A Cat Island Bahamas Vacation

By Pete Marciulonis

The Hermitage is a bit of an historical oddity, fascinating and strange. The hike up to see this religious site will take visitors through small villages along beautiful trails, full of island flora and fauna. It is located at the top of Mt. Alvernia, which is 206 feet above the sea and the highest point in the Bahamas.

The Hermitage itself is made from the limestone of the cliffs, with each piece painstakingly extracted, shaped and set by hand by the Canadian mule-skinner turned Anglican turned Roman Catholic priest known as Father Jerome. The Father built the structure to scale, designed it to fit his rather diminutive form. Beloved by the island people, the priest passed away in 1956 after reaching the ripe age of 80.

Other historical sites include an Arawak cave, found at Columbus point, and plantation ruins, left over from the islands efforts at joining the worlds cotton growers. Deveaux mansion was once the residence of Andrew Deveaux of the US Navy, who participated in the 1873 battles to get Nassau back from Spain. Another well known ruins is the remains of the Ambrister plantation, near Port Howe.

For those interested in water sports, the Cat Island Dive Center is the place to contact. They operate out of the Greenwood Beach Resort and have a variety of diving and snorkeling packages available, and there are many fine areas to explore, offering a wealth of marine life and fascinating geological formations. They also have water sport equipment to rent.

Cat Island is the sixth largest island in the Bahamas, and boasts extraordinary beaches. There are literally miles and miles of virtually undisturbed beaches, where swimming and relaxing can be done in near complete privacy.

Fine meals can be had at several locations on Cat Island. Hawk's Nest Resort and Marina serves a variety of dishes, but among the best are the fresh, grilled fish and the roasted rack of lamb. Fernandez Bay Village is the place to go for creative and delicious native dishes, served either in the dining room or a patio table by the beach. Greenwood Beach Resort's Bahaman cuisine is complemented by their marvelous breads, which are baked every day.

Cat Island is an excellent choice for vacationers who are seeking a natural beach experience, and enjoy a peaceful and very laid-back atmosphere. The island can be explored at a leisurely pace, which is a much better way to enjoy the local flora and fauna, as well as to enjoy the local culture.
Because it is so much smaller in population than many of the other islands, it's easier to get a real feel for the people and their way of life. Cat Island is an interesting place that will make a lasting impression on its guests.

Travel Tips - Booking a Cheap Orlando Vacation

By Chris Robertson

Orlando, Florida is a vacationer's paradise. Contrary to popular belief, you don't have to have children to enjoy the theme parks and attractions in Orlando, which include Disney World, Universal Studios, Epcot Center, Disney's Animal Kingdom, and the Disney-MGM Studios.
Indeed, Orlando is a wonderful, magical place - and a destination you'll certainly want to visit more than once.

One of the challenges that many people face is finding a cheap Orlando vacation. After all, airfare, hotel accommodations, meals, and theme park entrance fees can take a big bite out of your pocketbook. Here are some tips on booking an Orlando vacation at a bargain price....

1. Purchase a Package
Although some people are intent upon purchasing airfare, hotel accommodations, and park passes separately, the truth is that you'll get a much better deal if you buy an Orlando vacation package. Those who sell Orlando vacation packages get deeply discounted rates, and can pass those savings on to you. Although you may suspect that some packages are too good to be true, once you check out the reputation of the sellers, you are likely to find that the offers are legitimate.

2. Be Flexible in Your Travel Dates
The more flexible you are in your travel dates, the more likely you are to find a cheap Orlando vacation package. If you're insistent upon traveling during peak periods, you're going to pay premium prices. If, on the other hand, you are able to travel in the non-peak season, you'll find a plethora of bargains from which to choose.

3. Look for the Extras in Accommodations
Travel packages vary widely in the types and length of accommodations offered, as well as the tickets that are included. It pays to do your research and find the package that offers you the biggest bang for your bucks. You may, for example, find a cheap Orlando vacation for only $249 per person, double occupancy. It could include such features as four nights of hotel accommodations near the Disney Main Gate plus two nights of hotel accommodations in Cocoa Beach, Florida.

