Reflexology Programs Today

By CarolAnn Bailey-Lloyd

Find Reflexology Programs in the United States and Canada. Today, students interested in learning a unique form of massage therapy can enroll in anyone of several reflexology programs that are designed for the future natural healer in mind.

Reflexology programs vary in length and instruction modules, however; students can take introductory classes to get a feel for this ancient healing art; and can then proceed to more advanced levels of training should they choose to pursue professional fields in reflexology. In addition to foot reflexology, it is also good to know that there are several of these programs that offer training in hand, body, ear and face therapy as well. Of course these programs are sometimes included in comprehensive career training programs, as well as electives, home-study courses, and continuing education classes.

Typical reflexology programs range in duration. While some may be completed in as little as a few months, other courses are more in-depth and may take up to a year to complete. Practical training includes studies in anatomy, physiology, reflex areas and application of reflexology to the body, ear, feet and hands; pathology, energy healing concepts (i.e., Reiki and chakra balancing), among other related training. Students who successfully complete all coursework earn a certificate or diploma of completion. Other natural health therapies that are offered through reflexology programs may sometimes include supplemental training herbology, botanical medicine, hot stone massage, and other holistic therapies.

A number of advanced reflexology programs are available to graduates who have earned certification as a practitioner. In addition to more in-depth methods, future teachers are taught how to effectively communicate with students, develop quality curricula, time management, business and marketing skills for the entrepreneur, and other associated educational matter.
Additionally, holistic health practitioners or massage therapists who are seeking to expand health services to clients, find that completion of any one of a number of these programs can be beneficial to expanding already established, and client services.

If you (or someone you know) are interested in finding reflexology programs, let professional training within fast-growing industries like massage therapy, cosmetology, acupuncture, oriental medicine, Reiki, and others get you started! Explore reflexology programs near you.

Holistic Programs - Popular Studies

By CarolAnn Bailey-Lloyd

Find Holistic Programs in the United States and Canada. If you're pursuing a career in the healing arts, it's time to explore some of the many holistic programs. In addition to holistic healthcare courses, students can apply to programs in natural health, energy healing, spiritual counseling, herbology, iridology, massage therapy, and more.

Some of the more popular holistic programs include training in herbalism. Typical subject matter involves anatomy, physiology, wild crafting, medical botany, herbal medicine formulation, preparation/dosing; ointments, lineaments, basic nutrition, Bach flower remedies, herb cultivation, diet and organic foods, supplements and minerals, aromatherapy, Chinese herbal medicine, and first aid. These particular holistic programs are designed for treating the "whole person," often resulting in a certificate or diploma of completion. However, holistic programs in herbalism are frequently part of acupuncture and Oriental medicine school curricula, as well as naturopathic studies.

Other popular holistic programs include hands-on training in various massage therapies. These courses are usually between 300 and 500 hours in length; but in some healing arts schools, advanced massage programs run well beyond these training hours. General education entails anatomy, physiology, kinesiology, and the history and philosophy of massage. The difference between massage courses is each one of these holistic programs covers its own set of bodywork modalities. In standard massage programs, students will learn massage techniques like deep tissue massage and Swedish massage; in more comprehensive curricula, students gain practical training in these disciplines, as well as geriatric massage, Trigger point therapy, craniosacral therapy, infant massage, and Thai massage, among 80+ additional methods.

Some compelling holistic programs focus on nutrition and wellness. In a holistic healthcare practitioner program, students learn about herbal remedies/therapies, bodywork techniques, ear candling, iridology, spiritual counseling, meditation and visualization methods; energy healing therapies (i.e., Reiki, chakra balancing, harmonic balancing), and other mind-body-spirit medicines.

Generally, holistic programs involve natural healing therapies designed to help support and enhance the body's self-healing mechanisms. Students who fulfill all educational requirements of the respective course are awarded a certificate of completion, and in some instances - as with massage therapy - graduates can become Nationally certified upon meeting all eligibility requirements. In addition, there are a number of holistic programs geared toward the professional medical provider, like holistic nursing. These courses involve aforementioned studies, in addition to other relative subject matter; and specifically created for nurses and nurse practitioners seeking to broaden professional healthcare treatment options.

If you (or someone you know) are interested in finding holistic programs, let professional training within fast-growing industries like massage therapy, cosmetology, acupuncture, oriental medicine, Reiki, and others get you started! Explore holistic programs near you.

Foreign Students and Exchange Programs

By Nick Sanders

Students studying in their home country still have a chance of becoming a foreign student and studying in a foreign country. Through bilateral exchange programs between universities from different countries, several students are sent to study a few units in other universities.

