How To Secure Your Computer System?

By Edwin Zhang

Today, more and more people are using their computers for everything from communication to online banking and investing to shopping. As we do these things on a more regular basis, we open ourselves up to potential hackers, attackers and crackers.

There are numerous ways in which the security of your computer can be breached. The most common threats come from worms, viruses, Trojans, phishing, hackers and crackers. Potential security breaches can come in the form of downloading unfamiliar email attachments, being monitored by spyware, maliciously attacked by malware, or probed through port scanning.

Computer security can be a difficult concept for many people. But as long as you follow these easy, cost-effective steps, you can take to make your computer more secure.

1. Always make backups of important information and store in a safe place separate from your computer.

There are so many ways you can lose the information on your computer. Your child decides to play Chopin on your keyboard, a power surge, lightening, a virus, or even simple equipment failure. Therefore, backing up the contents of your hard drive is an absolute MUST. By regularly making backup copies of your files and storing them in a separate location, you can typically get some, if not all, of your information back in the event your computer crashes.

2. Don't run unfamiliar programs on your computer and do not open unknown email attachments.

It sounds like common sense, but many of the most prominent attacks have involved spyware and email attachment worms such as Bagle and Netsky. If you don't recognize the sender, don't download its attachments. Sometimes it is simply not enough that you may recognize the address from which it originates because many viruses can spread from a familiar address.

3. Update and patch your operating system, web browser and other applications frequently.

Many industry experts believe that most network security attacks would be stopped if computer users would just keep their computers updated with patches and security fixes. Too often, we forget to do this on a regular basis. Remember that every day, new viruses, worms and Trojans are being created and distributed. They are looking for the weaknesses in your computer system. Having outdated software is basically the same as holding the door open and inviting them in for a visit.

4. Install a firewall.

Without a good firewall, viruses, worms, Trojans, malware and adware can all easily access your computer from the Internet. Consideration should be given to the benefits and differences between hardware and software based firewall programs.

5. Install antivirus software and set for automatic updates so that you receive the most current versions.

6. Don't use weak passwords.
Use passwords which are difficult for someone to figure out. People frequently use the names of children, pets, anniversary dates, or birthdays. Because there seems to be a password needed for everything, it is not uncommon to see many people using the same password for everything.

Big mistake! The use of only one password provides a hacker with easy access to a smorgasbord of personal information. If you have to write your passwords down, it is best not to leave them on a post-it, attached to the screen of your computer. You may chuckle at the absurdity, but it happens more than you think.

7. Don't allow unrestricted physical access to your computer.

If you have sensitive or proprietary information on your computer, allowing other employees or family members to use your computer can lead to potential breaches in your computer's security.

7 Barriers to Immigrants Success And How to Overcome Them

By Caroline Jalango

1. Negative people or dream killers.
A negative person is anyone who creates doubt and fear in you and pours cold water on your dreams with the intention of bringing your plans to a grinding halt. They are people who have resigned themselves to living unfulfilled lives and whose negative comments, toxic attitudes or actions are designed to cause loss of confidence either in yourself or in your abilities-if you allow it! Sharing your dreams with the wrong person can be suicidal for your dream. Say goodbye to, naysayers, detractors, critics, enemies, hecklers or unbelievers and say hello to people who inspire, support, nurture and bring out the best in you.

2. Denial-being stuck in the past.
Regardless of who you were before you migrated to a new place, don't live in denial any longer than you must. Your past successful life will always be a valuable part of who you are...no one can take that away from you. However, the new reality may mean that you can no longer be the successful, lawyer, doctor, accountant, CEO or professional you once were. Accept change and be ready to change and adapt! Spending your days talking about who you used to be or dwelling in the glory of your past successes will prevent you from applying yourself fully and creating a successful meaningful life.

3. Not knowing who you are and what you want to do.
At some point in your life you must answer the questions, "Who am I?" "What do I really want to do with my life?" "What fulfills me?" "What is my role and purpose on earth?" These questions are probably the most important questions that you will ever answer because they lay the foundation for your destiny and determine the course of your future. They help you get focused on what matters most and gain clarity about the next step to take. Based on them, you can avoid irrelevant, side tracking, time wasting, and emotionally draining activities On the other hand, when you don't know who you are and what you want...you settle for anything!.

4. Low self-esteem and a victim mentality.
You feel bad about yourself, criticize yourself, look down upon yourself, judge yourself harshly and are not proud of who you are. These negative feelings lead to a sense of insignificance, apathy and hopelessness. Further, when you allow obstacles, your insecurities or a "woe is me" mentality to rob you of the pleasure of achieving your goals-you choose to fail. The fact that you are an immigrant doesn't make you a nobody. You are somebody! You matter and you have an important contribution to make to the world. There are countless inspiring stories of people who have overcome all odds and achieved their dreams. If you take responsibility for your life and destiny...you too can become that story. Value yourself because no matter where you are from or how you look or sound like-you can still be different and unstoppable!

5. Succumbing to the voice of your inner critic.
Usually, there are two dialogues going on in your mind. One is the voice of empowerment that encourages you, "c'mon, you can do it, you are trained and qualified to do this, you are naturally gifted to do this or this is what you have always wanted to do," and the other is the inner critic's voice that taunts and instills fear in you. It whispers, "you can't do it, you will fail, you won't be accepted, you are different or you are not good enough" and so forth. These conflicting voices go on and on and pull you in different directions. It's almost like a battle between good and evil. Which voice are you listening to? Which voice is winning? To succeed, you must conquer your inner critic and win.