4. Look for the Extras in Tickets
Some Orlando vacation packages offer an amazing array of tickets and passes, so be sure to find the one that best suits your interests and needs. For example, you may find a package that's discounted 65% from what you'd normally pay, and that still includes two one-day passes to Disney or Universal, two Kennedy Space Center tickets, Sterling Casino Day Cruise tickets, dinner theater tickets, and so forth.

5. Consider a Timeshare
If you love all that Orlando has to offer, consider purchasing a timeshare in the area. A timeshare provides you with access to all of Orlando's attractions while giving you a place to call "home." As those who own timeshares can attest, it's a great feeling to know that you have a place to stay while you're in Orlando - particularly if that place is a resort. For those who are looking for a cheap Orlando vacation and who don't own a timeshare, there are resort companies that offer incredibly cheap Orlando vacations in exchange for listening to a sales presentation.
You really can't beat the prices when all you have to do in return is give up an hour or two of your time.

Don't let cost keep you from visiting one of the most magical places in the United States. Find a cheap Orlando vacation and enjoy all that the Sunshine State has to offer!

Taking Luxury Vacations Doesn't Have To Be Expensive

By Philip McCollum

I have spent numerous hours online this year browsing through travel related sites trying to find the best way to save money on vacations. My searching brought me to a travel club membership that allows me to book space in luxury resorts condominiums for a fraction of the cost if booking through normal travel channels. The travel club membership provides access to over 5000 worldwide destinations, many of which are luxurious 4 & 5 star resorts, and pay far less than the industry rate while being able to book in advance or at the last minute, as I see fit.

Resorts often have vacancies due to the timeshare owners being unable to utilize their week or offering the week for exchange. Resorts have become more creative in selling vacant weeks. An idea that is in vogue recently is utilizing travel clubs with large buying power to pre-reserve thousands of weeks thereby guaranteeing to the resort a higher occupancy rate. This reduces their marketing expenses, and the advantages allow the resorts to offer super rates to the travel clubs. In turn, the travel club can make the weeks available to members and pass along the savings. It's a business arrangement that works well for the resorts, the travel club, and the end user.

In order to make this all work and generate the kinds of super discount savings that make members happy, the travel club has to have sufficient buying power. The club I joined has been in business for 21 years and has the leverage to get the best deals.

For the travel club, the challenge is attracting new members using cost effective advertising. They need to turn a profit, and so all advertising expense must be passed along to members.
With the growth of the internet, and the current acceptance by many that buying through the internet is normal, the advertising efficiencies of the internet can be put to work to find new travel club members at a much lower cost. This is a win-win situation since the savings are passed along to members. That makes now the the best time in history to join a travel club and take advantage. The deals are quite exceptional.

Members prices are far below retail and even better than last-minute deals. But with the membership, it is possible to make reservations in advance or make last-minute plans, so all scenarios can be satisfied. And it's not hard to find places to go. The club has so many beautiful resorts and destinations that I’ll never run out of places I want to visit.

The luxury travel club membership concept has recently been improved by offering expanded benefits at a reduced price. New benefits include expanded inventory of resorts, "hot week" prices as low as $298 for an entire week, and guest weeks that are a way of offering member discount prices to friends, family, etc.

For all the details, I suggest a visit to http://www.LuxuryTravelToday.com where you can learn about the membership, compare prices with other travel sites such as Expedia and Travelocity, and review frequently asked questions. Best wishes for many happy vacations!

Hawaii Vacation

By Lauren Ashe

I have been thinking about taking a vacation to Hawaii this year since our plans for Europe fell thru. I wanted to ask travelers that have been to hawaii to get a first takers account of the Hawaii experience. I jumped on my computer and googled "hawaii vacation" the results that showed up were less then spectacular, "orbitz, travelocity, and expedia" all in the top ten?
C'mon now I think the results should reflect more peoples content then the advertisers ads.

