Should You Peek Before You Leap?

True Love! Is there such a thing as true love? Absolutely! But Check it out First!My Grandmother once told me "Know who you are dealing with!" Nowadays its not only smart, but necessary to investigate a date or potential mate. People can and will lie about who they are and their intentions with you, so it's best to do a little investigating before you invest your time and heart into a relationship. The way we date and how we find mates has changed drastically over the years, especially with the popularity of online dating which provides a fun and easy way to meet new people, but also an easy way to lie. For as many online love success stories you may have heard about, there are also stories of heartbreak and frustration carried out by deceptive people who pretend to want love, companionship or friendship, but in reality are looking to use, con or take advantage of unsuspecting victims.

We all want to be loved. We want intimacy, companionship, someone to share with and someone to go through the ups and downs of life, but we should remember to be careful of the obstacles and pitfalls along the path of finding that love. Sometimes it can be hard to see past the fantasies and romantic ideals of love and see the real deal: Is this person right? Is this person telling the truth? Do I have a future with this person? No one wants to intentionally get involved with and/or fall in love with a married person seeking to cheat on his/her spouse or nor do they need a criminal, child molester or someone who wants to pretend they are in love for their own selfish reasons.Checking out dates and potential mates is not as difficult as it may seem. All one has to do is ask questions and use common sense.

If something sounds fishy, then don’t ignore or sweep under the rug. If something sounds too good to be true, then it probably is. If he/she seems to be hiding something, you probably need to know why. The internet is loaded with 100’s of sources of information that can be used to find out about other people and its all public information - you just need to know where to look and what to look for. You can discover if they live where they say they live, if they are married, have a criminal history or criminal future, if they are a sexual predator or in financial trouble. These are all things you need to know before you get involved with any person or relationship.