6. Talking big and not walking the talk.
If all you are doing is talking about your ideas, gathering information, reading, researching, attending seminars, and listening to what everyone else is saying and not applying all that learning and knowledge to make your life happen...you are preparing to fail. If you have worthwhile goals and you have not implemented them in a real and tangible way, you need to pause for a moment and ask yourself, "What is going on with me?" "What's holding me back?" "What am I afraid of?" If all your friends know about your big plans but have never seen any supporting evidence; it's probably time to start walking the talk!

7. Not asking for help!
When you want to get things done and are stuck because you don't know what to do next...ask for help. Invest in yourself. Get support from a trained coach, expert, mentor or a friend who knows what they are doing and can help you come up with a plan to achieve success. Seek help from people who are already succeeding and making something out of their lives or who can hold you accountable for getting back on track and staying there!

Remember that by your action or lack of action...you are making plans for something!

Overcome your barriers and let the evidence of what you want, speak for itself!

How to Spend Your Credit Card Cash Back Money

By Robert Alan

It's a little bit exciting to get credit card cash back money. After all, you already made those credit card purchases and forgot about them so it's not like you're really expecting to get anything else. The cash back credit card offers you a little bit of a reward in addition to your purchase so that you can have some spending money in your pocket. But what do you want to spend that money on? Different people find that different purchases can make their cash back credit cards really benefit them.

Pay Your Credit Card Bill
Some people find that the best use of their credit card cash back money is to pay off their credit card bill with it. Many cash back credit cards make this easy by offering that as an option in your rewards package. In other words, when you sign into your online account to see what your dollar amount cash back is, you'll also see an option to "use this amount to pay your bill". This allows you to save the money that you would've normally spent on your monthly credit card bill and to use it for something else down the line.

Get Rewards Other than Cash Back
Many cash back credit cards offer a certain percentage of your purchase amount back to you in cash but will give you more than that amount if you choose another reward. For example, you might get 3% cash back on purchases. Let's say that you've earned enough off of that to get $100 cash back. Your credit card company might offer you the option of choosing a $150 gift card instead of the $100 cash. This lets you actually get more from your cash back credit card companies than you would have thought to begin with. However, it's only good for people who are really interested in the items or gift cards that are available through the rewards program.

Gifts for Others
Perhaps you'll find that there are gifts in these rewards programs that are better for someone else than they are for you. When it comes time to buy gifts in bulk, such as during the holidays, you can cash in your cash back credit cards points to get a bunch of gifts for other people. Since that money was just sitting on your cash back credit card, it almost feels like you didn't have to spend anything to get nice gifts for the people that you care about.

Something Nice for Yourself
There are some people who find that the best thing that they can do with their credit card cash back money is to use it for giving themselves a gift. After all, your credit card purchases usually don't go to things that spoil you. They go towards buying groceries and paying bills and taking care of daily expenses. When you make a commitment to spending your cash back money on a treat for yourself, you really reap the emotional benefits that can come along with having a cash back credit card.

Savings Accounts
Other people find that what they want most from their cash back credit cards is a little financial security. They take the money that they get in cash back and they use it to start a savings account. Every time they get more cash back, they add to that account. They're not spending anything but they're allowing their money to work for them.

Hardwood Flooring Adds Beauty and Value

By Adam Peters

For one of the best investments you can make in your home, consider installing hardwood floors. The look of hardwood floors changes everything. They can make a room look bigger because of the clear open space, but at the same time keep it warm and inviting because it is wood.
Hardwood flooring is more expensive than other flooring alternatives, but well worth the extra cost because it is so popular among home buyers.

The simple elegance of hardwood flooring has always been in vogue, but never as much as today when people like clean, elegant looks for their homes.

It doesn't matter what kind of decor you have chosen; hardwood flooring looks equally beautiful in a formal dining room or in the casual family room.

Hardwood flooring adds warmth and beauty to a home, and in today's hectic world, the home has become a sanctuary where we seek such peace and beauty to comfort us after a hard day's work. Picture coming in the door after being out in the cold winter and being greeted with the warm ambiance of glowing wood.

Another valuable feature of hardwood flooring besides its beauty and the warm feeling it imbues, is the fact that it is so durable and long lasting, moreso than laminate flooring. If you take proper care of your hardwood floors, they will last for years and years. Follow the manufacturer's recommendations regarding proper cleaning and treatments, and you will not only keep them looking gorgeous, you will also be protecting your valuable investment in your home. Keeping on top of any minor repairs will forestall larger problems in the long run, so be sure to do the proper upkeep.

You will be amazed and even a little overwhelmed when you start to shop for hardwood flooring since the range of choices is so great. You want to make sure you make the right decision, since this is a large, long term investment in your home. Better to spend some time in shopping and researching exactly what the right kind of hardwood flooring is best for you than to shop in haste and be disappointed in your decision.

Another thing to be careful about is looking for a bargain when you are shopping for hardwood floors. Yes, they do exist, but there are many inferior products that just sound like bargains but may not be over the long run. If you end up replacing these floors after a few years, they really cost more than the better quality, more expensive ones. For such a large item as hardwood flooring, you can usually get financing for the product, or you may consider a home equity loan since it is an improvement to the property.