As I got to the third page of the google results I finally found a website that would offer me some real information on Hawaii. The website was northshore.com, I have heard of the famous north shore of Hawaii when I was a kid. Lots of movies and films have been made depicting the popular surf and world class waves of Hawaii. I decided that I will take my vacation there on the north shore of Oahu, Hawaii.

When planning activities to do on my trip, since I have a 12 year old and a 6 yr old. I decided to take the free Arizona memorial tour. This is the tour of the remains of the historical WWII pearl harbor attack. My next activity and all the rest of them will be scheduled on the north shore.
Polynesian cultural center is the number one paid activity and I will definitely be taking my family to that attraction. Snorkeling, bottom fishing and horseback riding are the other activities that I will enjoy.

The northshore.com website is great as I was able to download coupons for all of my activities and also local information on things to do and places to eat. I actually found our place to stay on the northhshore.com website, we are staying in a vacation rental for a decent price.

Hope our trip goes well, I will write about the whole thing and report back. Our trip is in a couple of weeks.

Louisville Waterfront Park in Kentucky - A Great Vacation and Travel Destination

By Robert Benjamin

The Louisville Waterfront Park in Kentucky is a beautiful patch of green in a very urban atmosphere. The park is located in an area where there are a lot of scrap yards, sand and gravel plants, old rail beds, petroleum and asphalt terminals, and an interstate highway that makes it practically impossible to publicly access the river. The Waterfront Park worked to connect the city and the river again and it has returned to a beautiful place where the community can gather and enjoy a beautiful space. The park offers a 12 acre Great Lawn that slopes smoothly down to the river and it is a great place for families to get together and picnic, play, or do anything else. The Lawn is also a fun gathering place to watch fireworks, play football games, listen to concerts, fly a kite, or just hanging out with friends catching some rays and listening to the river gurgle by.

The Belle of Louisville steamboat lives permanently at the wharf and it also has enough space for visiting riverboats and other boaters in and out of the area. At the festival plaza there are water hook ups and built in utilities so it is easy for festivals, fairs, concerts, and other fun activities. There are even pools of water that run down to the river and water cannons that shoot to the pools. There is a fountain at the entry called Dancing Waters that is a lot of fun to jump in on a hot day to cool off. There is a great place for kids to play including picnic areas, hills and meadows, and even tree groves.

Waterfront Park has a second phase that will consist of 30 acres and is currently under construction. When it is completed it will offer residents and tourists and even bigger oasis in the middle of the concrete jungle. If you happen to be in Kentucky in the Louisville area and want a great day of fun and relaxation that doesn't cost a lot then you should definitely check out the Louisville Waterfront Park.

Top Family Vacation Destinations

By Jolana Klobouk

Planning a family beach vacation? Looking for destinations with family resorts that have fun sports and activities for the whole family, all inclusive resorts where meals are included and kid clubs? Here are some of the most popular beach destinations for families to unwind and relax:

Mexico
Mexico, especially the Cancun area, and Mayan Riviera, an hour’s drive south of Cancun, is a popular place for family beach vacations. The Mayan Riviera is one of the regions of Mexico - and the world- which offers the richest variety of landscapes and archaeological treasures including Mayan ruins, coral reef, snorkelling lagoons, and eco-theme parks such as Xcaret. Hotels, resorts, restaurants, and attractions throughout Mexico welcome families with open arms.

Jamaica
Jamaica is considered by many to be the most beautiful of all the Caribbean Islands and is one of the top family-vacation destinations in the Caribbean. Many of Jamaica’s resorts offer supervised children's activities, babysitters, family discounts, and kid's meals. Jamaica has an abundance of top all-inclusive chains including: Sandals Beaches, SuperClubs Breezes resorts and Club Med. There are also many other family vacation options such as the Franklyn D. Resort in Runaway Bay, Jamaica, where families have their own vacation nanny during their stay.

