The Secret To Success in Internet Marketing - Or Why You Might Not Be Successful

By David L Paul

Once again the ugly question has been posed to me from a would be internet millionaire- what is the real "trick" to making money. This was asked after I had just spent two whole days trying to impart information about websites and why you need one, getting traffic to your site, converting traffic into sales, and so on. I has frustrated me for years that the folks I try to help never seem to listen to what I am trying to tell them- instead they are always waiting for the "real secret", you know, the one that doesn't require education, experience, and hard work. Believe me, I've been looking for years, and there isn't any shortcut to success. Problem is, there are so many marketers and their minions screaming to the top of their lungs that you can "passively generate millions of dollars on autopilot" or "make 7,777 dollars a week while you walk the dog".

The noise that they generate makes my attempts at bringing reason to the mix sound like a whisper in a hurricane! But like a fool I keep trying. Why? Because I see the damage that is done every single day. I know it isn't what the average marketer wants to hear, but barring a few exceptions, you are going to have to work hard, be consistent, and probably spend considerable time before you will ever see any significant amount of money. I didn't make what I consider to be a living wage until my third year online. Now I will grant you that if I had to start all over again it would not take as long because I know how to do it now. The nature of the internet is one of hype, and almost always what you hear is either blown way out of proportion, or simply being repeated over and over by other marketers trying to jump on the easy money bandwagon.I know that many of you that read these words have experienced what I am talking about, and many of you still believe that there is easy money to be made with little or no work.

I would never want to try and discourage anyone from learning the hard way, so I won't spend a lot of time trying to dissuade you. Well, having said all of this, I want to talk about some good things, too. The internet is the only place that you can open a business for little or even no money. You can't even compare it to what it would take to open a brick and mortar business.
I've done that, and it takes a whole lot more time and work to get into the black, and then you still have to struggle to keep it up. Frankly, I never want to do it again! Another thing about the internet is that it enables communication and associations that would be very difficult or even impossible in the non-virtual world. And on top of all that, there really is good money to be made on the web. And let me boldly state that I have cracked the money making code! Just kidding.
What I do know is how to help you build a solid foundation, accelerate your learning curve, and expand you "Opportunity Horizon". Join the team at The Work At Home Home for a career jump start!

David Paul has been active in internet marketing for over ten years, with his focus on affiliate marketing, branding, and teaching marketing principles to sub affiliates. Before going into business for himself full time on the web, he spen7 years with a marketing data firm that provided information to major internet and software companies. Is the Successful Sales Person Made Or Born?

By Margaret Norton

Many times when we think of a salesperson our mind brings up images of being locked in an office at the automobile dealership or held captive at a timeshare presentation. But all sales jobs are not like this. It is true that it takes a certain type personality to succeed in sales. A career in sales can offer you the opportunity to earn an above average income and unlimited potential for growth.

When I majored in marketing many years ago we were taught that everyone is selling someone something all the time. You can have the greatest product in the world but nothing happens until someone sells it. As people we are always selling ourselves to others. I think one of the main things needed to succeed in sales is a love of people. A sales person is always out there, always meeting people, and always networking. So, just what does it take to succeed in sales?

A sales person must have a positive attitude. Sales probably more than any other occupation involves rejection. With most products you have to ask a certain number of people to buy before the sale is actually made. Years ago when I sold life insurance, I eventually figured out what my sales ratio was. I had to ask about 10 people, in other words get 10 no's, before someone agreed to set an appointment with me. You must have a positive attitude to digest that much rejection day in and day out.

A sales person must have a plan. There are some jobs you can do that do not require a lot of planning. But when you are asking someone to spend their hard earned money you need to have a formula. You need training, sales materials, a presentation, and a system. Some companies provide leads or territories but typically most sales people are responsible for locating their own prospects. Sometimes people in sales have difficulty managing their time. Particularly ones that are outside the office all day. A successful sales person must be able to manage their time.
Having a plan is the best way to do this.

A sales person must be committed to their success. It has long been argued if a salesperson is made or born. My opinion is that you are born with a certain personality type and certain types do better in sales. Typically the more outgoing person ends up in sales but it really depends upon the product you are selling. An introvert can become more outgoing and can succeed in sales. But it can be more difficult for them. To be successful in sales a person must be willing to learn everything about the product they are selling, sales techniques, and how to get along with others.
This can take time. It takes 10 years to become a doctor, 5 years to become a lawyer, and 1000 hours to become a barber. Many times those in sales give up after just a few weeks or months, before they have had time to learn what is needed to be successful.

A sales person must be willing to continue learning and growing. Sales people are typically expected to be knowledgeable about their products and their company. They have to stay on top of what is happening as products change and situations change. Because they have so much contact with people they need to be aware of what is happening around them. Herbert Hoover said "the super-wise man learns from the experience of others." Top sales people attend meetings, read books, and associate with others in the sales profession.

A salesperson must know how to set goals. Some jobs just happen whether you do anything or not. But sales do not just happen. You have to make them happen. It is critical that a salesperson know how many sales they need to make to meet their quota, how much money they need to earn to maintain their life style, and what they need to do to make this happen. The best way to do this is to set daily, weekly or monthly goals.

A salesperson must be enthusiastic about their product. It is difficult to sell something you do not believe in. When you really believe in something, the other person can see and feel your passion. If you don't like the product or the company, the sale will be more difficult. It has been said that nothing great was every achieved without enthusiasm.

A salesperson must work hard and smart. Sales jobs are not easy. Much hard work is required if one is to be successful. But working hard is not enough. One must also work smart by managing their time and resources well, being disciplined, and following the example of others who have been successful. When I was in sales we followed the principle of "and then some." I didn't just give it my best, I gave it my best and then some. At the end of the day when I was ready to go home I would make one more sales call. Often that call would be the one that produced a sale. By giving just a little more time and effort you could propel yourself from an average salesperson to a super sales person.

All of the above tips have little to do with age, education, background, marital status, or sex. Some types of sales require specialized education or training but not all of them do. For the most part, success in sales is determined by the individual, by their attitude. Anyone can succeed as a sales person, if he or she wants it badly enough.

