How To Lose Weight - Be Sure To Eat Breakfast

By Michael M Thomas

When you were a child you were probably taught that one meal was more important than all the others. Do you remember what meal that was? That's right - it's breakfast. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. And while most of us know that, many of us still manage to skip breakfast (or to eat something unhealthy).

It is very simple and basic, but eating a healthy breakfast is a simply way to help you lose weight. This is why: it starts your body burning calories early in the day. Yes, it gives you energy and that's great. But more importantly (when you are trying to lose weight), eating some healthy food for breakfast trains your body to expect nutrition and that keeps your body in a calorie burning mode. If you start eating a healthy breakfast, you will be on your way to losing weight.

What does breakfast usually consist of for you? If your answer is nothing or a cup of coffee and a piece of toast, you are probably unhealthy or at least unhappy with your weight.

It really is true: breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Eating a healthy breakfast sets the tone (for your body) for the rest of the day. When you don't eat breakfast, your body goes into starvation prevention mode and stores anything you give it. That means your lunch gets stored and that often turns into fat. While you think you are helping yourself by cutting out the calories you would consume during breakfast, you are really hurting yourself.

Please make sure that when you start eating breakfast that you eat healthy foods. You will not lose weight if you start eating donuts, fried foods, and sugary foods. Your breakfast needs to consist of healthy, natural foods. Things like whole grain cereal (oatmeal, for instance) are great. They give you a steady stream of energy.

Eating a good breakfast is key to making sure you have a healthy diet. From there, you mix in a little exercise and you're well on your way to looking fit and fabulous.