You do have to give your hardwood floors a bit of the velvet glove treatment. You don't want to put heavy furniture on it without pad under them, and you certainly don't want to drag any furniture over the floor. High traffic areas should be covered with area rugs, and you might consider scuff rugs for entrances, so that dirt, sand or grime is not dragged onto the floor.
Kitchens are not considered the ideal place to install hardwood floors because of the high risk of exposure to moisture and water damage. If you do decide to use hardwood flooring in the kitchen, just be prepared for frequent repairs or replacements.

Buy a Brand New Home - Six Months No Payments Financing - Limited Time Only

By Lance Winslow

So, I am reading thru the newspaper the other day, yes with a pair of scissors and a highlighter, that's me, you know the type. Trying to keep a pulse on society, consumers and various industries, government agencies, politics and information, but unlike other people you know who do this, I have an excuse. I am the coordinator for the Online Think Tank, amongst other endeavors. Plus, you know it also allows me to monitor the mass media hysteria over the real estate market.

Anyway, yes, well, I am reading this ad in the Real Estate section of the LA Times, yes, they still have a real estate section, ha ha ha. One article in the paper, a PR fluff type article reads:

Six Months, No Payment Financing Attracts Savvy Buyers to Custom Homes

Is it just me or does anyone else see the problem here? First, off it is stuff like this that got the real estate market in trouble in the first place, apparently no one is learning any lessons here. Next, sure, it is a safer bet for the builder and the bank now with interest rates low and being close to the bottom to try this, but, please, its starting to sound like a GM, Ford or Chrysler Commercial to sell you an overpriced 2007 close out SUV?

Personally, I am almost surprised that the article did not have a tagline. After six months, you can make the first 10 payments with a special credit card offered by the builder's bank? Do you see what I see? Does it bother you? Do you think it is wise? Do you see this as a last ditch effort? Americans need to overcome these debt traps, but all too often they allow their need for instant gratification to get the best of them.

Online Social Networks are Dangerous to Freedom - Play at Your Own Risk

By Lance Winslow

Whether an online social network is designed for business networking or fun socializing there are some things you need to be aware of. These networks reward an individual for compliance of behavior acceptable to the mob. Small clicks form, which soon turn into groups of pecking order and each group moves to force their will onto the larger group. Then there are disruptors, natural leaders, influencers and followers, indeed also a few unreasonable men. There are victims and villains, referees and attackers; and your experience can take you from emotional highs to thoughts questioning your strength of character.

All of this can occur for the participant in an online social network, a fake world of one's and zero's augmenting your reality in the here and now. As you experiment with these online social networks, you will see representations of both the best and worst of humanity, under the creative auspice of a so-called: "community" of other participants just like you, most real, but a few digital apparitions.

Either way you are there by choice and you can leave by choice. However, if you leave you miss a newly created part of you. Is it an addiction, or is it an innate need that is being satisfied by the digital online social networking platform? Humans have social needs; they are social creatures, after all. Yet the other side humanity is also ever present in online social networks, as much or even more so than within a troop of chimpanzees acting out in Primate Politics. And for all this, you are still so proud of yourself for your online social networking, and that my friends is the kicker.

You give up self, to participate in a fake world, where the political correctness of the mob eventually controls your every move, always waiting for a scrap of praise, or a reward signifying that you have complied in pleasing others. These others, who in turn give you false praise or condemnation in order to propel them selves up the social hierarchy ladder; all the while somehow forgetting that none of it is real. Whether you stay or you go, you are giving up self in the social "politically correct training" that these social networks are part. This digitized virtual reality pollutes your mind, steals your freedom and turns you into nothing more than a follower of the mindless mob - To this you aspire?

Have a wonderful Blogging Day, get yourself a drink, as there is no need to thank me for making you think.

Young Driver Car Insurance - Truth Is To Be Disclosed

By David Faulkner

As adults we understand the need for a car and of course we have to pay insurance for that car. However when our kids get insurance they often end up paying much more than they have to, because car insurance companies assume that as young they are going to be getting into a lot of trouble and causing a lot of accidents.

When it comes to getting Young Driver Car Insurance, you really want to be able to save as much money as possible. Although many people unfortunately do not realize it, there are quite a few different things that you can do in order to reduce the cost of Young Driver Car Insurance, of which will be discussed here.

One of the best ways to reduce the costs of Young Driver Car Insurance is to make sure that you pay your premium in full rather than in monthly installments, and this is because insurers will generally offer a discount on a lump sum, whereas they tend to add a surcharge fee for installments.

Higher Cost For Young Driver Car Insurance:
Why the premiums are for Young Driver Car Insurance so expensive? It is because youngsters who have just received their driver's license do not have any real driving experience and are therefore more apt to get into a car accident. Add to this the fact that many youngsters drive while distracted, whether talking to friends in the car with them, talking on their cell phone, or showing off by driving at unsafe speeds, and you have the perfect reason for insurance companies to require a higher monthly premium for student car insurance policies. A high percentage of accidents in the United States are caused by people under the age of 25 and Young Driver Car Insurance rates will typically remain high until the driver reaches this age.

In some cases, the insurance company will offer a discounted premium rate on Young Driver Car Insurance policies to students who maintain good grades. The companies believe that keeping up with your schoolwork demonstrates a sense of responsibility and they believe that shows that you will be a responsible driver. But if you get into one accident or get one speeding ticket, the discounted rate will be revoked and you will have to pay the full premium price for your Young Driver Car Insurance until you reach the age of 25.