High School Musical Movie Success Paves Way For Sequel

By Zach Efron

The High School Musical Movie, produced by Disney became a run-away success when it was released for the cable channel a few years ago. The movie became a worldwide hit, launching its lead stars Zac Efron and Vanessa Anne Hudgens to super stardom. The movie has also spawned a special DVD, a live concert and other products. The movie was also extremely
Because of the movie's phenomenal success, the movie's producers decided to create a sequel- High School Musical 2. The sequel was staged during the summer break and is set in Sharpay and Ryan Evan's golf club.

At the start of the movie, Ms. Darbus' drama class is shown completely bored as the teacher goes on and on about the idea of Summer. The students can't wait for the clock to strike three so that they can be dismissed and go on with their summer plans. All the characters break out into a song-What Time is It? This is the beginning of the fun movie that teaches about following your dreams without stepping on other people and the value of friendships and staying true to yourself.

The stars from the first movie reprise their roles in the sequel. Zac Efron once again plays the role of Troy Bolton while Vanessa Ann Hudgens play the role of Gabriela Montez.

In this second installment of the HSM movie franchise, Sharpay Evans (played once again by Ashley Tisdale) convinces the club manager Mr. Fulton to hire Troy Bolton for the summer.
Sharpay figured having Troy work for the golf club where her family spends their summers (her parents seat on the board of the club), will mean the perfect opportunity to catch his attention and his heart.

Unfortunately for Sharpay, Troy requested that his friends and his girl friend be employed at the Lava Springs as well. Sharpay can't believe that she still has to share Troy Bolton with Gabriela and the entire East High basketball team during her almost perfect summer!

Once again Sharpay and Ryan try to break the two lovers up. Sharpay successfully confuses Troy and alienates him from his friends but in the process loses the respect of her beloved brother Ryan. Ryan ends up making friends with the other teens from East High. The whole team practices for the wonderful production that is put up every year at the Lava Springs to showcase the talents of the Evans siblings. This time Sharpay and Ryan work separately as Sharpay has managed to convince Troy to sing with her.

The sequel also became a huge hit and now third installment is already in the works and will be the first HSM movie to be released in movie theaters worldwide. The first two movies were just shown in the Disney cable network.

Seven Things That Can Wreck Your Life

By E. Raymond Rock

Sex ... Money ... Power ... Fame ... Good Looks ... Ambition ... Success

If any of these Seven become tangled up in the Seven Deadly Sins (Lust, Gluttony, Greed, Sloth, Wrath, Envy, and Pride), look out! Otherwise, they are simply to be enjoyed, but not to bet the farm on - it's only when we begin to grasp blindly at these things that we head down a precarious and deluded path. Grasping blindly means that we see these as some kind of truth, an unchanging truth where can find our eternal security and happiness. This is of course impossible; these seven things are transient, and they will disappear in a short period of time.

An ignorance of their extremely temporary status, combined with a refusal to acknowledge or even be aware of spiritual things beyond these temporal things, sets us up for tremendous suffering. When we expect things to be good, and they turn out not to be, this is a basic ignorance of how things really are.

If these seven things were ultimate truths, why must we continuously relive them?

Sex can be a bother. It's not as if you can have sex once and say, "There, that's it! I'm satisfied!"
No, you will have to revisit sex maybe as many as 18,000 times in a lifetime, or more!

And money can be such a worry. We worry about getting it, then holding on to it, how to spend it wisely, and how to get even more because we never feel that we have enough. Few rich people have a peaceful mind (until they give it all away).

Power is an enemy creator; someone will always be jealous of your power and want to take it from you. Few respect power; they respect leadership, power intimidates them.

Fame is a real inconvenience. Once we become famous and our lives become public property, seclusion is no longer an option. The short-lived high of attention quickly becomes a long-term liability.

Good looks, unfortunately, fade just as sand slips through an hourglass. Even with face-lifts and other cosmetic improvements, our speech and mannerisms change and give us away, as we worry constantly about getting old.

Ambition isolates us. When we become overly ambitious it's a bet that we become self-centered as well, and self-centeredness is the opposite of compassion.

Finally, worldly success is always destined for failure in the end. Success means that we have temporarily attained our intended purpose, but since everything in the world constantly changes, our success is always short-lived.

These seven things - Sex, Money, Power, Fame, Good Looks, Ambition, and Success never work out as well as we imagine they might. On the other hand, poverty, powerlessness, infamy, common looks, non-ambition, worldly non success, and the absence of sex; these are more or less the realities of a monk or nun's life, and perplexingly, lead to happiness.

Taking a stand between these extremes is what works for most people: Sex, but responsible sex; money, but only as much as you really need; control, but not overbearing control;
distinction, but always an underplayed distinction; natural appearance, not false representations; goals and aims, but within the restrictions of non-greed and honesty; and finally, success, but not restricted to only the world - success must include a sincere reaching out toward our Ultimate Reality.

Then the seven things that can wreck your life may change into the seven things that can save your life: Virtue, generosity, loving kindness, serenity, truthfulness, determination, and wisdom.

Can You Move Your Balls?

By Jan Evensen

Your business, your success are like big steel balls.

Imagine there's a big steel ball, it's as big as you, and it's incredibly heavy. It's so heavy that it won't roll on the slightly uneven ground underneath it. It's just completely stuck.

Most people give up and walk away. They're the 98 per centers who will forever be the employees, the worker bees that our society needs, and they will never do anything "great" with their lives.

The other 2 percent try to push the ball anyway. Success depends on it.

It won't move. It just will not budge.

But you keep at it regardless.

Pushing, sweating, straining, and suddenly, it gives just a little and rocks back into place. Now you've seen it move, you've had your first success, so you strain against it again, pushing, pushing, and eventually it rocks again and you push harder and it starts to move.

Gradually, the huge steel ball that's your business starts to move. Now that it's moving, it's easier to keep it going, but it's still taking a lot of work. But you keep at it relentlessly, because you've seen that you can do it.

As the ball picks up speed, it's now easier to keep it moving, and it starts to go faster and faster. Now it's moving as fast as you can walk, and all you need to do is give it a slight tap now and then to keep it on track.

