Self Hypnosis - A Higher State of Mind

By Dane Bergen

Self hypnosis is a state of mind that can occur naturally and may be defined as a state of intensely focused concentration also known as a trance and is characterized by the individual’s eagerness to follow suggestions. Self hypnosis is a skill that should be learned properly before experiencing any effects.

Before starting on self hypnosis, you need to know the steps on how to do it properly. You should also be in the right type of environment when doing self hypnosis. Set up a schedule for practice time and keep records of your self hypnosis attempts. You will need a comfortable place to lie or sit down; a quiet and peaceful environment, and the willingness and ability to follow instructions.

The first thing to do when starting self hypnosis is to choose the most important goal. It is recommended to start with a single goal, maybe two at most. These goals should be measurable like counting the number of days you haven’t had a smoke, or the number of pounds you have lost in a week. When starting self hypnosis, try using your own induction process, or if you find it difficult to relax, try using an induction tape and work better on your relaxation.

Here are some simple steps on how to go about self hypnosis:

- Find a comfortable, private, peaceful and quiet place to sit or lie down. Some people may recommend sitting down since lying down may make you more inclined to fall asleep.

- Close your eyes and start the induction process. Rid your mind of any feelings of stress, fear, and anxiety. If you find it difficult to concentrate, do not force your thoughts out, instead, let them go away naturally.

- Starting with your toes, allow the tension in your body to slip away. Visualize the tension leaving your toes, continue through to your calves, thighs, moving up to your face and head.

- Breathe slowly and deeply. Visualize the tension leaving your body as you exhale.

- Once you’ve reached a point of extreme relaxation, start addressing your main concern or goal and use the present tense. Use positive words and repeat your statement as many times as you want.

- As soon as you are done, slowly count up to 10 and ease yourself back into a normal state of relaxation. Allow yourself to have a few minutes before opening your eyes.

Remember, relaxation is an important step when it comes to self hypnosis, so you should practice and find a way to help yourself relax. Come up with the right kind of suggestions and use them during self hypnosis and at any other times of the day. You can also try auto questioning. This can help ease your subconscious into a receptive state of your suggestions.

Overcome Anxiety With Hypnosis

By Steve Burns

Anxiety is a disorder that can negatively affect every aspect of a person’s life. A person who experiences anxiety may become panicked if a certain situation occurs. For example an individual who has anxiety about financial matters may experience a panic attack, stress and extreme worry if their car needs to be repaired or something breaks in the house. Someone who experiences anxiety at work may be looked over for promotions and raises.

Anxiety is fear and worry that can take control of a person’s life. An individual who has anxiety will learn to avoid certain situations that cause worry or panic. Some common anxieties are fear of social situations, fear of authority, fear of relationships and fear about money. There are dozens of anxieties that a person can have. Anxiety can lead to other mental disorders such as agoraphobia or obsessive compulsive disorder. Anxiety does not have to control one’s life. There is an effective way to overcome anxiety for life.

Hypnosis is a proven method for overcoming anxiety. The process of hypnosis is rewarding, positive, safe and gentle. There are many benefits to undergoing hypnosis. A person who has undergone hypnosis will not only overcome anxiety but will have more confidence, increased self esteem and a more positive perspective on life. Hypnosis calms the nerves, the mind and the whole body while alleviating the stress and anxiety that an individual may experience. Hypnosis is an amazing process that dips into the resources of the subconscious mind.

When a person undergoes hypnosis that person is placed in a deep state of relaxation. As the state of relaxation progresses the subconscious mind becomes receptive to positive suggestions, new ideas and different perspectives. An individual in hypnosis will receive motivational encouragement, confidence building statements and a direct plan for overcoming anxiety. The beliefs, behaviors and thinking patterns of the individual will change.

Through hypnosis an individual can visualize themselves free from anxiety. The individual is able to “feel” how wonderful life is without anxiety. Life does not have to be full of anxieties but instead full of positive experiences.

If you want to overcome anxiety and lead a happier life then as a practicing hypnotherapist I recommend that you take advantage of the services of a qualified hypnotherapist in your area. Hypnosis is an experience that allows one to live without anxiety. Live a richer and more rewarding life without anxiety stopping you from reaching your goals and aspirations.

Be A New Improved You With Hypnosis

By Jon Rhodes

Hypnosis can be used to improve ALMOST EVERYTHING about yourself that you can think of.

It can make you MORE SUCCESSFUL by improving your confidence, memory, mood, imagination. Hypnosis is often used to help people pass exams, present dynamic presentations, excel in job interviews, and stay focussed on goals.

It can help COMBAT MEDICAL PROBLEMS such as skin complaints, stress, insomnia, asthma, IBS.

Hypnosis can also be used to CONTROL HABITS such as smoking, drinking, drugs, overeating, nail biting.

Or it can be used as a general relaxation aid to help us in our stressful lives. The list goes on…
WHY ISN’T EVERYONE USING IT? Probably for a variety of reasons. First of all many people are scared of using it. They hear stories of people thinking they are chickens, or just generally ‘under’ some kind of spell. Stage hypnotists have long since created the wrong impression of hypnosis. They simply pick volunteers who are extroverts and want an excuse to act daft. A person in a trance does not sing and dance like Elvis!

Also a person is not actually ‘under’ a trance. A good hypnotist GUIDES someone into a trance. It is just as much the skill of the patient as it is the hypnotist.

A trance is actually an everyday phenomena for most of us. It occurs when you are engrossed in a book or film, or during meditation. You must allow yourself to go into trance, no-one can make you. Also you can snap out of it any time you please. If you could control others against their will, there would probably be a lot of wealthy unscrupulous hypnotists who regularly visit their bank managers!

Many people may not use hypnosis because of the cost and the difficulty finding good practitioners. A lot of people are put off paying high prices for a technique they are not sure will work.

It seems folk would rather pay for a good than a service. People seem to feel less cheated if they pay for something like nicotine patches, rather than a hypnosis session for smoking for example. It’s probably down to our materialistic notions that ‘we have something to show for it’. However the end result is all that matters. Hypnosis is known to have a far greater success rate for smokers than nicotine patches.

Some people may not trust enough to use the services of a hypnotist. They may not like talking to a relative stranger about their problems, or just might not like meeting new people. However there are now other ways of receiving hypnosis through recorded media, or even down the phone. Recorded sessions are cheaper, and can be used many times for greater effect. Most of us cannot afford the services of a good hypnotist several times per week.

However there is a wide scope of self improvement with hypnosis that literally billions of people are missing out on. Don’t be one of them!

Still cynical? Then try my site www.freehypnosistreatment.com. It contains free online hypnosis sessions. You can then see for yourself if hypnosis is for you without parting with a penny.
All I ask is that if you like the site, recommend it to friends and family. This will allow us to fund the expansion of our site through our sponsorship. We believe that everyone should be aware of the helpful power of hypnosis, and should have the opportunity to use it.

Hope to see you soon. Jon Rhodes