Reason for Young Driver Car Insurance:
Young Driver Car Insurance policies are no different than traditional
car insurance policies in terms of coverage and deductibles. The only difference is the high price of the premium. If you can maintain a good driving record and keep your grades up until graduation, then the rate for your student car insurance may decrease over time. And that frees up your money for more important things, like books for college.

If you keep all of these pointers in mind, then when it comes time to get car insurance for your own youngsters, you will be able to save yourself a great deal of money, something that every parent can truly appreciate

7 Adrenaline-Boosting Workouts

Boost your strength and endurance with these fast-paced workouts from Men's Health experts
By the Editors of Men's Health

1. 3-Mile Challenge

Boost your strength and endurance with this fast-paced workout from Craig Ballantyne, C.S.C.S.

How it works: Crank out as many pushups as you can. Then, resting a minute between exercises, do one set each of chinups and dips, completing your maximum number of repetitions for each exercise. Now go for a 3-mile run. Record the number of reps you were able to perform and your run time. Retest yourself each month.

2. Hoops Fat Blaster

Sculpt your body on the court, says Alan Stein, C.S.C.S.

1. Sit at one baseline and hold a basketball in front of your chest. Stand up and sit down without letting your arms, hands, or the ball touch the floor. Repeat 10 times, then sprint to the other baseline.

2. Assume a pushup position, but with one hand on the ball. Perform a pushup, then roll the ball to the other hand and repeat. That's 1 rep. Aim for 10, and then sprint back to the other baseline.

3. Hold the top of a pushup on the ball for 1 minute. Rest 30 seconds. Repeat the entire sequence 4 to 6 times.

3. Muscle Express

Use your bicycle as a barbell to build your upper body. Pedal hard for 2 minutes in a high gear.
Then hop off the bike, flip it, and grab it by the frame. From this position, you can train your back, arms, and shoulders, using the bike as resistance. For example, perform 10 reps of single-arm bent-over rows, arm curls, or front raises. Then ride for another 2 minutes. Continue this pattern of lifting and riding until you've completed each exercise 3 to 5 times.

4. High-Speed Rope Circuit

Alternate between jumping rope and doing strength exercises to build a leaner body.

1. Skip rope 20 seconds.
2. Do 8 walking lunges forward, then turn around and lunge back to the starting position.
3. Skip rope 20 seconds.
4. Do as many pushups as you can (to failure).
5. Skip rope 20 seconds.
6. Do pullups to failure.

That's one round. Complete 4 to 6 rounds, adding 10 seconds to your rope-skipping time each round.

5. Rock-Hard Abs

This 3-day-a-week plan is fast yet brutal, says trainer Juan Carlos Santana, C.S.C.S.

Lie faceup on the floor with your arms and legs straight, in an X. Lift your arms and legs 8 inches off the floor, toes pointed out. This is the starting position.

1. With your right arm, reach up toward the ceiling, then lower to the starting position. Repeat with your left arm. Do 5 reps.

2. Raise your left leg above your hip and reach toward the ceiling with your foot, then lower back down. Repeat with your right leg. Do 5 reps.

3. Do 1 and 2 simultaneously with opposite limbs. Perform 5 reps.

6. High-Power Muscle

Add air to classic body-weight exercises for an athletic challenge, says Nate Green, a certified personal trainer.

Alternate between two movements, such as squats and pushups, but make them explosive by pushing yourself up with enough force so your feet and hands leave the floor on squats and pushups, respectively. Do 10 reps of each move and rest 10 seconds. Then do 9 reps of each exercise and rest 10 seconds. Continue with this pattern down to 1 rep. Repeat the sequence up to 5 times.

7. Leaner in 5

Perform this lower-body strength workout before you pound the pavement. Transition from one exercise to the next without resting.

1. Do 24 body-weight squats.
2. Perform 24 body-weight lunges, alternating legs.
3. Complete 24 jump lunges, alternating legs.
4. Do 24 jump squats.
5. Hold a plank for 2 minutes.

Rest for 5 minutes before running sprints.

A Good Financial Advisor

By Keith Dennis

A lot has been written on this topic over the years. This is probably the most difficult and the most important step in your financial future. The reason that finding a good advisor is so difficult is the corporate world produces very professional looking and talking salespeople.

Most of the Financial Advisors or Brokers/Investments Reps that I know are nothing more than well polished salespeople. Their product is investments. They can make any investment look right for portfolio and give you reason after reason to buy it. They will even print reports and professional looking literature to convince you that these investments are a "good deal" and you shouldn't pass it up.

Some investments are a good deal and could be taken advantage of but only if they truly fit your needs and your families needs. So how do you really choose a good financial advisor and what does he or she look like? What do they do that really makes them better than the rest?

The first thing that they will do is get to know you and your situation before they invest your money. Clients sometimes feel like this is small talk and wants to get the main point quickly. The main point is you! Our part as a Financial Advisor is to get to know you so that we can make the best recommendations possible for your situation. We work together as a team. That way, every investment is made according to your goals and not according to the new "hot" thing.

How do you know that this is what's happening? Your advisor will provide you with a written plan. They will refer to it when talking about new investment opportunities. You should know well beforehand what the next investment should be. Your plan will show you and your advisor.