Eventually, you have to run to keep up. The steel ball is off on its own. It does not need you anymore, because along the way, other people (employees, contractors, etc.) have joined in, and they're pushing your steel ball for you.

It's still your steel ball; it's just not your responsibility any more. And you have the freedom to go do whatever you like with your life, knowing the steel ball is being well looked after by other people.

That's your goal, that's what you'll achieve, just by being relentless and not giving in at the first resistance.

So give your ball one more push; eventually it *will* move!

Develop And Use Systems For Maximum Success

By Enoch Tan

The key to maximum success in everything lies in the use of systems. Some people achieve success in an unpredictable manner where they do not know exactly how it happens but sometimes they make it and sometimes they don't. Mastery is when you have refined the way you do things to a point where you have a particular way that works best for you every time you use it. That way of doing things is a system that produces consistent, reliable and optimal results. Systems are discovered and created.

If you want to become the best in what you do, you must develop and use a system that enables you to produce your best results. The aim of all effort towards success is to experiment, discover and refine particular ways of doing things that gets you the best results. This is what the best players who aim to play their best all the time keep doing. Winning is not a one time thing, it is an all time thing. Success that cannot be replicated at will is not true success. You are truly successful when you can repeat.

The entire universe is a system of systems. There is a logos or logical system for everything. All things are processes. Working on the process instead of the outcome is key to success. When you discover the system of an area of life, you become enlightened to the way things work in that area. Everything in life has a formula. There is a formula for wealth, health, relationship, self growth, enjoyment and spirituality. When you discover the formula or logos in any area, you can achieve success in that area.

There is a general system for everything, but the key to achieving the best results that you can have for yourself is to make the system your system. It is the specific way that you do each part of a process and the unique way that you make it all work together for you, that turns a system into your own. The system becomes personalized. A great musician can take a particular song and play it in a way that couldn't be compared with the original composer. It is because he takes the song and makes it his own.

The process to succeeding in business takes a significant amount of time before it happens. That is because you are working to create a system that works for you. All it takes is one missing piece for the whole system to fail. You need to learn all the things that are necessary to set the foundation in place for the system to operate upon. When the time comes where everything falls into place, that's when the wealth starts generating properly. That's when the business really starts to take off and move up.

Incomplete development of a system is the reason why people keep trying so hard over a period of time and still seem to be failing to achieve the kind of results that they desire. No matter how long it takes, it will never happen until they finally learn all the key components and integrate them together to make the system operate with optimal profitably. The secret is not to give up, but to keep on working at it until you figure every part that is needed to make the entire system flow together successfully.

The same thing applies to life as well. You probably find yourself gaining knowledge and coming to a place where everything is working well for you at the given moment because of your newfound awareness, but then it all falls apart again at the next moment. Sometimes it just makes you wonder what the heck is going on. You may have gained some workability in creating certain experiences you desire for awhile. But you either can't sustain, repeat or take it to the next level no matter how much you try.

The reason is because you still haven't possessed the rest of the awareness you need for it to happen. As you keep learning and growing, you will keep getting more and more pieces of the puzzle so that you are able to acquire better and better mastery in different areas of life for creating your desired reality. This realization is the answer to the mystery of ups and downs in the journey of life. Your life will get better and better when you keep picking yourself up in those areas that you have fallen and walk on.

There is an Asian Bamboo species that even after five years of watering, weeding and fertilizing is barely visible. Then in a span of about six weeks it grows two and a half feet a day to 90 feet and higher. It grows so fast that you can literally "hear" it growing. Obviously it grew 90 feet in five years, not six weeks, for all the time when growth wasn't visible it was developing a massive root system that would later support it's magnificent growth. Much of your life's work is development of systems to self actualize.

Use systems to run things for you with minimum effort. Much of the workings of the universe operate automatically by law. This is how higher intelligence is able to do an incredible amount of wonders. It has everything in place so that it does not have to personally intervene in every area all the time. You have to work like the universe to be as abundant and effortless like it. The key to effortless, continual and massive increase of wealth is automation. A system can confine you but it can also free you greatly.

Some things you think about, other things you don't. In order to stop thinking about some things, you need to spend some time thinking about them so you needn't think about them again. Have a system of doing things so you can make a thousand decisions without need for thinking. The more you create things that can run on their own without direct effort from you, the more you are working smarter instead of harder. Systems enable you to do things in a much more efficient, effortless and productive way.

You must create a system or be enslaved by another man's. Do not reason and compare, your business is to create. Create a system that has variations so that it will not be too predictable, routine and uninspiring. A system that is not open to variation will fail in situations of chaos. A system is never one thing but a combination of all those things working together. Sometimes those from outside the system are the ones ideally suited to fixing the system. Be inside and outside of your system for the best use.

College Speaking Success - Dating, Relationships, & Sexuality

By Paul Davis

As a love coach who has traveled to over 50 countries and 6 continents counseling singles and couples, I have been privileged to cross-culturally interact with people throughout the earth. I have come to learn that we all have the same basic needs and inner longings.

Each of us inwardly yearns for meaningful relationship, recognition, affirmation, and personal expression. We are social creatures that inherently need one another. This is how we are wired. To neglect or deny such is to live a mediocre life in isolation and misery.

Of course we all have been disappointed at some time relationally, but we don't have to sabotage our future love life by reason of our past pain. We can forgive and live; let go and enter a new life flow. As we do new blessings and wonderful people shall come into our life.

Being transparent and vulnerable is quite natural for children. However once we've been hurt and bruised, it is easy to erect walls. My job as a love coach and counselor is to help people again feel valuable, special, and live freely.

Fear many times grips our hearts when we are wounded relationally. After such a devastating experience it is natural that we are more guarded and careful before bearing our hearts with someone. Yet this simultaneously hinders our ability to deeply connect with people as we instead seek to protect.

It is my belief that connection is more important than protection. Of course we must protect ourselves from bodily harm and danger, but as it applies to our emotions, I feel it is better for us to be in circulation and freely embrace meaningful interaction.

