6 Ways To Have Virtually Happy Holidays

By Darrell Williams

How can a virtual assistant help me during this holiday season? What could someone half way across the country or halfway around the world do for me at this time of the year?

I have come up with a few answers:

Sending out Christmas cards/letters - Do you have a list that rivals Santa's for Christmas cards and letters? Why not let someone else get this done for you. For businesses, this is a great time to send out something to keep in touch with clients and customers. Personally, it is a time to reconnect with friends and loved ones.

Shopping - You can find every product online now which makes shopping a whole lot easier.
Have a virtual assistant find that perfect gift for that "hard to buy for" person in your life. Gifts can be purchased for you or your VA can locate that elusive CD, game, book, or technological gadget that you can't seem to find and then tell you how and where to purchase it.

Party planning - You can throw a great Christmas or New Year's Eve party this year without lifting a finger! Have your virtual assistant find the location, send out the invitations, hire the caterer, and get the entertainment to make your party memorable.

Travel arrangements - Whether you are going to see your Aunt Mathilda in Albuquerque or Cousin Donald in Dublin, a virtual assistant can help you with your travel plans. They can find you the best deals on flights and hotels so you don't have to sleep on Uncle Joe's lumpy pull-out sofa. Your VA can manage your emails and voicemails for you while you are away.

Appointment setting - How many parties and engagements do you have to juggle over the holidays? Have your virtual assistant manage your calendar and send you reminders to keep you on schedule.

Thank you cards - After you have been to all of those parties and received all of those great gifts, it is time to thank everyone. Handmade thank you cards are a wonderful way to show your appreciation. Your virtual assistant can order these for you and make sure they get to the right people.

I hope you have a happy, stress-free holiday season. Getting a virtual assistant to help you achieve this can be the gift you give to yourself.

Holidays With The Family - Talking Politics & Stirring Up Conflict

By Paul Davis

Political views that permeate and run throughout our families differ and delight us all. Undoubtedly such political persuasions make for a great intellectual and very stimulating conversation. How else could we truly discover the values of our loved ones?

As a master in negotiations, conflict resolution, transformative mediation, and advanced interrogation I truly enjoy all the intense conversation and amusing emotional outbursts I experience at big family gatherings when everybody "comes together" and further discovers new things about each other.

Apart from grabbing for a drumstick, some desperately want a little health care also to be provided by the government. Some women want a handsome President and therefore feel Romney is their man. Other women eager to assert their rights like Hillary. Many blacks and young voters like Obama. Republicans who claim to be pro-life while supporting a war that kills innocents daily in Iraq have their own personal favorites.

Guys like Fred Thompson's vivacious wife. Liberals like Giuliani as he's been divorced a couple times and isn't overbearing in regard to sexual orientation. Military servicemen like McCain as he wants to win the war more than the election, or so he says. So much political posturing going on and yet so early before President Bush says good-bye, though he's already begun work on his presidential library.

Such issues and many more make for political Thanksgiving ramblings. As if there wasn't anything better for us to talk about. Yet we like to hear and discuss issues in this country. That's what makes our nation great and preserves democracy. The freedom of speech is paramount to secure the rights and privileges of the people.

So grab the best resources of all - my new Pulitzer Prize nominated books for history and poetry respectively to heat up the dinner discussion and prepare yourself adequately for some political conversation.

The New Bedroom Furniture Colors For The Coming Holidays

By Ben Weissman

Everyone aims to be in style and following the latest trends each season. Such aspirations can be difficult to pursue at times, especially if you haven't been following the latest color trends for upcoming events. This holiday season, what will be in style, and how can you make your furniture come to life in a way that reflects the new colors that are in style? Start by evaluating what you have already and determining if you are ready to trade in your current furniture for one of the new modern bedroom sets.

You'll find several new trends in bedroom furniture, some of which are related to color and others that are related to style. All are conducive to creating a comfortable, warm, and homey feel for the holiday season. If you don't want to completely redecorate for the holidays, you should start by purchasing a contemporary headboard, which will bring a new look and style to your room with minimal expenditure and change. This can make a huge difference in the feel of your bedroom, bringing in a more modern appearance and feel. Whether you choose to purchase wood or wrought iron, make sure you have a geometrical pattern that is of contemporary style, and try to choose a darker tone that is reminiscent of a quiet winter evening. Contemporary furniture is typically available in several neutral shades.

If you are interested in replacing your bed entirely, look at modern platform beds, which are extremely popular this holiday season. Instead of the large, bulky, intricate sleigh beds of the past, these beds allow you to use the basic appeal of the simplistic design as a center for other decor this holiday. You can easily add pillows, throws, blankets, and other decor in holiday colors that will spruce up the bed, keeping the bed as a basis for future designs. You might try a sophisticated platform bed which adds something elegant to the classic platform design and maintains a price you can afford.

This particular bed also adheres to another trend in furniture for this holiday season: the return to black bedroom furniture. While obviously not the standard black lacquer furniture that was so popular in the 1990's, it nonetheless does prove that "black is back". It creates a quiet, sensual warmth that can provide you with a comfort zone on cold nights this Thanksgiving and Christmas.

With this kind of quality bedroom furniture, you'll wonder why you didn't decide to buy new furniture sooner. Hillsdale and other manufacturers can provide excellence of quality and variety in styles that will keep you trendy this holiday at prices that won't empty your wallet.