The next way that you can tell that you have a good advisor is how they get paid. I am a firm believer in a fee-based arrangement. In a commission based arrangement, the broker gets paid up front for picking an investment and selling it to you. Ever feel like your broker is just trying to get paid? The amount that you pay the broker has nothing to do with how good the investment is. There are times as well when the broker gets paid when you sell the investment too. That amount is not based on how well the investment performed. This arrangement usually ends up being more like a salesman-customer relationship.

The better way is to have a fee-based arrangement. You deposit money with an advisor and you are charged an asset fee. These are usually taken out monthly and based on an annual percentage. Then the advisor invests according to your needs and goals. What that means is that if your advisor performs well and chooses good investments for you, they get paid more. If they do poorly then they get paid less. The investments then are chosen based on how well they fit into your plan for investing. Finally, a client doesn't have to worry about the commission problem anymore. This arrangement aligns the client and the advisor on the same team, working together to achieve the clients financial goals.

Communication is the final way that you can tell if your advisor is good. This is especially evident when the market takes a downturn. Are they communicating with you? Are they following the plan set up to whether the downturns? Are they doing anything at all to help you recover your losses?

Finding a good advisor is a difficult thing to do. When searching, ask if the advisor that you are talking with does each of these things. Ask about their plans and how they prepare them. Ask for details on how they get paid. Ask them what they do and what kind of strategies they have in place in case the market does slow or have a downturn in the future. Above all, don't settle. Keep looking until you find exactly what you are looking for.

Unintended Consequences - The Secret to Rewarding Behavior

By Lynn Marie Sager

You've likely heard the saying, "What gets rewarded, gets repeated," but did you know, "What gets punished, also gets avoided?" Let me explain...

I once spent Christmas at a military outpost in Bosnia, deployed by the Department of Defense's overseas shows program as an entertainer for the troops. It was a great experience, but it was also a bit like spending Christmas in hell. One evening after a show, one of the soldiers made a comment I'll never forget.

"You have to be careful about doing a good job around here, " he said, "Cause if they think they need you, they'll give you another six months duty."

That soldier knew the consequences of doing a good job, and he considered those consequences a punishment. Whenever we punish people for doing good work, by piling them with more work and no reward, we lose so much of their potential. Why should people work harder for less?

The actions you reward usually determine the actions people repeat. So, if you have been getting what you don't want from people, then on some level, I bet you've been rewarding their behavior. After all, if they weren't receiving some reward, why would they keep repeating it?

Do you remember the saying, "a squeaky wheel gets all the grease"? Well, if you're tired of all the "squeaky wheels" in your life, then stop only rewarding the squeaks. Set aside the majority of your grease for the "wheels" that actually work. Devise a system for rewarding the people who actually give you what you want, and those "squeaky wheels" might just change their tune.
Sadly, some people don't live up to their potential because they know that they'll only be expected to do more.

During a lecture on rewards and punishments, I had a student once raise his hand to say, "That's so true. Whenever I help out at home, I just get asked to do more. The more I help, the more I get asked to do. It's gotten so I don't volunteer for anything. The other day, my aunt's gardener got sick and couldn't make his weekly visit, so I decided to help out with the lawn. I spent all weekend cleaning and mowing. Do you know how my aunt rewarded me? She fired the gardener, and made the yard my responsibility."

Don't punish people who are doing well by expecting even more. Whenever we ask for help, get help, and instantly expect more help, we punish the very actions that we want repeated...

4 Myths That Most Beginner Forex Traders Would Like to Believe

By Leo Dimilo

If you were to google the term "forex" you would get 57 million pages, most of which is complete garbage. Now I say this with a slight hint of reservation but understand that in the short 5 years of me trading on the FX market, I have come across outright scams, automated "systems" that supposedly would make an investor rich, gurus that profess huge returns if you allow them to trade using managed accounts, books that make outstanding claims ect. ect. The list goes on and on.

I am going to attempt to blow apart a lot of these "myths" that seem to circumvent the forex market online and hopefully, you will be able to use common sense when approaching these "products" and give you a solution that you can research to better help you with your trades.

Myth #1

You can easily double your forex account by using (stick a broker or site name here).

Reality- Any site or broker that can give you a fixed percentage per month (like 10%) is doing something with your money other than trading forex. That is the bottom line and it doesn't matter if you think that it must be real because the site has been paying for several months.

My own experience: I had a managed account with an unsaid site that was averaging 20% per month and had been in operation for a couple years. I was quite pleased with the results and then all of a sudden, they vanished into cyber space...along with my money. This was a lesson learned the hard way but I want to tell you that if it sounds too good to be true, then...it is too good to be true.

As an aside, there are thousands of sites that claim to be trading forex. Most promise returns upwards of 50-100% per month. It is simply not possible.

Myth #2

Automated Software is better than Human Based Trading
  • I have heard this spouted about since I came online and started trading. The idea is this...by taking away the human emotion, you can make significant profits. Since Fear and Greed moves the market, a computer based product that just crunches numbers should be able to accurately predict the market.
Reality- Automated Software does not work because the market moves because of human greed and emotion....

Real life Example- a couple years ago, after seeing automated system after system touted, I finally took the plunge and bought some software that would make my trades automatic. Luckily for me, I tested the bot using a demo account because after a month's time, I would have gone broke. The bottom line is that a computer can only implement indicators, much like a human can.

As an aside, if someone developed a "bot" that could do the dirty work for you and succeed, why on earth would someone sell it? Think about it...if it is too good to be true, it normally is.