Currently, more universities from all around the world are participating at such programs. The initial aim of such endeavours is exposing bright students to the culture and best practice of the other university. As the student goes back to his home university after an agreed period of the exchange period, he is expected to adopt and relay the best qualities and culture he observed in the other university form another country.

Usually student exchange programs do not require the student to complete their study in the other university. The two universities, the one where the student is currently enrolled and the other from another country, must have a binding bilateral agreement for the exchange program.

Several students from the agreeing universities will exchange with other students for a limited period of time. Usually, exchange students go to another university for a year or less.

To be able to qualify for such an education program, you must agree to the terms and conditions of the agreement. You should have completed at least a year of full-time studying at your current university. Your current university must also approve the units or programs you want to take up in the exchange university. Others will require you to be fluent in, or at least be knowledgeable about the language used at the other university. On top of all of this, you should exemplify your skills and intelligence by having an impressive academic record. As you fly to the other country to attend courses at the other university, you should always bear in mind that you are representing your university and your country. Be disciplined, but also friendly in nature.

Three Ways to Make Money with Get Paid To Programs

By Terri Tutten

There are many reasons that people decide to make money online. There are those who have lost their jobs, and need to find a way to earn some money, and be their own boss. There are stay at home moms who want to bring in some extra income to help out with household expenses. There are students who want some extra cash, and find it easy to earn money online.

Get Paid To (GPT) Programs are very popular with good reason. They’re easy to get into, most of them are free to join so there’s no financial risk, and there can be some good payouts.

There are three different ways to make money with GPT’s. You can be the person who is taking the surveys and completing offers, you can be the middleman who is promoting the company and getting referrals, or you can even start your own Get Paid To site.

If you’re the person who is taking the time to complete the surveys and offers, it’s very easy to get started. Most of the sites have great forums with very active members to help you out with suggestions, and in most cases the person who referred you will be more than happy to answer your questions and help you.

A lot of times the companies that you’re completing the offers for will give you incentives to complete their offer, in addition to the cash you earn. You may receive free samples of their products, thirty day free trials, and gift cards with cash values. I’ve received many Circuit City gift cards which I’ve used countless times.

It’s so easy to complete the offers, too. You can sit down and relax with a cup of coffee, log onto your Get Paid To site and choose your offers. Just be sure to be very organized, so that you can keep track of which offers you’ve completed.

Your earnings will first go into a pending state; after the company confirms that you’ve met their requirements, they will notify your GPT site and the earnings will move into an earned state. After you’ve earned the minimum required for payout, you’ll receive your cash!

So you can see that it’s very easy to get into the Get Paid To market, and start earning some decent cash online. There is no investment required for most sites, and personally I’ve never paid to join a site in order to take a survey or complete an offer.

Be sure to read all the rules of whichever site you join, participate in the forums, and you’ll have found a great new way to make extra money, or even a full time income on line.

Terri and her husband James are working to pay off their debt by the end of 2008. They intend to use their online earnings to accomplish this goal; read their daily online progress at Our Debt Free Lives

Exercise Swimming Programs

By Anne Clarke

The focus of many different kinds of exercises is to maintain physical as well as mental health and stability. Especially in cases of people with disabilities, many of the swimming exercise programs for the disabled focus not only on the body, but the mind and spirit as well. Now, the unification of “body, mind, and spirit” is quite a clichéd concept, but it works. I suppose my argument is that, in some way or another, when the three are out of balance any person is relatively disabled anyway.

A perfect balance of the body, of mind and (if you will) of the spirit is the very best way to live. Homeopathic, other alternative medical professionals – and even strictly scientific medical professionals agree that the better someone is feeling the better his or her chances of healing are. This includes the maintenance of an individual’s overall health, and of course, exercise is a very important part of that.

If you want to enhance your overall quality of life you do not have to have an illness or physically disabling disease or injury to do so. Of course, medically, an illness can be successfully treated through exercise and meditation. Movement, activity, freedom and overall quality of life will improve, but also, healthy people will benefit as well as help prevent potential health problems in the future. I believe that everyone should consider their future and their own happiness. And this is why an exercise program, such as one of the swimming classes I mentioned, is so great.

These swimming programs target the relaxation of the body, increase the issues of mobility and physical function, as well as provide a soothing sense of mind that will last much longer than the class itself. Therefore, these special swimming programs are important, because they combat the issues which virtually any people with different kinds of disabilities have to face. Swimming programs are wonderful – but as far as exercise is concerned, swimming also works every muscle group.

The main point is that your workout time (disabled or not) should not be a chore – but a sanctuary. A time where you can relax and enjoy the health you are bringing to your body – something that you want and need as part of your daily routine, that is what your workout should be. No matter what kind of exercise you do, the notion of breathing, enjoying your workout program, and even meditating on the unification of mind, body and spirit is going to prove healthy for you in the long run.