Turks and Caicos
On a 12-mile stretch of satiny white-sand, Beaches Turks & Caicos is one of the premier family resorts on the island. With separate programs for infants, toddlers and teens, each is designed to give each age the activities they love. So when you're off doing your thing, they're off doing theirs. There are many other resorts to stay at this idyllic family beach destination

Bahamas
Home to the Atlantis Bahamas resort and many other excellent family resorts, there will not be a dull moment on your Bahamas family vacation. Blessed with the perfect location-less than 100 miles off the coast of Florida, the perfect climate- averaging a little over 75 degrees, and the perfect surroundings-crystal clear turquoise blue waters and pearly white beaches, the Islands of the Bahamas is the perfect destination for your next family beach vacation.

Hawaii
A Family Hawaii Vacation has it all. Beautiful beaches, world-class golf, surfing, shopping, swimming, top notch hotels, condominiums, eco tours, national parks, warm weather, and cool ocean breezes. The four islands that are popular for a family Hawaii Vacation are Oahu, Maui, the Big Island and Kauai.

Florida
Florida is a popular family beach destination because the climate is warm year round, it is easy to get to, it offers good value for your money, there are endless options for sightseeing and attractions for you family depending on what area you are in, and the beaches in Florida are numerous. In addition to beach destinations and of course Walt Disney World, there are tons of other family outings including Universal Studios, Sea World, Bush Gardens and many more.
Don’t Forget Family Cruises

This is a very popular family vacation option and my personal favorite. Cruises with kids offer great value, choice and freedom! There are a lot of misconceptions about cruising such as it is only for older people and not suited for families, it is too rigid, there is nothing to do, you’ll feel trapped, you’ll get seasick, it’s too expensive! All is these statements are false and could not be further from the truth. Bring your kids along on almost any cruise and they'll have the time of their lives.

Have You Considered a Ranch Vacation?

By Peter S. Mason

If you like your open spaces then a ranch holiday may be just what you are looking for. With wide open plains, fresh, crisp mountain air and plenty of open space for miles around, a ranch vacation really does offer a very different kind of holiday experience.

Generally a ranch holiday can help you to bond with the family, forget about the stresses of every day life and give you something exciting to do all at the same time. What more could you possibly ask for on a vacation?

Going on a Dude Ranch Holiday
It was when most of the West had been explored that Dude ranches set up in business. It was people from the East who wanted to come and explore the West and all that it had to offer who really inspired the Dude ranch to set up.

Not used to seeing or handling so many tourists, the West relied upon the Dude ranch to allow Easterners to stay and experience life in the West. Providing them with all of the activities which they might expect from the west, the Dude ranch quickly became more and more popular as time went on. This made them expand and lodges were built to accommodate more guests and a lot of profit was made. These days the ranching experience is still really popular and it really does provide you with a completely different type of holiday which you are likely never to forget.

Preparing For a Ranch Holiday
Before you rush off and enjoy your ranch vacation, you really should take several things into account. Without proper preparation you may not have the best time possible so it is essential to prepare as much as you can.

Firstly you need to decide where you want the ranching holiday to be. There are many farm holidays situated all around and all of them will provide you with a different experience. This is because different activities will be offered at different ranches and so it all really depends upon what you want to do when you get there. Also the type of activities that you choose will have a direct effect upon how much the vacation will be. So make sure that you have an idea of what kind of budget you can afford and stick to it.

Overall outdoor holidays really can be excellent for the whole family. It is not just a vacation which allows you to forget about the stresses of every day life, it is also a whole new experience which can be really exciting. A ranching holiday may not be everyone’s idea of a good time, but it is surprising just how good they can actually be.

Travel Preparation for Your Next Vacation

By Robert J. Carlton

When planning your vacation, you make sure all arrangements are made in advance. These may include rental car, air travel, hotel, and tickets to events that may be very popular. But do you put as much effort into packing as you should? Most people do not and find themselves without many items once they arrive. Being prepared means thinking ahead and packing items that will help you have a great time when on vacation.

Most people spend the majority of their time packing clothing they will not wear. Pack a maximum of seven outfits when going on vacation. You will be able to mix and match pieces to create even more outfits. Depending on where you are going, pack the appropriate clothing so you will not be too warm or cold. Packing items together as a way to save space will allow you to take less luggage on your trip. Putting socks into your shoes, bringing clothing that is light and not bulky will also take up less room.

