The Hottest Jeans for Fall 2007 - Fit, Rise and Wash

By Katherine Wallace

So, you're trying to find the hottest jeans trends this fall, right? Is it giving you a headache? Well, look no further! I have compiled for you all of the best jeans for fall and winter 2007.

The number one thing to look for this season is a deep, dark wash for your denim. Nothing is more popular than deep indigo blue premium jeans! Dark washes are more than just popular!
They are also very flattering and slimming! Deep, saturated indigo jeans will give the appearance of longer legs, making the person wearing them look taller. Premium jeans designers like Blue Blood Denim, Paige Premium Jeans, and Chip & Pepper all featured dark washes for their fall and winter 2007 denim.

The different shapes and styles of jeans for fall and winter 2007 are limitless! From high-waist to mid-rise, from wide-leg to skinny, there is a prefect jean for every shape and size. Feeling overwhelmed? Don't worry - I'll break it down for you.

High-Waists: High-waist jeans are perfect for creating a curvy, hourglass figure! They also happen to be one of the hottest looks for the fall and winter season. The high-waist usually comes up slightly higher than the belly button. The waist of the jeans accentuate and create a tiny waist, which offsets the hips to create gorgeous curves. For an extra special look, find jeans with detailing like extra-large buttons and embroidery.

Mid-Rise: The mid-rise jeans are a fusion between the extreme low-rise, popular in recent years, and the high-waist rise. They rise about 1 1/2 - 2 inches below the belly button. A mid-rise is perfect for hiding and "holding in" that little extra around the mid-section. The mid-rise has been said to be the cure for "muffin tops," where the love handles hang over low-rise jeans.

Wide-Leg/Trouser Jeans: The wide-leg is the freshest cut this season. This seasons response to the skinny jeans, the wide cut of the legs create a long, straight line. With its roomy legs, these jeans hide every imperfection! The straight line from top to bottom gives the appearance of a taller, slimmer you. Be sure to wear these with a slim-cut top to balance everything out!

Classic Straight Leg: The classic, straight leg jeans are back this season with a vengeance! A nice balance between a boot-cut and a skinny, straight jeans aren't just "mom jeans" anymore! Say goodbye to tapering and unflattering rises! The classic straight is good for all ages, and creates the illusion of longer, thinner legs.

Boot-cut: Boot-cut jeans are timeless, making a comeback every season. Boot-cut is a great on almost every woman because the slight flare at the bottom draws the eye downward, taking emphasis off of the hips. Purchasing a great pair of boot-cut jeans is an investment. Avoid flashy detailing to take this jean with you from season to season!

Skinny: Don't worry, ladies! Your favorite jean trend for the past few seasons is here to stay! The skinny jean is perfect for accentuating and creating gorgeous curves. Though most think that only the very thin women can pull these trendy jeans off, it's just not true! The average woman can wear skinny jeans with long, loose tops to take emphasis off of the hips. Average and plus-sized women will also find that tucking skinny jeans into boots will balance out the hips. Tip: try buying your skinny jeans a size up for extra room and comfort.
Well, there you have it - the rundown on the most popular trends in jeans for the fall/winter 2007 season!

Success Does Not Fit My Self-Image

By Helene Rothschild

Do you have a successful self-image? Could it be that your old self-image is sabotaging your weight loss, health, career, relationships, or prosperity?

As a Marriage, Family Therapist, I had the opportunity to counsel many clients of all ages. My clients taught me that we all have a self-image. Unfortunately, we are often unaware of what it is, because it is usually hidden in our subconscious. Therefore, even though we strive so hard to reach our goals, if our self-image is not in alignment with our success, we are likely to sabotage our efforts.

For example, if your image of yourself is that of an employee, you are not likely to allow yourself to become a manager. It just does not fit your self-image.

If you see yourself as unlovable, you will probably push away the one who tells you, "You are lovable." If you have an image of yourself as being poor, you very well may sabotage your financial success and any chance to move up in your career.

For example, I wanted to join an exclusive tennis club in California and I heard myself sabotaging my enrollment by thinking negative thoughts. I do not have enough money. I can not play tennis well. I have no time. People will not want to play with me.

Since none of these statements were true, I recognized my fear of success. Being a member of the exclusive tennis club did not fit my self-image. I am a poor girl from Brooklyn, New York.

My unconscious fears could not accept a poor girl image in this club with wealthy people. Once I realized the issue, I was able to use my HART process (Holistic And Rapid Transformation) to update my self-image. I did allow myself to join the tennis club and I had a wonderful time. I broke through the fear that this particular success did not fit my self-image.

How many clubs or organizations have you not joined, because it did not fit your self-image?
This fear of success comes up very often in love relationships. Susan, a twenty-six year-old attractive blonde, was in tears as she told me how much she wanted to be in a relationship. However, all the men in her life kept leaving her. Susan felt she was unlovable.

In order for Susan to feel lovable, I guided her through a HART process that helped her change her self-image. It was not long before she began to attract more successful relationships.

Donna, a forty-two-year-old graphic designer, had a problem with obesity. Even though she set her intent to walk, join a gym, and eat the foods and drinks that would help her, she resisted all these positive changes.

When we explored the reason for her lack of follow-through, Donna said, "I am afraid to lose weight because then I would not know who I am." Donna's self-image was that of an overweight woman. Once she changed her old self-image to a new, slimmer one, she allowed herself to win the "battle of the bulge".

Ray, a thirty-year-old lawyer was not doing well in his practice. In the counseling process, he discovered that his self-image was one of a waiter which is how he worked himself through school. Once Ray updated his self-image to being a professional, his practice picked up considerably.

If you do not have a successful self-image, it is time to release the old image and replace it with one that is in alignment with your goals. You deserve success and happiness. Go for it!