Only than shall we enjoy life and love. Live and love fearlessly so you don't have to ever live with regret. Second guessing yourself and others is exhausting. Just simply communicate what you are feeling so everything is clear and people know how you feel. When you do those who aren't meant for you will move on and those who are predestined for you will serendipitously come to you!

Trust me I have applied, walked, and lived out these principles unto fruition. I have been broken hearted, hurt, demoralized, and seemingly despised. Yet in my own eyes I always have inwardly upheld myself and moved forward fearlessly and happily. Hence good things and marvelous people always come into my life to celebrate me!

I wish the same unconditional love and happiness for you! Let it begin within you as you give it unto yourself first and teach the world how to treat you!

Celebrate you today and don't let the past get in your way!

You are special, valuable, and a precious treasure!

Secrets To Online Business Success

By Chris Elmore

I believe that once you acquire the skills to run a successful business, the sky's the limit and you can take these skills and apply them to pretty much any other area of your life. There are 2 types of people and they are the winners and the losers.

The winners have a massive drive, know their strengths as well as their weaknesses and have a plan that is systematic and precise. They have endless amount of motivation and drive. Usually you'll find them working late when everyone has knocked off to go home. I can honestly say the people who are the richest often work damn hard!

The losers are good, honest hard working people who have great hearts. But here's the problem... good hearts and honesty are not enough when it comes to business. The reason they fail is because they do not have the right strategy in place, they do not know their strengths or weaknesses... but most of all don't have high standards.

Here is the proven steps to start your online business and become a winner not a loser.

1) Identify your strengths & weaknesses

2) Know what you want to develop

3) Do market research and know your product is viable

4) Set up your pre-sales page and received feedback from users

5) What price to sell it at and details to include in your copy

6) Put together your sales page and started to receive traffic

7) Focus on individual traffic aspects (SEO, PPC, Articles, Affiliates)

8) Collect emails through your free newsletter, report or contest

9) By this stage you have started your business and there will be money coming in.

Once you're established, all it takes is 10 minutes to write an email, blast it off and literally that night you'll start seeing sales flooding in.

Chris Elmore is a pro guitarist who has featured on Channel 7 News, produced 3 CD's, and appeared on Hits FM Radio... as well as perform live on stage to thousands of people. He has 5 online guitar sites that make over $350,000 per year and only take 2 hours a day to run.

Success - When We Gonna Make It Work?

By Mark McClure

Success to some people may indeed be as simple as this paraphrase of Bob Dylan's words on the subject: "Success is getting up in the morning and going to bed at night, and in between doing what you want to do".

Now since you are reading this article it's possible that you have some interest in being more successful in areas of your own life. Me too! That's one of the reasons I write because it forces me to think about the words I would use to define or describe success.

So let's take a closer look what Bob Dylan said. I guess most of the readers of this article are in the fortunate position of being successful at two of the three criteria he has laid out. It's just the big bit in the middle that gets everyone's attention!

What does he mean by "doing what you want to do?" Even a musical star like Mr. Dylan must encounter some things he doesn't particularly care to do each day. But I suspect he does some of them anyway perhaps because of contractual obligations in his music business. Or because he knows, like the rest of us, that life choices usually come attached with a certain degree of responsibility and obligation. (Just ask any parent or pet owner!)

My coaching experience has given me some insight into why people like Bob Dylan are viewed as successes. When I ask clients who have come to me for goal setting advice or mentoring, what is it that they would really want to be doing most days, the majority of them haven't got much of an opinion.

I am amazed but no longer surprised. Many people appear to be resigned to selling themselves short in life, as Abraham Maslow once commented. Trouble is, life has a way of throwing curveballs when we least expect it. For example, global economic changes are turning an increasing number of once secure career paths in the Western world into dens of uncertainty.

Where I think Bob Dylan has got it right is in making use of his unique combination of talent, persistence, choices and a dash of that old magic dust known as luck! The thing is, you and I also each have our unique combination of abilities, character and imagination. And luck!

Think on this for a minute."Advice for the young at heart. Soon we will be older. When we gonna make it work?"

These are magical lyrics from the UK band, Tears For Fears, and capture the essence of the message in this article. Go check out their beautiful video on YouTube.com - just search for the song title "Advice For The Young At Heart". That song was released in 1989, I was still in my 20s, and now their message has finally got to me!

I hope that you get something out of it too. And if you do, then I would kindly ask you to also let a few of your close friends benefit too. You can do that by forwarding this article to them by email. There is a small red button at the top right of the article screen. It's labeled "Send to friends". Just click that.

So, when are we gonna make it work?

Teaching ESL Vocabulary - 5 Stages to Success

By Shannon Tani

This can be a daunting task even for the most accomplished of teachers. Young and old students alike can be uncomfortable and shy when dealing with vocabulary words they do not know.

I've found that most students will go through five different stages when learning ESL vocabulary. When you are able to recognize which stage of learning your students are in, you can adapt your lessons to meet your students' needs. Some activities and games work best when students are in the first stage, while others require a much more advanced level of comfort with the words.

It's not hard to determine the level that your students are at, but you do need to know what you are looking for.

The 5 Stages
  1. Repeat the teacher.
At this stage, students are completely unfamiliar with the vocabulary. They will feel most comfortable working in a group situation. You should use your flashcards, say the word and have them repeat it. It's best to use a 1-1-3 pattern when teaching new ESL vocabulary. To do this, say the word once and have the students repeat. Say the word once again and have the students repeat. Then say the word three times quickly and have them repeat the word three times quickly. This fast repetition causes them to think less about the pronunciation and gives them a more native pronunciation.
  2. Recognize the word.
At this stage, students can associate the word with the picture on the flashcard, but are not yet confident enough to say the word on their own. You can lay out all the flashcards and ask a student to touch a particular card. Usually they can successfully do this.
  3. Speak alone, with prompting.
At this stage, students feel confident enough to say the word on their own, but may still be afraid that they will say the wrong word. This can be resolved by the teacher prompting them with the right word to say. Then they will feel confident enough to repeat it.
  4. Speak alone, without prompting.
At this stage, students feel confident that they know the vocabulary word and can say the word out loud without prompting from the teacher.
  5. Use the word in a sentence.
At this stage, students know the vocabulary and can start to use the words in simple sentences (e.g. "It's a..." or "I like...").