If you will be traveling with children, the same clothing rules apply. Because children have a tendency to get their clothing dirty more often than adults, pack a few extra shirts so they will have enough for the entire vacation. Older children should be allowed to pack their own clothing.
This will give them more responsibility and give you more time to focus on other items that need to be packed.

Writing a list of all other items besides clothing will help with travel preparation. Remember to bring medications, first aid kit, toothpaste, and any other items you feel are important. Having a list will make it easier for you to remember everything you will need. Keeping these items in a small back pack will make them easier to find when you need them.

The last items you should remember to pack are travel directions. Knowing where you are going will make it much easier to get there. If traveling by car, buy a map or a portable GPS unit so you will always know where you are and how far you are from your destination. If traveling overseas, make sure you have your passport and visas handy.

While you can never prepare for everything that will happen during your trip, you should try to plan in advance, especially if you will be traveling with children. Another way to plan for your vacation is to think about which activities you plan on participating in. If you will be taking a tour, call the tour guide company to see if there is anything special you should bring with you.

Preparing for a trip may mean making a small trip to local stores in the area you are vacationing in. Most hotels and resorts have toothpaste and other items in case you forget anything. Just ask at the desk and get what you need.

Planning a RV Vacation

By Jack S. Blacksmith

RV vacations are becoming a more popular and economical way to go for many families who want to see all they can on their holiday.

If you stick with flying from one destination to another and then renting a hotel room and car for that town, it can be budget breaking and inconvenient. On the financial side, there are the expenses of various airline tickets, then a number of hotels and all the car fees to have a vehicle to get around. Why not just be in a mobile hotel and have all your accommodations with you as you go from place to place. That is what an RV provides. You can unpack just once, and still visit town after town that you can explore at your leisure, and at the end of the day, return to the RV which has all the comforts of home, get a little shut-eye then head out to the next town without having to repack your bags or deal with time-consuming airport security.

If you travel a lot, purchasing an RV may be a wise investment. Likely when you first look at the price tag of a large recreational vehicle you may think it’s too much to pay for a vehicle, but traveling by road trip instead of by air will save you money in the long run. It’s an investment that will pay for itself every time you don’t have to purchase an airline ticket or hotel room. In addition, every meal will not have to be an expensive restaurant meal since most RV’s have a cooking area where you can still enjoy home-cooked meals together.

If you have kids, an RV holiday has many benefits. Think of the last time you tried to get the kids to sit still while you waited hours for a flight, or while you were checking in to the hotel. They are fidgety, fussy and a handful. But, if you were in a RV there is room for games, TV, DVD players and all sorts of things to keep them entertained throughout the trip.

When planning a RV trip, you will be pleased to know there are places to stop for the night almost everywhere. If you really want a great location to stop, check out the directory of National Parks and State Forests where you are planning to be and see if you can stay on the property. Parks such as Yellowstone allow you to camp there with your RV so you can enjoy the breathtaking view and history of the location and already be home at the end of the day instead of having to drive to a hotel.

Not everyone likes to rough it when they are out on the road, and if you’re one of them, you may need to choose your RV camping area a little more carefully. Check ahead to make sure they have hot showers and other facilities you and your family would like. Some even have restaurants, lounges and bars for the adults as well as play areas for the kids.

A Greece Vacation to Remember

By Jack S. Blacksmith

A staple throughout history, Greece is a country filled with stories and landmarks that have remained for many centuries. This fact is not lost on the 15 million or more people that visit this country each year.

If you are thinking of planning a trip to the area here is some advice to make sure you get the most out of your Greece vacation.

To start your holiday in Greece, you must visit the Acropolis. This locale has been depicted hundreds of times in pictures, books, and movies. This is an area where legends were born and geniuses gathered.

Just below the Acropolis is the city of Ancient Agora. While in ruins, walking through the area that is over 2,500 years old lets you tread on the same ground as Plato and Socrates.