Myth #3

Trading the news is the quickest way to profits and even a newbie can do it.

Reality- While it is true that trading the news can result in some significant jumps in PIPS, it also has a few can of worms that most traders won't tell you about....
  • Getting in on these trades has to be quick and most platforms perform typically slower than normal during these high volume times. The worst part of this is that you can't tell which brokerage firm is the better because the trades are seemless on demo accounts. The result is you get in trades but sometimes can't get out.
Real Life Example- I was subscribed to a service where the trader had a chat room in which trader's could come in. He had one of those fancy Reuters news tickers (that cost $2,500+) in which he could get the news at the exact same time that the banks got them. Basically, he would get the news and type "buy" or "sell" or "do nothing". When something hot broke, it would sometimes break for 60+ PIPS. That would have been great if I could have gotten in on the trade. However, I tried 5 different platforms and all of them were either very slow to open the trade (resulting in a loss of profit) or crashed at the time of the news....not good.

I investigated this and found that my problem wasn't just me. Other trader's had the same exact problem.

Now, my only way to combat this was to "guess" which way the market would go and place a stop/loss point on the other side just in case it went the other way. Then again...that is not trading...that is gambling...

Lesson learned: If you are going to trade the news, be prepared for some major frustration along the way.

Myth #4

You can make a lot of money consistently trading short term time frames (day trading)..

Reality- The key word is consistently. There are two things that are certain with trading forex. One, the market will rise....and two, the market will fall. With short time frames, you are basically guesstimating which way the market will go. And the market moves in these short time frames without much reason. In other words, it is no better than flipping a coin. Technical and chart analysis is absolutely pointless in these short time frames. If you don't believe me, spend a week watching these numbers and do all the chart analysis you want....Without knowing the long term trends, you are no more than a gambler betting red or black.

This said, there is only one PROVEN technical indicator in stock OR forex trading. And that is understanding retracements and how to chart using fibronacci techniques. Basically, it implies that when a market starts a pull back or rally, normally there are some keypoints that it retraces back to. The most important number is 50% (or the 50% retracement rule).

Now, I am not going to say that it is a slam dunk (there is none in trading). However, if you use history as an indicator, then you would see that the 50% retracement rule actually works more often than not.

Leo Dimilo has been trading forex as a hobby for 5 years now and has his share of bumps and bruises along the way. He has made alot of money AND lost a lot of money along the way.

Taking Control of Your Life - An Empowerment Technique That Could Change How You View Everything

By Lynn Marie Sager

How can you regain control of your life?

Pay attention to your language. Listen to the words that drop carelessly from your lips.
Whatever you say often enough, you eventually prove to yourself. Your language is a refection of your thoughts and your attitudes. Your language reflects whether you feel in control of your life, or out of control in your world.

How often do you hear statements like: "I can't," "If only," "I must," "There is nothing I can do," "I was born that way," "She irritates me," "He makes me uptight," "They won't let me," "You need to do something," "Everything is a mess," "I had no choice," "He started it."

Now, take a moment to consider how often you use similar statements yourself.

Statements like these are limiting. They indicate that the speaker has relinquished all power. They indicate that the speaker feels helpless and unable to affect worthwhile change.

If you want to reclaim your sense of power, then you need to retrain your tongue to take back your sense of control. Don't ever think that the words you utter don't matter. Your mind starts to believe anything that your tongue says often enough.

When you change your words, you change your thoughts. When you change your thoughts, you change your perspective. When you change your perspective, you begin to grow. And once you start to grow, you'll start to develop power, self-esteem, self-control and the ability to design your own life. So remove self-limiting statements from your habitual speech patterns. Whenever you catch yourself using limiting words or phrases, use the SPAR technique explained on my website. Retrain yourself to use words that empower you. Don't let yourself make statements that tear you down. If you can, ask someone that you trust to help you listen to your wording.
You don't always notice your own limiting phrases and a partner can help you.

Anytime that you discover a limiting thought, affirm its opposite. Write down the affirmation, say the affirmation, sing the affirmation-do whatever it takes to prove to yourself that you are not limited. Most importantly, don't buy into the myth that you have no control over your life.
Whatever you focus upon determines your life, and you have total control over your focus.

Once you start to practice controlling your thoughts, you'll discover that the power to control your life is as simple as changing your mind.

During class, I often say that things are simple, and then I see everyone looking skeptical. Notice that I said, "simple." Not "easy."

A vast difference exists between simple and easy.

Everything I teach is simple. In fact, a lot of what I teach is so simple that many people consider it obvious. Yes, the rules of the river are simple to understand, but they are not easy to incorporate into your life. Control takes commitment, focus, process, belief and effort. Control is simple, but it is not easy. Control will not happen overnight, but it will begin to happen as soon as you start...

You'll find a table on the Navigating Life Website containing limited statements along side their more powerful opposites. Simply visit http://www.navigatinglife.org and click on our galley, where you will find a link under "Shortcuts to Navigating Life" entitled "Empowered versus limited thoughts." Take a look at it and ask yourself, "How does what I constantly tell myself compare to these examples? Do my words limit me, or empower me?"

House Design in Perth

By Jacqueline Hars

House Design in Perth has been reflecting a worldwide trend towards sustainability and environmental awareness in general. In recent times new regulations have been passed, particularly with regard to water wise items, which will reduce our environmental impact on the land and our precious water reserves.

