Is DNA Testing In America Today Reliable?

By Sam Ness

DNA is present in nearly every cell of not only the human body but in all living things. The DNA is stored in the nucleus, which is regarded as the brain center of the cell, and if each DNA were unraveled from its spaghetti like structure it would stand nearly as high as a man. DNA is often referred to as the molecule of heredity, as this DNA is responsible for the genetic propagation of most inherited traits.

This is why DNA testing is used so successfully in forensic identification, or identifying or exonerating persons of crimes. DNA testing has also made it possible to positively identify victims of natural disasters, which may have been impossible through any other ways. Many unsolved crimes are being reinvestigated if DNA samples are available. Often enough, a new culprit is found, and when the case goes before the courts, he or she is found guilty.

At the same time, more and more people sitting in jails are freed, because DNA evidence indicates their innocence.

Because the DNA sequences are unique to a type of species, DNA has been used to prove the genealogy of individuals and groups of people. But it doesn't stop there, due to the fact that any type of organism can be identified by examining the DNA, this technology is being used to identify endangered and protected species of wildlife, and to detect bacteria and other organisms that may pollute our air, water, soil or food. DNA testing is also used for organ transplant programs in matching donors to recipients.

The DNA issue has become one of those issues that have raised much controversy over the past few years as the technology advances, which it is doing at a rapid pace. Some people find that keeping DNA on file is an infringement of civil liberties, as it is not as simple as a mere fingerprint. DNA has that person's whole blueprint stored, such as ethnic group, hair color, family lineage etc.

DNA has proved invaluable in proving paternity cases, either before the courts or as the latest trend shows for individuals who buy a DNA do it yourself kit where they take a swab inside the cheek and send the sample away for testing. It also opened it to manipulations, with some dishonest people trying to manipulate, or cheat a DNA test with far reaching legal ramifications.

No matter how vigilant the authorities are, this is quite easily done by substituting DNA blood test sample. Law authorities are trying to implement more reliable systems constantly. This is very welcomed news especially for difficult cases of parenthood and serious crimes.

Tracing ancestral origins through DNA testing has unlocked the door to many who had come to the end of the road in assembling their family tree. DNA is being used to determine Native American or Jewish ancestry, and DNA is able to confirm paternal and maternal lineage for both males and females. The genealogy driven DNA testing has proven to be just one of the countless many areas that are now available since the secrets of DNA have begun to be unlocked.

DNA testing holds many puzzles for Sam Ness. His website DNA-Test-Secrets.com tries to aid those seeking truth.

The Challenges of Parenting Today

By Milos Pesic

Parenting today is a lot different from parenting a couple of decades ago. Our society is constantly evolving entailing various changes in the dynamics between parent and child.

Effective parenting today requires that the parent is fully aware of the world their children live in. Today’s world is highly technical, for one. Technology is very much part of our daily lives.
You will see eight year olds with their own cell phones. Most kids spend time chatting online than watching TV. Protecting your kids from online dangers such as child pornography is a major issue in parenting today that all parents must educate themselves on.

Media and the fascination with celebrities also wield greater influence in today’s society than ever before and these elements affect parenting today because they help shape a child’s views. It’s all about me, me and me in the modern world so it is not surprising that children grow up focused on themselves and whatever they want.

Child experts have said that children today are more advanced and mature than kids in the eighties, for instance. Children today start dating at a much younger age, often before they reach their teens and many fifteen year olds are already sexually active. These are just some of the hard issues of parenting today that parents need to address.

Another major concern in parenting today is the development of a child’s physical self-image, often compared to celebrities and models. More and more teenage girls want to undergo cosmetic surgery to enhance their physical appearance and look like the people they see in movies, TV shows and fashion magazines – their models of perfection.

This goal of becoming “perfect” also leads to eating disorders such as bulimia and anorexia in many teenager girls, which originates from poor self-image, insecurities and the constant message they get from media that being beautiful means being thin.