When teaching ESL vocabulary, you should realize that these stages are a natural progression for students. Some students may stay longer at one level than others, especially if they are shy or if they are learning English for the first time. Just remember...it's not a race. Eventually all of your students will be able to speak in full sentences.

Procrastination And Your Success - Facing The Challenge

By Sylviane Nuccio

Procrastination is usually the result of emotional issues. It is an emotional reaction. Most of the times, people suffering from it are NOT aware of it, and if they are, they feel stuck and don’t know what to do about it.

If you feel that you are procrastinating, don’t despair. The reason you might feel stuck with it is just because you do not know the source of the problem. All you can see is the result, and the result is procrastination.

So, how does procrastination show its ugly face? Well, it is very simple. You are NOT taking actions that you know you should be taking to go from point A to point B.

I have been victim myself of procrastination more than I would have wanted to.

They are different reasons why people procrastinate, but it is always an emotional issue. The most common emotional factor for procrastination is: “Fear of Success”. Yes, you read well, fear of success. That was my personal problem as well.

Now, why does anyone in their right mind would fear success? Of course it is not something we do consciously. It’s a subconscious reaction. Subconsciously we are avoiding the way we are going to feel or even the way we THINK we are going to feel once we have completed the task.
The next obvious question would be: who wouldn’t want to feel successful?

Again, consciously, everyone wants to feel and be successful, but subconsciously it is an all different story.

A very important thing we need to understand is that the subconscious mind does not “think” or “react” logically. Our subconscious mind reacts in accordance to what it was taught or better said, to what it has learned.

Our subconscious “blueprint” is shaped early in life through 3 main areas:

1. Verbal programming; what we “heard” 2. Modeling; what we “saw” 3. Specific incidents; what we “experienced”

What was learned subconsciously throughout our youth doesn’t have to be true. True or false, it is true for the subconscious mind.

Let’s take the case of verbal programming for example. If you heard the phrase: “Money is the root of all evil” over and over when you were growing up, chances are that you subconscious mind believes that money is BAD and it will protect you from it. As a result every time you might get closer to financial success, your subconscious will restrain you and you will translate this by procrastination.

Here is a very common illustration that I have been victim of and seen happening many times:
You are starting your home based business and you have all the tools and systems you need to get started and become successful. All you need to do is take action. Here is what happens: You are NOT taking action, you are procrastinating because you subconscious firmly believes that success is BAD for you and it will stop you before you could go much further.

Somehow you will find a way to do the things that will have the less effect on your potential success. Sometimes, you will even fool yourself in doing things that you make yourself believe are important when they really are not, but you are not taking action.

These are the symptoms of procrastination.

Once you know the signs, however, and have accepted the fact that you procrastinate, you can fix it.

A good way to start is to take a small none important task in which you know you procrastinate. Let’s say for example, cleaning your desk. You know your desk is a mess. Every time you look at it you’re thinking: “This desk is a mess, I’ve got to clean it”. However, you don’t. Everyday your desk is the same or even worse than the day before.

Here is something that will help you. Seat at your desk and close your eyes. Take a big breathe and see your desk all cleaned up. Once your desk is all cleaned up in your mind’s eyes, concentrate on what you are feeling. Ask yourself: “How do I feel now that my desk is all cleaned up?

Most likely your feelings will be a sensation of accomplishment and well being. As you are in this state of mind, talk to yourself like this: “Ok, my desk is now clean and I feel good about it. That is my result feeling. Therefore if I clean my desk I will feel good. This simple exercise will help you to clean your desk.

You can apply this exercise to everything. Close your eyes. See the results. Check your feelings about the result. Tell yourself about the result.

Don’t forget; procrastination is an emotional block. Many time it’s fear of what you are going to feel like. All you need to do is prove to yourself, prove to your ego that the result feelings are not that bad after all, until your ego understands that they are even GOOD.

They are some deeper techniques that can relieve this kind of emotional blockage as procrastination, but it will be the subject of another article.

12 Universal Principles of Success

By Robert Seviour

1. Ahead of any other requirement is your personal motivation. If you want 'it', you can have 'it' (whatever 'it' is) if you will do enough of the right things. But without burning desire, neither ability nor knowledge will get you what you want.

2. If your level of 'want' is high enough, the next step is action. Thinking without doing won't achieve what you long for. Action truly is the key.

3. Use Pareto's Principle to choose how to use your time. 80% of our actions do not contribute to achieving our goals, 20% do. So identify the 'thieves of time' and reduce them so that you don't find yourself saying, 'If only I had more time'. Remember, successful or not, everybody gets only 24 hours a day. It's what you choose to do in that period that determines your outcomes.

4. Many objectives cannot be reached without concentrated effort, so focus your energies.
Massive action will achieve massive results. Diffused efforts leave you with a discouraging array of uncompleted projects.

5. Develop a confident persona. Others will respect your opinions and advice if you deliver them with confidence; a diffident manner invites disbelief.

6. Establish yourself as an expert in your field. Become an author, write articles and reports, post them on the internet, give talks on your topic. As an expert you have credibility and influence.

7. There is a challenge which comes with increasing authority and success, you must always be alert for arrogance. It is insidious and damaging. The truly great are humble with it. When you know a lot, you realise that it's actually only a very little.

8. Treat everyone with respect. Every single individual on this planet knows more about something than you do. Respect generates respect. Arrogance does the opposite.

9. Listen actively. Don't just wait for your chance to talk, hear what other people are saying and attune yourself to the emotion behind the words. This is how empathy is generated. It's a thousand times easier to obtain what you want when empathy is working with you.

10. Sometimes your ideas are going to turn out to be wrong. Accept that this can happen, learn what you can from the experience and then move on. Sincere belief that you are right does not mean that you are. Even Albert Einstein had to face this truth.

11. Build your 'sales' skills. If you cannot make a convincing case for your ideas, you are doomed to a life of implementing those of other people.

12. Give your plans a 'reality check' early on. Try and sell the idea to someone, you'll quickly learn what the constraints are. The real world feedback will allow you to adjust and focus your concept.