Many of the environmentally friendly initiatives have had government rebates provided as an incentive to purchase them. For many of these appliances consumers also receive the benefit of reduced running costs further down the track, thereby making the initial outlay for purchasing them not quite so formidable.

House design in Perth has also had a huge emphasis on outdoor areas. Many people are choosing to have a covered alfresco area, usually as part of the main roof, and using it as an extension of their living space. Indeed these areas can be furnished and decorated as creatively as the indoors. The use of all weather blinds for these areas help protect from weather and therefore make them a viable living space for most of the year.

Perth has a very Mediterranean climate and it is important that the weather be taken into consideration when designing a house. Eaves overhanging, for the afternoon sun, are just one example of this, as is trying to build your living areas to take advantage of Northerly sun in Winter months. This will warm up your living areas when they need it and save you on heating bills.

Of course not all blocks of land or floor plans will necessarily lend themselves to the "ideal" position. This is where it pays to get expert help to see what can be done. Sometimes it can be as simple as flipping a floor plan. Remember too that those professionals who you choose to help you do this sort of thing every day and will be aware of many ways you can achieve a better design for your ideal house space. The pay off for employing these people is cheaper costs on items such as electricity, for years to come.

As a result of the resources boom in Western Australia the building industry has been furiously working to keep up with the demand that has been created. There are many innovative designs and designers working to provide "dream" homes for clients. Apartments and building on small blocks has been a huge growth area and designers have risen to the challenge to provide all the comforts required as well as addressing environmental issues.

Housing design in Perth has certainly proven it can keep up with the trends as well as taking care of our environment in the process.

Jacqueline Hars is an interior designer in Perth, Western Australia. She is known for creating the "wow" factor for her clients.

She also has an intimate knowledge of where to source the best product and good tradesmen. With this knowledge she can save her clients around 10% on a typical project, and yet Jacqueline's fees are only about 5% of the project cost.

By engaging Jacqueline, her clients get a stunning result cheaper than if they did it themselves. Click the link for Jacqueline's free report on Perth Interior Design.

Disney's Magic Kingdom Orlando Florida

By Steve Sewell

No matter how old you are, this place will enchant you from the moment you enter Disney World property. As you drive toward the transportation and ticketing center, along Disney's highways, you see Mickey Mouse on the road signs. At first just his gloves over the top of the sign and as you get closer more and more of him is revealed.

You have to go to the Transportation and Ticketing center to get to the Magic Kingdom, either by ferry across the Seven Seas Lagoon or by Monorail. I always find it quicker to go to MK by Monorail and return by ferry as it carries more passengers. This would only really apply if you left the park when either the park closes or a Firework Display has finished. You can also get the monorail to EPCOT from here if you wished.

This is the first time you will get a glimpse of Cinderellas Castle. It sends a tingle down your spine and I have had grown men say "It brought a lump to my throat". It never does it again, just that first time. Once you arrive at MK you then need to queue (Get in Line) for security and the turnstiles for admission.

On entering MK the first place you come across is Main Street USA. Main Street is designed, through forced perspective, to look as if it's much longer than it is when you're walking towards the castle. In the mornings, you are all excited and have the energy to walk. When you're walking away from the castle towards the exit, it looks shorter. Also, it is believed that most people walk on the right side of the street, so, all the food shops are on the right as you enter for those wanting breakfast, while the shops are on your right on the way out! When you are coming out, all the shops on your right have gifts and souvenirs. Towering in the distance is Cinderella's Castle in all it's glory. This is where everyone gets to grab that first photo opportunity. There are also Disney photographers on hand to take your picture.

If you have arrived early, just as the park has opened it may be a good idea to go right through to the back and go on those rides first as most people will work there way to the furthest point visiting rides and attractions as they go. Some of the attractions for older guests are there too, such as, Splash Mountain and Big Thunder Mountain. A tip if there is a bit of a wait for both these rides, take a fast pass for one and queue for the other. Normally by the time you have done one ride it will be about time to ride the next one. A thing to note about fast passes, you can only use one fast pass at a time. So if you get a fast pass for a ride that says you should return between 10:00 and 12:00 you can't get another fast pass till after 10:00.

Try and avoid EMH (Extra Magic Hours) unless of course you are staying on a Disney property, this is when the park opens earlier and closes later for Disney Guests. The parks tend to be more full on these days.

The day time parade starts around 3pm and the sidewalks tend to get busy 1 to 2 hours prior to that. It does get very congested and it is difficult to cross the parade routes around that time too.
One other tip, if it is your birthday, anniversary or your first time visiting call at guest relations and tell them they will give you a badge and listen to the cast members say "Happy birthday Steve" or "How are you enjoying your first Visit Steve?"

MK can be one of the busier parks in Orlando but is well worth the visit. I wont go into all the rides that they have there you can find information about those sort of things quite easily. Try http://www.perfectfloridavillas.com/main/orlando-guide.aspx

Steve Sewell is a Orlando Villa owner and is part owner of http://www.perfectfloridavillas.com and also owns the informational guide website http://www.perfectfloridaguide.com he has been traveling to Florida for the past 16 years and has built up a wealth of knowledge.

How To Clean a Headstone, Tombstone or Gravestone

By Kendrick Lester

A headstone, tombstone or gravestone is a permanent marker, normally carved from stone or metal, placed over or next to the site of a burial in a cemetery or elsewhere. These stones are meant to stand as a memorial for the ones whose name are carved upon them.