With all these challenges of parenting today, how can parents help and guide their children and keep them safe from harm? Communication, the basic principle of parenting, remains integral in parenting today. You need to verbally express your love to your children. Listen to them instead of lecture. Discipline in a firm but loving manner. Develop their self-confidence by allowing them to make simple decisions early in life and do not forget to praise their accomplishments or take note of their good behavior.

Build a strong foundation of love, respect, and self-confidence from the moment of birth so they will become well-equipped to make the right decisions on their own.

Cure Your Acne Naturally Today

By David Rambai

In this brief article find out how you can clear your acne naturally and with the minimum amount of fuss and hardship. Many acne cures exist but some fail the majority of acne sufferers.
The 3 simple steps I recommend not only cured my acne but have worked for many other acne sufferers.

Don't expect me to recommend any of the usual 'cures' such as zinc supplementation or fasting on apples...

...neither do I suggest spending lots of money on expensive acne products like cleansers or 'miracle' pills.

So onto what I consider to be the most effective acne cure anywhere...

1. Avoid eating vegetable oil. Vegetable oil causes hormonal imbalance that leads to nasty cystic acne break outs. IF you want clear skin DO NOT eat vegetable oils like sunflower oil. Found mostly in cooking oils and sauces, be on the lookout for these and find non-vegetable oil alternatives. You will see a major clear up of your acne by simply avoiding any consumption of vegetable oil.

2. Get lots of nutrients into your body. Modern food is generally depleted in vitamins, minerals and enzymes. Having a deficiency in any of these causes acne. To solve this problem simply eat more wholefoods and vegetables and take some quality supplements. Getting lots of quality nutrients into your body can often clear acne outright.

3. Check for any fungi infections. These can cause acne even in those people who are not genetically prone to having acne. When I got rid of my infection I found my skin cleared up completely and never came back.

These three steps are natural, safe, easy-to-do, effective at clearing acne and work quickly.

They really are the secrets to curing acne and should be adopted right now. To clear your acne educate yourself on the above three steps and you will find acne is actually very easy to cure.

Claim Your Happiness Today!

By Jessica Swanson

"The best way to secure future happiness is to be as happy as is rightfully possible today."-Charles W. Eliot

Tomorrow will be better. Tomorrow I will be happy. Tomorrow, tomorrow, tomorrow! Once the bills are paid off and the job isn’t so stressful…then I’ll be happy. Everywhere you look there seems to be another stressful situation in your life. Here’s the problem: tomorrow your bills may be paid off and your job may be less stressful, but there WILL be another hurdle blocking your path to happiness. There always is.

What are you waiting for? Life is always going to be filled with little disappointments and frustrations. There’s no question about it. But, you need to know that until you decide to be happy today, you have no chance for happiness tomorrow.

This is your life. Look all around you and let that soak in. Your finances, your job, your relationships…all of it is your life right now. And so you have a choice to make. You can either wish and yearn for happiness someday, or seize it today.

Stop focusing on everything in your life that makes you sad and depressed. Do not give these parts so much attention! They certainly do not deserve your time and energy. When you focus on the stack of bills, the piles of laundry, the job that you didn't receive, you will continue to feel a sense of hopeless despair.

Instead focus on all the wonder and beauty that surround you. It is everywhere. You may have to look hard…but, you will find it. Give your single-minded attention to all the things that make you smile. Look at the tulips pushing through the ground in spring; focus on the wonderful night-out with your friend; appreciate when you are able to curl up with a good book and cup of hot chocolate. These are the events that deserve your attention.

The only way to guarantee happiness tomorrow is to consciously choose happiness today. That's right, it really is up to you. The external events in your life will always be there pushing against your hopes for peace and happiness. Don't allow them to push so forcefully into your life! You are in charge, not the outside world.

Stop thinking about tomorrow. Stop hoping that tomorrow will be better. Instead, be content with your life today, no matter what that life may look like.

Then, something miraculous will happen...you will find your happiness patiently waiting for you tomorrow!