Attention Restaurant Owners - How to Create a Menu for Success

By Jeffrey Hauser

This is addressed to the one million plus restaurant owners in the US. You are in business to make a profit. Sure, you also want to pass on your great recipes, watch happy people eating and create a legacy for your children. But, when all is said and done, you are in business to make money. Doing so is another issue.

It begins with a plan, including the type of food, location, and marketplace. Who will eat there and how much will they pay? How will you attract them? What are your long-term goals? How about a short-term goal of creating the restaurant and surviving the first year?

There are so many elements in the process, yet it’s fairly easy to list them, not necessarily in order:
  • The basic business plan
  • Arranging the financing
  • Securing the property
  • Seeking out a contractor
  • Creating the cuisine
  • Looking for employees
  • Obtaining insurance, accounting and legal resources
  • Planning the marketing approach
  • Setting a timetable
  • Designing a menu

The last one is not the least, in order of importance. It might even be the first. Without a menu, you have no restaurant. Why? Because it sets the tone for the whole operation.

It lists all the items you have for sale. It shows the public your pricing structure. It gives other information such as payment types, catering, banquet facilities, delivery or takeout, and other details about your business. If it doesn’t, it should. It’s a mini-advertisement or billboard, that eventually ends up in the hands of every single customer, therefore it’s terribly important. So, how much time did you spend on it’s content and design? Probably not nearly enough, but now you have some food for thought (pardoning the pun).

Now, a few words about my background. I worked as a sales consultant for the Yellow Pages for 25 years and encouraged all my restaurant accounts to place their menus in the directory. The problem was the need for a full page to accommodate the menu. That proved to be rather expensive and therefore, not an option, for many family-run restaurants.

Today, there are several online versions of the directory that allow this feature. Luckily , there are some more specialized sites only list restaurant menus, but they also retype them for some reason. I prefer an online copy of the actual menu, which helps display the flavor of the restaurant. I think most people prefer to see the real menu for that reason. One such site even asks for restaurants to post them on their site for free. Menuelephant.com is my choice for placing your free menu. It will gain you maximum exposure with a zero cost investment. You have no excuse not to go there and try it. Where else can you get free advertising and a purple pachyderm as a business partner?

Jeffrey Hauser was a sales consultant for the Bell System Yellow Pages for nearly 25 years. He graduated from Pratt Institute with a BFA in Advertising and has a Master's Degree in teaching.
He had his own advertising agency in Scottsdale, Arizona and ran a consulting and design firm, ABC Advertising. He authored a book about his directory years, "Inside the Yellow Pages" which can be seen at his website, http://www.poweradbook.com and he is currently the Marketing Director for http://www.thenurseschoice.com a Health Information site and http://www.menuelephant.com which posts restaurant menus on the "site you'll never forget."

Rejecting the "Can't" & Accepting Your Success

By G. Everett

A simple truth I found out - the Law of Attraction is as real as the computer you are viewing this on. The principal is simple much like when you turn on your computer. You might not understand the Intel processor running at 2 million cycles per second but the screen is emitting light waves with graphics and text. What we do with the Law of Attraction is much like your computer. Its connected by the Internet to the World. Quantum physicists and scientist similarly have come to understand this law of the Universe. It is all energy and everything is connected through this energy.

You probably are asking WHY the Law of Attraction?

Around 1991 I found the Law of Attraction almost by "accident." I say an accident because the law of the Universe is well documented but not well advertised, not at least in the early 90s. This sub-atomic area of the Universe is defined as energy or sometimes referred to the zero-point field. It is lowest definable state of energy, the beginning that connects where we are all connected. The "accident" I experienced was picking up the right book at the right time, a book on real Wealth secrets. I realized I wasn't as broke as I thought, just more depressed by years of reverse wealth teachings.

Much like other life stories I was flat broke, no job and living in a park. I still had my sanity, clothes on my back and a mind full of ideas. Thoughts are where this energy initiates the law of attraction. Wealth begins with a state of mind, Thoughts! This is the simplicity of it. In reality it doesn't matter whether you believe it or not. The "accident," our experiences, and the people we talk to are all connected to this zero-point field of pure energy. We shape these thoughts and actions by how we think and begin to realize our real wealth.

I am not talking about repetitious mumbling of what you want but real thoughts and emotions creating wealth. Using your thoughts one can materialize thoughts into physical reality. Much like the example used in "The Secret," Henry Ford industrialized America by a single thought.
His thought of a 'horse-less buggy' became reality powered by tapping into this energy. Of course he didn't twiddle his thumbs but used his thoughts to empower the 'horse-less buggy' in to a real object. He didn't think negative thoughts, "I can't do this." You have to eliminate "can't" out of your thoughts. That is reverse wealth teaching we have been subject to. Negative thoughts and emotions create just that -- negative thoughts and emotions! I had thoroughly convinced myself I was the mostly unluckiest man on the planet. I attracted those negative thoughts and emotions creating my poor position. Opposites were only thoughts away. Thinking positive thoughts created a perfect job working with a new field I was interested in, GPS. Global Positioning System was new and the job was perfect. Positive thinking began the energy thrust that changed my life. I didn't just "think" about it but followed my emotions - the first interview, the job was mine!

You now know what to do with the Law of Attraction. If it's a new car, a new house or a new job - the sky is the limit! It can be a new stream of Income or a new set of friends. What I found is available to you now - I wish I had met Bob Doyle and Joe Vitale back in the 90's. Here is some excellent self-help sources that I am involved with them and will begin your journey to being an Internet Millionaire and the Law of Attraction. I recommend at least Bob Doyle's book & course - about Wealth without a Reason. The author, Bob Doyle also have helped multiply my wealth ans success.
The Law of Attraction was introduced to me in 1991 and continue to fulfill my dreams including a seven-day Caribbean cruise this season! Thoughts and a positive attitude are the beginning to your new Wealth. Be sure to visit my websites above for the positive vibes.

Believe In Your Abilities To Succeed

By Kevin Sinclair

Your self belief directly influences your destiny and success in life. The beliefs that matter most in life are those that are deeply and often unconsciously held. On the surface, you may think that you believe you deserve the best in life but if your deeply and unconsciously held belief is that you are unloved, unworthy, and incapable of achieving the success you desire, then you will find success and happiness difficult to attain.