Although the stone or metal used to create the marker will last a long time. Years of debris and other buildup can leave them looking dull and lead to quicker decay. Some of these stones can be very old, but most all of them can be cleaned by you for little cost. Chances are you have all of the needed supplies in your home right now. If not the supplies needed can easily be found at any hardware store.

What supplies will I need to clean my tombstones? Well this all depends on what type of material the headstone is made of. For instance a marble headstone is more delicate than a granite headstone and will be sensitive to acidic cleaners. Wire brushes can be used on some stones but not others, certainly never used on a bronze metal grave marker. For more information on cleaning different types of stone or metal visit the website below.

Once you have determined what the tombstone is made of then you can pack up the supplies needed and head to the cemetery. I recommend always checking in with the management to let them know what you will be doing. Also, a sure them that you will not be using any chemicals that will kill the grass or vegetation, and that you will be picking up all debris and trash.

Once a headstone is cleaned it will stay that way for quite some time. Even longer if it is a type of stone that will allow for a coat of sealant. However, I do recommend that you should clean your tombstone's once a year to keep them looking good and maintained.

Relief From Stress - Just Change Your Mind

By Michael Pollak

It all started when I changed my mind. What do you mean, you ask? Relief from stress is what started. Well, life can be full of hardships, difficulties, trials, and really bad stuff. Why should you be happy through it? I'll tell you why. The only true way to make it through trial after trial after trial is... focus. What kind of focus? Focus on what it is you truly desire the most; your vision for your life. In this case you want relief from stress.

Now that I've got your attention, listen to this. People experience stress in their life, of course. How do we get relief from stress? There are many tips, strategies, programs, potions and all sorts of things. You know what? A lot of things work to give you relief from stress. You can get information from just about anywhere and if you tried it, it would work. Then, what really is the solution. Nothing will work unless you are focused on your desired outcome.

I have a lot of proven ideas on managing your life to get relief from stress. I can give all of them to you. That's not a problem. The problem is; how do you make these solutions work in your own life? If you have never done something before there is always a feeling of nervousness, doubt, or worry. Maybe we won't be able to do it.

You might feel this way even if I hand you the step by step proven method to get want you want. A very successful person named, Joshua Shafran related a great illustration for this. I'll paraphrase. You are confronted by a mine field and you have to get across it. I, having successfully crossed this mine field numerous times, created a map that accurately marks every mine. If you follow this map you will make it across the mine field successfully.

I know what you're thinking. But this is making me stressed out just thinking about it. How is this relief from stress? Let's keep going and you'll see. Even though you may have complete trust in me and the map, you may very well be worried that you'll never make it across. Why? You have never done it before. Everyone comes up against things for the first time in their life all the time. How do we deal with it? By changing your mind.

Just because you have the right tools doesn't mean you can successfully cross the mine field. You need to believe in yourself. It takes focus. Focusing on what you are doing. How does this help you get relief from stress? We all have habits. We do things out of habit because we don't stop and consciously think about what we are doing. We just react. This is how habits lead our lives and we're just along for the ride sometimes. When we are focused on making decisions based on our vision for our life, we are empowered. Empowered to overcome habits and circumstances.

You see, circumstances do not control us. Though, sometimes we think they do. There is great power in making decisions based on our vision for our life instead of making decisions based on our circumstances. If we make choices solely based on our circumstances, we never improve.
Think about that. Do you want to improve? Do you want a better life for you, for your family? I know you do.

Here's how all this relates to relief from stress. I can tell you that you should make a habit of planning for each day and making your priorities the things that you really need. This will help you to avoid feeling like you can never accomplish what needs to get done in a day. Feeling like this can be a source of great stress. Just hearing this is not going to change your life or make you happier. Sure, you might feel good while you read it. But, after you're done and you get back to your life, you still have the stress.

Take this challenge and you will soon be in control of your life and not a passenger driven by your circumstances. When you have a decision to make, stop and think. Am I making this decision based on my vision for my life or based on my circumstances? When you are focused and determined to succeed no matter what powerful things happen. You find yourself looking for evidences that you really can do it. You know what else happens? You actually start to think differently. You start focusing on getting it done and all of a sudden you are. You are doing it!

Let's review a little. How do you get relief from stress? You need information, tips, strategies, and products. But, it is what you do with them that makes the difference; deciding to focus on getting relief from stress no matter what. If you decide right now that you will do whatever it takes to reach your vision, nothing can stop you. If you don't believe that, then you will never succeed. Success doesn't just happen by chance. You need to change your mind and start focusing on what you really want.

Try the challenge for a few weeks. Soon you will find that you are not living by those old habits anymore. You will find that you are taking the information you need to get relief from stress and putting it into action. You will make choices based on what will actually get you the relief from stress.
Too many people focus on bullet points. What are the tips? What are the strategies? What are the products? You need those things; however, these things are not going to improve your life if you are not focused on making it happen no matter what.

I know that you are trying hard in life to do your best. I know you are doing good. Take the concept we've discussed today and put it to use for you. When I decided that this is how I was going to live my life, my whole attitude changed. I see the end, where I want to be and I choose to do whatever it takes to get there. I truly feel like a tremendous weight has been lifted off of me. Life is good. Stress does not have to crush us. Relief from stress starts when you search for the knowledge and then live it. You will only experience happiness and joy.

Sincerely, Michael Pollak
