stretch both her budget and her vacation allotment than by taking road trips during long weekends? Here are some of my top tips to reduce that cost even more.

Keeping The Cooler Cool Packing an accessable cooler full of drinks and snacks is a great cost reducing option. To maximize cooler space, instead of filling with ice, freeze water bottles and low filled beverages (including drinking boxes, makes a healthier juice slushy). No more soggy sandwiches or spilled water in the backseat.

Eating Where The Truckers EatFor longer road trips, travelers may have to look outside the cooler for a meal. Instead of haunting the usual fast food chains, keep an eye out for any local roadside restaurants with transport trucks parked outside. When truckers find a spot with good, affordable meals, they tell their buddies.

Note: Just because the sign says truck stop, doesn’t mean the truckers stop. The vehicles never lie.

Keeping The Kiddies EntertainedThis is a trick I’ve stolen from my Mom. Whenever we went on a long road trip, she would dig out the coloring books and crayons. That may not seem exciting except it was…to us. During a road trip was the only time we were allowed a new coloring book.
Updated for today’s kid, keep a few toys or video games only for use on road trips. This could be a brand new toy or a favorite. The novelty of the toy will keep kids busy and looking forward to the long car rides.

Prepping The VehicleRoad trips mean relying on your vehicle so prep work is essential. Check all fluids, oil, antifreeze/coolant, windshield washer solvent (for the bugs all road trip vehicles collect). Check the tires, ensuring that they are properly inflated and in good condition. Check all belts and hoses, looking for wear and tear.

AAA Or Other Vehicle Assistance ProgramsFrequent road trippers should consider an AAA or other vehicle assistance program membership, especially if they have an older vehicle. One tow and the membership pays for itself. Plus no scrambling for local mechanics/tow trucks.

One of the benefits that I love about AAA is their TripTiks which are route maps complete with information such as road works (very helpful during the summer road work season) and rest stops. There are even blurbs on each town passed.

Road trips are a great way to see more local destinations and to stretch the travel budget.

Tips for the Cheapest Airfare

By James Tutten

Everyone wants to save money when they're booking flights for their upcoming trip. Here are several ways to find cheap airfare that you might not have considered.

Often the best seats and the best discounts are given to those who book their flights months or weeks in advance. But sometimes it is not possible to book a flight in advance, because a trip may be last minute. When that is the case, you have to get a little more creative to get discounted tickets at good rates.

There are several ways to get around the high cost of flying and take advantage of discounted tickets. Sometimes taking a flight during the week can save you a quite a bit of money. Tuesday and Wednesday are often the cheapest days to book a flight. Weekend days can also be cheaper, such as Saturdays, depending on your destination. International and domestic flights vary as to which days are less expensive, so ask about the cheapest days to fly on when you call about booking your flight.

Many people realize that airfare may be cheaper on certain days of the week, or during different times of year, depending on the destination. But many people don't realize how important the time of day can be.; The time of your flight can make a large difference in the amount of money that you pay for your plane ticket.

In most cases, only the day of the trip is important to the traveler. Vacations can often be scheduled around the cheapest flights available. Business people typically travel the day before rather than the day of a business meeting. Taking the time of your flight into consideration can save you a lot of money on your plane tickets without causing you any frustration or scheduling issues.

Some of the cheapest flights are in the late night and early morning hours, between midnight and four o'clock in the morning on what are called red-eye flights. Most people are sleeping during these times, and do not want to take a flight in the middle of the night. You can usually find cheap or discounted flights during these off peak travel times. The best rule of thumb is to find the latest flight available, or the earliest flight available. These flights will have the cheapest airfare..

If your vacation itinerary is not dependent on arrival time or you are crossing several time zones, take a late night flight and arrive during the day when checking into a hotel will be much easier. If your business meeting isn't until the afternoon, take an early morning flight, and take a short nap at the hotel to freshen up before the meeting. In most cases, late night or early morning flights will not interfere with your plans.

Remember that to find the cheapest airfare, you may need to fly on off peak days, or off peak times. Be creative, and enjoy cheap airfare.

Finding The Best Spas And Resorts

By Josie Lee

Most of us live very hectic lives so being able to take the time to relax at a spa and resort is something we deserve. To ensure you get the most out of the vacation time it is important to carefully conduct research. You want to find the very best spas and resorts available for you to spend your time at. You also want to get your money's worth. Even if you are on a budget you can find some excellent spas and resorts to stay at. Look for special promotions and discounts online. You can also sign up for free newsletters because they often come with special features for those on the mailing list only.

To get the best rates on top spas and resorts travel during the off season. While it may be a different vibe if you go in the off season you can easily save half the cost or more. This is because they don’t want the spas and resorts sitting empty during the slower periods of the year. You will also save the most money if you plan your trip to spas and resorts during the weekdays instead of the weekends. Check in on a Monday and leave on a Friday to beat the crowds and safe a ton of money.

It is important to realize the term “the best” spas and resorts means something completely different for everyone. You need to identify what you are looking for in a spa and resort and then find those that meet your standards. Don’t waste your money on spas and resorts that offer package deals where most of the amenities you won’t be taking part in. It is well worth it to use those spas and resorts that offer everything you are looking for. You should look for individualized packages so you only pay for what you will be using.

The internet is a wonderful resource for finding quality spas and resorts that will meet your needs. You can search for them by the amenities you are looking for or by location. Some people want to spend their time at a spa or resort in a particular area of the world. That is a good way to see other sites as well as treat yourself to some amazing pampering.

Many sites online show you virtual tours of spas and resorts. You can see how your room will look, find the qualifications of those who will be performing services on you, and get a quote for your stay there all at the same place. This definitely cuts down on the time it takes to find the right spas and resorts. You also will know exactly what to expect so you won’t be disappointed upon arriving.