Success is a gift you give yourself as a direct result of the beliefs you hold about yourself.
Therefore, it is extremely important to evaluate your beliefs and become aware of any that are holding you back or even worse, bringing the very things that you don't want into your life.

Success is the result of choosing the right goals for your life and taking the most effective steps to achieve them. Our ability to do both these things is directly affected by the beliefs we hold about ourselves. Do we believe we are capable of achieving our goals? And if so, are those goals truly our own? Being true to yourself is an integral part of genuine success and it is impossible to be faithful to your own needs and purpose in life unless you understand what they are.

This means you need to be consciously aware of your deepest beliefs about life. The starting place of this consciousness is to ask yourself questions and then examine your responses. What is most important to you? For example, if your family is more important to you than your career, then in order to be successful you need to create a lifestyle that supports your family values while pursuing your career goals. If you do not do this, your true beliefs will cause you to sabotage your success.

If you are lonely and would like to experience love and romance in your life but you feel unattractive and expect rejection, you will probably not even try to meet people or will drive people away because of your lack of confidence.

The good news is that when you change your beliefs you change your destiny. Thus, your beliefs directly determine the success you achieve in life. Our beliefs influence our thoughts, feelings, words and actions, all of which paint the canvas of our lives with relationships, experiences, successes and failures. Therefore, if you are not successful in any area of your life, consider your habitual thinking about that area, the words you speak about it and the deeply held beliefs these may reflect.

Repetitive experiences in any area such as job loss, insufficient income and relationship break ups are also an indication of deeply held but often unacknowledged beliefs that can rob you of happiness. Alternatively, your successes also reflect your beliefs. For example, those of you who have overcome difficulties to achieve a goal such as a college degree, promotion or other personal goals have been able to do so because of beliefs that support you.

The obvious and most important belief you can have is that you can actually do the thing you desire to do. If you believe you can't do something then that will be true for you. Fortunately, your self beliefs can be changed and so too can your life.

The first step to changing limiting beliefs is to understand what they are. You can do this by monitoring your self talk. Do you put yourself down a lot? Do you feel like a failure and tell yourself so? Keep a record of what you are telling yourself for a couple of weeks. You are looking for those thoughts that repeat regularly because they will have the strongest impact on your life.
Once you have identified them you need to spend some time considering how they may have affected specific areas of your life.

What are the deeper beliefs about yourself that they reflect? Once you have identified the most powerful beliefs that are negatively affecting your life you need to develop strategies to change them. The most effective way to change beliefs is to attack them from multiple angles.

If you believe you cannot accomplish something then you need to begin to do things that will build your confidence in yourself by doing difficult things. Powerful changes can be made to your beliefs about yourself by doing dramatic and frightening things successfully such as sky diving, bungee jumping or learning to do something you have been afraid of such as flying a plane.

Longer term changes to beliefs can be accomplished by rewriting the negative beliefs positively and using them as affirmations. However, the more evidence you can find to prove the truth of these new beliefs the more effective they will be.

Finally, stay away from people who discourage you and try to set in place your old negative self beliefs. Unfortunately, you may need to cut some people out of your life altogether. You need to have people in your life who support your positive new beliefs.

Your beliefs determine your future; they are life and death to you. Therefore whatever undermines your future happiness must be discarded. Your life is a gift to you. Do not let anyone or anything rob you of your best possible destiny.

Discover Kevin Sinclair's system for making profits regardless of whether anyone joins your network marketing business.

How to Talk to People - 9 Super Success Tips

By Peter Murphy

We admire those who know how to talk to people, or have the innate ability to easily engage in a conversation even in an unfamiliar gathering. Others believe that some are born with the natural ability to talk to people or they have what they call the gift of the gab. However, the ability to talk or convey ideas whether in a small group or up on stage before a large audience is not an innate ability but an acquired skill. It can be learned, enhanced, and perfected. All you need are the right information and the determination to do it.

Were you disappointed before because you were not born with the gift? Then worry no more and start to learn the skill. To begin with, here are some helpful tips on how to talk to people.

1. Be presentable. You do not need to get the best couturier in town to have you packaged. All you have to do is to be dressed appropriately. It is one way of building your self-confidence and it will help you to act confidently.

2. Keep a pocket full of information. Be up to date with the current events, and keep a mental list of good topics of discussion. These are handy tools to keep you ready to talk to almost anybody.

3. Get yourself centered and focused. This is a basic if we want to establish connection with the person or people we are talking to. Develop the ability to shake off recent events that somehow ruined your day. Take a few minutes if you need to before engaging in any conversation.

4. Be respectful. Respect the feelings, emotions and opinions of others. Everyone has the right to their opinion and it is healthy to agree that we disagree. Let every one have their moment to be heard and sincerely listen to them. That way it would give them a sense of importance.

5. Maintain eye contact. It is one way of showing interest in the person we are talking to.
Women, they say, maintain eye contact more than men but men could acquire the skill through practice. Movements or stray thoughts tend to sidetract a person. Be aware of them and learn to ignore them.

6. Listen. Listening is a serious business. It is easy to talk and talk but we defeat the purpose and lose the chance of establishing rapport. There are situations that are more important where active listening is imperative. You will not miss the cue for your turn if you listen attentively.

7. Establish rapport. It is not an easy thing but sincerity is the key that unlocks the door in establishing rapport. Synchronizing behavior or mimicking the pose, facial expression, gestures, body language, and tone of voice of the other person are ways of building rapport.

8. Adopt a positive attitude. Make sure your words, tone and gestures are all saying the same thing. Find out what you have in common, or if you seem to have nothing in common, adjust.
Try to become the other person for a short time.

9. Always ask an open ended question. This will help the continuous flow of conversation and will help you and the group to keep the encounter alive and flowing with information.

Discovering how to connect with others and employing these strategies will make one successful in talking to people. Talk means to express, exchange ideas by means of spoken words or to convey information or communicate in any way. Take these simple steps and you are sure to make the act of talking to people fascinating and memorable for all. One day someone may come up to you and ask where you learned how to talk to people.