Discover Greece from the air. There is no better way to really take in the historic city of Athens than by seeing the whole thing, at once, by air. There are many helicopter tours available that will give you a 30 minute ride in the skies over Athens, pointing out all the landmarks you won’t want to miss.

It’s worth the time to make a stop at the National Archaeological Museum with a wide selection of historical antiquities. It is regarded as one of the world’s best museums.

If you are looking for a great outdoor experience while on your holiday in Greece, bring your hiking shoes and take a stroll down the Vindos Gorge. This Northern Greece location is the deepest canyon in the world, as recorded by the Guinness Book of World Records.

Looking for a little water time? Head to the beaches of Crete. These beaches are some that many European visitors have tried to keep as a secret for their own enjoyment for many years.

If you want to make a difference while in Greece and are attached to the oceanfront, there is an organization called the ARCHELON Sea Turtle Protection Society that is always looking for volunteers. They need people who will help them monitor the nesting habits of the sea turtles every summer.

There are also events you can take part if to do as the Grecians do is you choose to vacation at the right time of year. Here are some to consider.

If music is your escape from the world, the Rockwave festival is held every summer. It is a three-day event in which three stages are constantly heralding music. One stage features metal, one showcases rock, and another plays dance music.

Try out a local sporting event. If you’re there in football season (soccer for Americans) you may want to try to attend a Hellenic National League football game. Be sure you’re up for it. Football fans in this area are passionate about their sport and may even storm the field if they don’t like an official call.

If you are the athletic type, head to Greece in November and strap your running shoes on. This is when the Athens marathon is run, on the same route as the Olympic marathon.

Florida Vacation Rental - The Smart Alternative

By Alison Meacham

So you have decided that you want to visit The Happiest Place on Earth - Disney World in Orlando Florida. Your next big decision is where you would like to stay. An increasing number of people are choosing to stay in an Orlando vacation rental villa. As recently as 5 years ago the choice was limited - but now there is something for everyone. From the 2 bed condo to the 7 bed luxury vacation home on a beautiful Florida vacation rental resort.

When you start your search for an home you will notice that there are a lot of choices. Some would say an overwhelming number of choices! So you need to be a little organized just as you would in your search for an hotel. So here is a list to start your Florida vacation rental search:

How large a vacation home do you want? Decide if you are looking for a condo, or a home. A condo may cost less but if it is a more luxurious stay you are looking for then consider an upgrade to a villa. Most vacation homes in Orlando will have a private pool - is this something that would make your stay that bit more special? Many of my guests tell me that the private swimming pool is the thing which their children enjoy most!

How close to the attractions would you like to be? Many Orlando vacation home rentals are close to Disney World. Ask yourself how important this is to your family. There are some resorts, including the Windsor Palms resort, which are within 5 to 10 minutes of the Disney Main Gate.

What is your price range? Treat this just as you would with an Orlando Florida hotel. It is best
to set a realistic budget which is right for your family. You will be saving money so why not treat yourself to something very special?

There are many different communities offering different things. Some homes are located on a resort with facilities to rival that of a 4 or 5 star hotel. Do you want a home with community pool, spa, sundry store, games room, gym, movie theater - the possibilities are endless. Or would you prefer to pay a little less and have a villa on a community with no facilities? You must decide what would be best for your family group.

So when you have found your perfect choice of vacation home community, or at least narrowed it down to a choice of 2 or 3 maximum, begin emailing owners, that you have found in your search. Look at their website and check out the pictures. A picture speaks a thousand words.
Unfortunately you also have to look at the words! By this I mean the responses from the owner.
Was their response speedy and helpful? Ask as many questions as you need to. If you want to talk to them on the telephone then ask them to call you. This can often be a much easier way of getting the information that you need to know, and also building trust in your vacation home owner.

Whichever Florida vacation rental home you choose I am sure that you will be happy with your choice and never want to stay in the confined space of an hotel room again.