The Secret To Success - Choosing The Right Network Marketing Company

By Grace Sapp

How do you choose an MLM company? Obviously it is important to research a company before you decide to market for them. What most people don’t understand is what they call “analyzing” a company really is not adequate. Every major company out there on the market is well established, they’re successful, they have high number of sales, and have a lot of successful marketers in their company.

So then, what makes each company stand out differently from the other? Why would you not find the same amount of success in each company? The answer is that there’s much more going on here. There are many other factors to consider that shockingly, go unnoticed and silent by most people. Most people aren’t aware of the important information about the company they are marketing for. They know about the products, they know the sales numbers, and they’ve read about the comp plan. But they don’t really know about the company itself.

It’s virtually like a home business war for distributors out there. The bottom line is, most people aren’t going to give you the straight scoop because they’re either ignorant or unwilling to let it be known that their opportunity really isn’t that great. There are a lot of great companies, but not a lot of great opportunities. That may seem like a contradiction in terms, but it’s not really.
A company can be a successful, stable company, but it may no longer be growing. Amway is a great company, but I wouldn’t recommend anyone start a business in it today, as it is long past its growth curve.

There are certain key indicators you have to look at. The key indicators you have to look at are the annual growth of sales of the company, and the number of people advancing in ranks on a monthly basis. This tells a person how the average distributor is doing, not just the “hot shots”.

Remember to look at annual data. – Try and evaluate the course the company has been on the
past few years and where it seems to be headed.

It is important to note, however, that most all brand new companies will show a higher rate of growth than others. Statistically though, these companies are more likely than not to go out of business. So typically I would not recommend a start-up company. What you really hope to find is a mature company, something that has at least 5 years of business under their belt that is currently experiencing tremendous growth. This is where the money is made in this industry.
Don’t let anyone kid you, money is made when a company is in a rapid growth curve.

Really analyzing a network marketing company should really be similar to the way an investment analyst would look at various companies in terms of investing in their stock.
However, in your case, you’re not looking at income protection. – You’ve got to grow an income! So any stock that’s just piddling along at 5% a year, you’re never going to grow an income with.

When you want to make money by investing in stocks, you don't invest in Microsoft or Coca Cola. Why? These are both extraordinarily successful companies that're doing very well. - But they are no longer experiencing growth. They're safe, reliable investments if you want to protect your money, and they'll give you a modest amount of growth. But you will never grow a huge nest egg. If however, you could've invested money in Microsoft 25 years ago, when the company was experiencing rapid growth, you'd be a multimillionaire today. Network marketing is very similar, and although they are rare, these opportunities do exist in our field.

Now, there are other factors at work here. In addition, you want a really good product that customers like to take regardless of the money, because eventually the growth curve will stop. At that point, if people were only taking the product just to make money, your business will dry up very quickly because the opportunity has ended. You want a product people love so much that once the growth of the company stops people continue taking the product. This is your residual income.

The bottom line is that there is much more to choosing an MLM company than is being made public. Check out your company, if they are experiencing rapid growth, you’ll know. – They’ll be shouting it to the Heavens! If you’re in a company and they’re not making these numbers clear, than they probably aren’t the best opportunity.

Take a company that’s growing 5% a year. In order to double your income you’d have to work 20 times better than the average distributor for a year, or work for 20 years. - Just to double your income! The truth is, most of us aren’t 20 times better than average. I know I’m not! Because average is just that, the majority. So the trick is getting involved in a company where the majority have successful, continually growing businesses.

God bless!

Strategies for Success: 9 Ways To Be More Creative

By Lisette Howlett

We all know how essential creativity and creative thinking is to business success. Being creative is not always coming up with new or niche ideas it is also about positioning old ideas in a new way, or finding a solution to a problem that makes you faster, better, cheaper.

This mlh global hr consulting strategies for success article proposes 9 ways you can be more creative

1. Avoid self imposed barriers. These can be imposed on ourselves consciously or unconsciously. They are particularly difficult to recognise but relatively easy to correct. Try asking yourself – what would be an ‘out of the box’ solution; what would xx do? Try brainstorming different ideas – follow the brainstorming rules – nothing is too outrageous to go on the list. Talk to others, particularly people who you think are creative, and get insights into how they think though problems.

2. Try thinking of more than one answer to everything. When you select your preferred solution check this against personal norms – was it predictable that you would choose this solution?

3. Avoid Conformity. Try thinking – ‘what would be totally outrageous to my collaborators, my customers, my suppliers, my network, my friends?’ If you do come up with a radical or different idea think carefully about how you introduce it – using good process, stakeholder identification and different influencing techniques mean that you can ease in a solution that might otherwise be rejected.

4. Challenge the obvious. It can be tempting to find and use the most obvious answer as there is a lot of effort required to challenging the obvious solution.

5. Try to consciously think broadly and long term – even if you use analytical thinking to do this. Practice with mind maps and other visual tools that encourage non linear thinking. Try the paradigm question: “What is impossible to do right now but if you could do it would fundamentally change your business etc”?

6. Avoid making up your mind too quickly which can eliminate possible solutions or areas of thought at too early. If your inclination is to say ‘this won’t work’ try instead to say ‘this will work if we do xx’ or ‘what would be the benefit if it did work’.

7. Experiment with people you trust and are comfortable with. Tell some collaborators that you are consciously trying to be more creative and so will be making more ‘out there’ suggestions. If you prepare your environment it feels safer and you are more likely to take risks.

8. Avoid cynicism and negativity. This will prevent people wanting or trying to put new ideas forward. Not only will this curb your own creative thinking but that of everyone around you. If you find you have tendencies in this way – try disciplining yourself to always think of one good thing about an idea BEFORE voicing any critique. Humour can also often unwittingly appear
cynical or negative, or intimidate others – think about how you use yours; and from time to time adjust it according to the needs of the people you are with.

9. Try using phrases such as:

• That sounds interesting, tell me more …
• That sounds interesting, let’s try it …
• I have never thought of it like that, thanks …
• It sounds off the wall, but I wonder how we can make it work …