Cape Coral Vacation Homes - All The Best Of Florida

By Wade Robins

If you’re tired of spending the late months of one year and the early months of the next struggling with bitter cold , mountainous piles of snow, and streets too icy to navigate, you could do worse than to trade your time in a “winter wonderland”, wherever it may be, for the “water wonderland “ that surrounds Cape Coral vacation homes.

In the nearly four decades since Caper Coral was founded in 1970, it has become Florida’s fourteenth –largest city, but even that rapid growth rate has done nothing to spoil its natural beauty. One of the earliest master-planned communities in the US, Cape Coral is located in southwest Florida, along the broad and unspoiled Caloosahatchie River and just to the west of Fort Myers. Cape Coral vacation homes abound along its four hundred miles of canals carrying the water into the Caloosahatchie and the Gulf of Mexico, and along its more than twenty-five miles of shoreline.

Cape Coral Attractions
Those enjoying stays in Coral Cape vacation homes find themselves within one hour of the Everglades National Park, minutes from Captiva and Sanibel Beaches with their abundance of seashells and the nearby Darling Wildlife Refuge. They can leave their Coral Cape vacation homes prepared for a day on one of the many nearby golf courses or hiking and biking trails, or for boating, fishing, snorkeling, and swimming outings. Fort Myers is within minutes for those who just like to relax on the beach.

Coral Cape vacation homes will provide their tenants will all the comforts of their own homes and easy access to all the Coral Cape events which take place throughout the year, from January’s Festival of the Arts, to Oktoberfest, to the Christmas Boat Light Parade. Those who find the beaches, links, and biking trails too crowded can plan days away from their Coral Cape vacation homes kayaking beneath the mangrove tunnels which shade the estuaries of the Matlatcha Aquatic Preserve.

Cape Coral Nightlife

Cape Coral vacation homes can be springboards to a nightlife which ranges from some of the best snook fishing in Florida to an evening out for great food and better jazz at Ellington's on Sanibel Island, where the white grand piano bears the signatures of the many jazz virtuosos who have entertained there. Time spent enjoying the Fort Myers after-hours scene is a great way to finish off a day spent shopping at the Coralwood Mall or Tanger Outlet Mall.

Those who rent or own Cape Coral vacation homes, in short, have all the best of the laid-back Florida lifestyle in a breathtakingly beautiful setting!

How Vacation Ownership and Timeshares are Helping Family Relationships - More Famililies Buying It

By Lori Wilk

Vacation ownership and timeshare is definitely helping families get together again and in a more comfortable style as the fast-growing vacation lifestyle choice.

Whether you have a small or large family, if you have people you love, you feel obligated to see them and spend time together. This doesn't mean that you don't also need a vacation. Let's face it, we love our family members, most of the time, just kidding, but it can be very stressful visiting family members.

Anyone who says that there's no stress in juggling the commitments of getting together with family members is probably not being honest with themselves. The more people you plan to visit, the more arrangements you need for the logistics including lodging, transportation, and all those meals.

Timeshare and vacation ownership is changing the way families visit and vacation and helping take some of the stress out of these family visits. There's a huge difference between visiting in someone's living room and sleeping on an air mattress and then sharing a bathroom with 7 or 8 other people as compared to staying at a luxury resort with multiple bedrooms, bathrooms, and amenities such as swimming pools and outdoor barbeque grills.

Now that we own our vacation, we select a resort to stay at which is close enough for our family to come to us and enjoy the quality time together. Most of the time, we are flying into their city and have already spent money to get within an hour of their home location and we've taken time off of jobs to be with them. It's great to have the family come to our resort and then to have them leave and go back to their own homes so we can have a combination visit and vacation.

Our adult children are also coming to our city more and staying at the ownership resorts instead of our living room. They tell us they like features such as shuttle service to drop them off in town so they can have some recreational activities and shop and make their time fun and our family-time together less stressful.

In fact, the happier the family members are with the vacation ownership and timeshare, the more they are looking forward to family get togethers and this is changing our family for the better. Vacation ownership could just might be best thing that ever happened to yours.
